  1. Hi mate, I think there have been a few of these discussions and you'll always get a mixed bag of answers. Some will say that powder coating lasts etc but the guy who painted my wheels told me the opposite etc. My wheels costs slightly more than powder coating but it was from someone who I knew would do a good job and I also had the full spectrum of colours/shades available to me. Not sure if that's the case with powder coating. Here's the finished result on mine anyway. Painted by Jim at JB Coachworks in Paisley.
  2. Hi mate. Just when I felt that it wasn't as sore anymore I spoke to the surgeon today. As he's working out the office he hasn't seen the 'pictures' of the scan but based on the report, I'm booked for an op a week on Thurs. Will be getting a general anaesthetic which I haven't had before.
  3. Hi folks, Looking for something that will clean up the seats in my Scenic. They're a grey colour that seem to get stained easily with water/juice etc. Cheers
  4. Not sure about second hand prices but if you weren't aware already, Game and Gamestation will take it off you as part of a trade in.
  5. Certainly seems pretty common. Hadn't heard of the injury before it happenend to me! CT scan today. Hopefully results on Tues.
  6. Have gone private through my wife's work so went for a consultation the other day. Had another x-ray and hopefully getting a CT scan in the next week....benefits of private! Might not be all doom and gloom. If the scan shows signs of the bone trying to grow across the gap then it might not need an op.
  7. Yeah, same front me. I reckon it would be ok with the black wheels etc. Get it on with some blue tac or something for a quick pic and let us see
  8. Mmm, while I didn't like the hatch to start with, it did grow on me. In the first photo where you can see a hatch in the background, the hatch looks a lot better. The back end looks....er...American to me. I know what I mean anyway!!
  9. And what you're saying is that we should do mine next?
  10. What would you know Glyn? They did suggest a scaphoid and mentioned coming back in 2 weeks once the swelling was down but as I was ready to leave I was told they were confident there wasn't a fracture and I didn't have to return. Yes, I should've gone back sooner but thought I was dealing with a sprained wrist and then time just passed me by!
  11. Haha....I knew Neil would be along with something major!!! It's just odd that it's one of my smallest injuries but needs the most work. Never had on op for anything before now. Stewart....your VRM is off to traffic or maybe your pals from the airport
  12. That's the trouble with work...you end up hiding things etc because think 'it's just a sprain/man flu etc etc' Stewarty....I'm going private through Jo's work. Is that costing the taxpayer Have been told I'd be off work for a week post op and in a cast for 6-8 weeks so I'll probably be sat on my ar$e in an office for that time. Your tax pounds will be well spent
  13. Actually I think walking around with a broken bone for a couple of months is manning up..so there!!!
  14. I ride a 2 grand Giant TCR Composite. Full carbon frame. Campagnolo Chorus groupset. Do pushbikes count?
  15. Played 5's back in June and in making a poor attempt at a save, my wrist was snapped back. Thought I'd broken it but the x-ray the next day was apparently ok. Although I was told that some people return in 2wks time, I didn't need to! So....painful everyday since and extremely painful is moved sharply in any direction. God knows how it's taken me so long to get it looked at again...probably a man thing thinking it was only a sprain! But...back to the docs, referred to the RAH fracture clinic yesterday so get an x-ray again....and there's the big obvious break. A cast won't work so I'm now looking at an MRI scan to check the blood flow and then an operation to insert a pin/screw into it (local anaesthetic) or if I need a bone graft from my hip (general). Apparently quite a common injury but quite a process for such a small bone. Anyway had the op and is it a full recovery? Positive replies only thanks
  16. Indeed mate. Remember being on holiday in Ibiza when it happened. I know of a few people who, like me, had friends there at the time that were late for work/decided not to pop back to the office for that thing they had forgotten which meant they survived. Seemed to be your luck on the day!! I've got some morbid fascination with the programmer as well. Probably because I can't believe it happened. Have you seen the one about the two French brothers who make a documentary from the same firehouse. Split up before it all happens and are lucky enough to be reunited later. On the other hand, you have The Falling Man. Trying to trace one of the many who decided to jump instead
  17. Mmm, in the absence of someone who actually knows mate, you try the scoobypedia at the top? Does he means it's a prodrive model or has the prodrive performance pack on it? Also, do you have any links to the advert?
  18. Hello and welcome! Another place to check would be the for sale sections on this forum! If that's the money you have to spend then you could get a bit for your money. If you have a look in the Scottish section, find TheWelsho's car. Lovely modded WRX with some uprated internals. Mapped to 340/400 for £8.5k. Might have to paint the wheels though!! Happy hunting
  19. As I was enjoying my sleep off the night shift I received a nice wake up call from my wife at 1130am She had taken the wee one swimming at the Magnum centre and came out to find the Scenic had a puncture!! Change it I thought!! Oh, hang on, I remember being told that the car didn't come with a spare!!! Apparently it's commonplace these days? Phoned Halfords about a space saver wheel but they don't sell them so thought I'd take the wheel of and get it fixed. Good old Parks at Irvine hadn't supplied us with the tool to take the centre cap off!!! This is on top of a while back when I found out they hadn't given us a wheel locking nut tool either! Thankfully along came a good Samaritan who gave us a can of foam that he had so we could drive to kwik fit. Nice to know people like that are out there. Needed a new tyre at kwik fit and amazingly they 'only' had Goodyear, Bridgestone or Pirelli with the Goodyear being cheapest at £114!!! I only paid about £85 for my F1 Assymetrics (also bigger)! No choice really though! That's it really. Any tales of woe? I'm just passing the time at 2am!!!
  20. I'm sure a lot of people do indeed speed but you must have missed the point about this being the manner of driving. You're not local so don't know this particular bit of road. Also, if you don't like people here, why are you bothering your a*** to post here?
  21. Oh, I'm feeling a twinge!!!!! In my back obviously!!!!
  22. Gutted mate. Should've got a 360!!! er,.....actually then you get the RROD!!! Thankfully when my 360 died it was a few years old so it was an excuse for a brand new one!
  23. Hello and welcome. Wagons rock!! No problem getting a non turbo. A member on the Glasgow runs had one for a while and was fine with the club runs. Me personally, while I like spoilers/side skirts etc, I'm not a fan of body kits that are too Max Power etc and take away from the Scooby shape too much. Good luck
