About Tim_P

  1. Fair point, I've had numerous BMW's and as an all-rounder I think they take some beating. But I enjoyed my Integra Type-R a lot more than my E36 M3. 24 cars later I just feel it's time to go awd turbo and the Impreza seems to be a better bet for my budget. I miss the excitement of driving the Honda gave me, something I know the evo-bishis will deliver.
  2. Buying cars with your head is boring. I'm coming round to the idea of Impreza ownership and leaving behind the safety of that which I know (BMWs) and that which have timing chains!! I dont keep cars much more than a year anyways so if I find a good scoob which has recently had it's belt and oils done that'll do nicely! WRX over UK you reckon?
  3. Thanks for the comments. I have driven a couple of Imprezas, namely a 95 WRX and a 2001 WRX. I also drove a UK model '99 but wasn't as keen. The great thing about the cars is the ease at which you can cover ground. The Integra took a little more coaxing but for the money I'm not sure there is a more rewarding car out there, even for several times the budget; a proper, no compromise driving machine. Having owned a lot of cars but never a Subaru or Evo I am thinking about investing, but it would only be an earlier car, perhaps even a wagon due to the mutt. I don't do more than 150 miles a week and the journey would allow for decent mpg, even from an Impreza, but I'm still not sold on them for some reason. I'd be interested to hear why you guys decided upon an Impreza over it's great rival the Evo?
  4. Running costs are what put me off initially, same as the Evo and other similar cars. Having had cars like Integra Type-R's which offer great driver envolvement and thrills with really reasonable running costs I'd find it hard to move on to something like a Subaru and take a hit in the wallet, great though they are.
  5. Hey all. Despite this being only second post I'm going on the scrounge, not for Impreza info but for pictures. Currently I run a website dedicated to driving, b-roads in particular. What I am after is some pictures of cars out on b-roads, action shots, good stills, whatever really for use on the front page of the site and forum header. If you have anything I could use, please let me know. Many thanks Tim
  6. Most car enthusiasts identify weak points in their car. Many try and improve upon those, others accept it in view of the car's other favourable characteristics. Given that no car is perfect and it's all a matter of priorities, what is it about your Subaru that you try to improve on or concede as a compromise in view of everything else?
