  1. Surely you've got a spare from a pre 05 sti or wrx which is 100pcd? Where did you buy the car from? The jack will be fine as above, just make sure you're on level ground, handbrake on and position the jack well to begin with. If you were closer I have wheels and tyres sitting but no use to you now! You must be stressed: started off with three kisses, then two and now none!!!!
  2. Leslie, you need to swap a rear to the front then use the space saver on the rear. Bat your eyelids and get someone to do it for you!!!
  3. If he stays in your street I'll go for footballer's wife
  4. 1.6 for a ver9 sti I believe
  5. Oil or grease them first. Are they defo the correct thread? The ones that came out may have 'picked up' and damaged the thread in the holes? Do you have a tap to clean the holes?
  6. To screw in new studs use two plain nuts, screw them both on to the same end and lock them together with two spanners, then use this to screw the studs in. Loosen them once fitted and they'll both turn off with your fingers leaving the stud in place.
  7. Paul, as a garage owner and MOT station, I'd like to just say, for f**ks sake, would you like us to wipe your ar$e too? Kidding mate. We operate a reminder service, it's entirely up to the garage, there is no need to do it. The MOT certificates do still have a sticker section on them but I chose not to stick them on cars as some owners can be funny. Or nobs. Or total b@$tards. If they want to stick - let them stick. The MOT fee is a guide price, a maximum chargeable for the class of test. From that we must pay a test slot fee per test, this is currently two pounds iirc. The rest goes to us to pay for the equipment, calibration, the premises, the maintenance, the labour, the admin, the insurance, the tea and finally, the biscuits, if there is any pennies left over. I wonder why you reckon any portion of road tax is used for motoring related issues - except maybe to remind you to pay the next - defo used for that one!! PM me your reg and MOT expiry date and I'll remind you bud!
  8. Will you be 'demo'ing it on Thursday night?
  9. Looking good Robert, you could possibly add a little dispenser tray for holding SIDC flyers so those who are interested may just make the effort and pick one up! Well done.
  10. Great job Colin, she looks well happy in the photo!
  11. "Aye Aye sir, we've pulled you over as we wanted to know how you were able to drive UP Lanark Braes with you're engine switched off?" "It's not switched off officer" "In the name of the wee man, neither it is, quiet as a Prius that one. Never mind we'll charge you with unauthorised screw holes in your front bumper instead!"
  12. That's great mate, couldn't stay away eh? What mods on her then - see there's a boost controller - tell all! If you make it to a meet we can use your mats to play chess on See you soon!
  13. Who told you that Boss? The we wasn't wus, me and you, twas we as in us, all of us, the attendees! I'm happy to set up a Saturday but some moaning faced Saturday Meeter tw@t will need to take charge on the actual SATURbloodyDAY of the meet!!!
  14. You won't see anything with the U/J except possible signs of rust coloured water on or around. Plaster it with oil anyway, you will do no harm to it. If it is it that's faulty within a couple of minutes of turning lock to lock the oil will turn rusty and then you'll have to monitor for play!
  15. I see your point Boss, just thought since SIDC is made up of mature, elitist, enthusiasts that we would get a true response. The person that voted for Monday, Tuesday, Wed and so on probably is wondering what kind of tw@t would want to meet on a Saturday. Personally Del, I can't do weekends and if I could, I don't think I would want to tbh. If you want to trial a Saturday Meet by all means go ahead. Not so sure you can be an RO and a MOD though Seriously, once the longer nights are in, we'll have a month with a Saturday/Thursday choice or both if it suits. You, or some suitably irresponsible Impreza owner, would need to take the reigns for the weekend mate. It's a free country, I think?
  16. If you want to check the power steering belt then lift the lid, take the belt cover off the front top of the engine and it's the same belt as drives the alternator. Get your fingers in the power steering pump pulley, left of alternator as you look at car front on, engine off obviously, and see if you can turn the pulley independently of the belt, if it attempts to turn the engine then it is tight enough.
  17. There is no boss, Derek you can pretend to be the boss if you like, just like at home I just wanted to see what the majority wanted since Cathy raised the issue elsewhere. We've all said from the start that we can't please everyone so, as with everything, the majority rules whether that's right or not! So far Thursday is ahead with Saturday coming up the rear, Derek?
  18. Colin, OP said going beyond a quarter turn - worth checking as it could be starting to seize.
  19. Would just like to check that those who attend and those who would like to attend are happy with the meet day. I originally chose Thursday because it suited me as it's difficult to organise things you can't attend and also because of the success of the Glasgow Meet which is also on a Thursday, logical then that we have it roughly two weeks apart to allow people to do both if they wish. So just click your most suitable day above and feel free to justify it below. It would be better if you do tell me why you want a particular day. For me it's a Thursday - just cause it fits with my life!
  20. Check steering U/J isn't tightening up. Lots of cars in with this fault just now due to the weather. If it is, soak it in oil from an oil can and turn it back and forth several times. You'll see the rust start to come out. Nine times out of ten this is enough, sometimes the U/J will have play in it after the rust comes out - you need to check for this and replace if necessary. Hope this helps.
  21. Clearly anything could be made to fit Glyn with enough effort but my initial reaction as stated above is that they would be too powerful and you would end up locking the rears. Achieving the balance would be key. Saying that, if you could post your results up by Sunday night that'll let everyone else decide if it's worth it!!!!
  22. Historically people were paid on a Thursday? Who knows Cathy!
  23. No probs Colin. Note for next time - bring a real camera!!!
  24. Do it. Do it. Do it. You're getting it mapped anyway. You can afford the loss of Vpower!
  25. maybe Delboy, but Paul's reg is probably better as it is!!
