  1. Hi mate and welcome! Got any pics of the car? Whereabouts are you? Check out the Events section for any local meets Guess you can't go wrong with starting with your exhaust. Full decat or sports cat, panel filter and maybe a wee remap might start things off With the power increase, are you thinking about handling/brake mods? Have a look on www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk which will give you a good guide.
  2. At the last meet at the start of this month the initial ans were made mate. I'm sure Robert will be along soon with more dates etc
  3. Yeah, as above for me. Have a look on the group buy section on Scoobynet for the BC's and contact Bren at Apex Performance. It might say the group buy has officially finished but he's been known to take an order at the group buy price after that date. Ride height suits me
  4. With winter round the corner, would you not be better with another cheaper HT Autos one? What happened to yours? Mine survived fine considering it was acting like a snowplough sometimes!!!
  5. Well mate, I'm occupying my time going through all the sections to see where I can add anything. You know, get my post count up etc! And it seemed to be a bit quiet at the mo. I think there's a tattoo thread that no-one's replied to in over a year so I might find that next. Anyway, are you not worse by replying and keeping it going, making me reply to your reply and keep it going further! Now...if you were to reply to my reply about your reply......
  6. And welcome to the forum mate I see you're in Paisley. Get yourself over to the Scottish regional area and keep and eye on the events section. We have a club meet in Hillington the first Thurs of every month. And c'mon the wagons!
  7. Back at hospital today for a proper cast. Had a plaster/bandage combo on for the last 2 weeks and this cast will come off on Nov 10th. Off work til then Probably a few weeks on light duties after that. Still no driving though
  8. Hi mate, I can only really speak for my current iPhone contract with O2. Pay £30 a month but get unlimited usage. Think they've now taken the unlimited thing off and put it to 500MB but I would've thought that would be enough? Used to have a Sony Ericsson with Vodafone but the phone wasn't up to much. Happy to be paying the extra each month for what the iPhone gives me.
  9. Your map will be a Prodrive one and you can get it mapped again. I have along with many others. My current map has a low or high boost setting via a double click of my rear demister which was down to my mapper. I think being able to change maps like you can on your ST is possible but unfortunately you'll need someone with a bit more know how to come along! When it comes to the 2.0 (EJ20) or 2.5 (EJ25) engines, they're both easy to modify but you'll get more torque to start with with the 2.5. There have been reliability issues with the 2.5, but if I remember, that's more from the Hatch onwards. With regards to the strength of the engines, that's when it comes to the WRX or STI. The STI has stronger internals so rather than a MY07 WRX, you could maybe get a MY05 STI? Everything about the STI is stronger etc so is a better base depending on how far you want to go? Not sure about the clutch service other than getting it checked during a normal service. I've got a MY05 WRX wagon with 68k on the clock. Clutch is fine but I don't do any 1/4 miles etc. My car's on 334bhp/335lbft which is stage 2a on Andy Forrest's site. The next stage would have me looking at a new clutch/gearbox! What plans would you have? Meant to ask whereabouts you are? Current clutch maybe good for 350bhp??
  10. Hi mate. I started off with Eibach springs on my wagon which lowered it a wee bit. Eventually wanted to go lower so went with BC coilovers. More expensive yes, but there are 30 settings for ride stiffness. Got my geometry done after fitting.
  11. Hello and welcome! Yeah, a PPP WRX should be about 260bhp. I'm trying to remember if the MY07 is the 2.5L? Think it might be so you've got a good bit of torque. The standard TD04 turbo isn't too bad at lower revs. You'll have the advantage of AWD with the Impreza. If you have a look at www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk you'll get a great idea of what you can do with mods. Easiest place to start is the exhaust. Either go full decat or sports cat. I've got a 100 cell sports cat and straight through centre section which released more burble! You can decat the up pipe but would need a remap after that. Don't know my mpg but probably average about 250 miles to a tank. Car runs on V-Power so its a bit more expensive. Belt etc is done at 60k miles. Think my average service is about £250 but could be less. Can't remember. I only get a service every 10k but some will do it or at least an oil change more often. If you're into your modding then you can't go wrong. The exhaust and a remap on the 2.5 would be a good start. Better all round drivability. Have a read of the Scoobypedia at the top of the page as well. Are you looking at buying from a dealer? There are a lot of cars on the private market at the moment so you could get one with some mods already. Let us know how it goes and don't be worried about the initial lack of replies. Gets like that sometimes.
  12. Ok, cheers Chris. Now just to pop to my local Halfords and get some...or not! With not driving for a few weeks I've got time on my side to get it delivered!
  13. Checking my levels today and could do with a top up. Think I used Helix 5/30 before but after reading up on it again, I'm wondering if I should try Millers 10/60? Car is used for normal road use with some 'accelerations'. Should I stick with the 5w as the weather is turning colder? Will I notice any difference? And the handbook says to use 5w/30. Car will get serviced soon so if I top up with Millers etc now, I'd get the oil change with that as well. Cheers
  14. Hi mate, Can't beat the blob wagon! I think we might've had a wagon roll call in the past....maybe in general but not in the Scottish section. Maybe you can start a fresh topic in the main section and I'll find a pic to add Oh...and welcome to the club!
  15. Well, hopefully that's me sorted. Went into hospital yesterday morning at 9.30am and then went downstairs at 11.30. Got the cannula in my hand and the anaesthetist was chatting away to me and I could feel myself getting light headed.....quite a nice feeling Next thing I knew I was coming round in recovery. Wasn't as bad as initially thought. No need for a bone graft, just a screw. Got a half bandage/cast on for the next 2 weeks then a full cast for a further 4. Worst thing is the cast is up to my thumb and the surgeon told me....no driving!! I've got my Tramadol for the pain which is quite nice All this for a wee bone!!!
  16. It's the bit where he has to haul himself up onto the top bit when the cage protection stops! Must be pretty darn fit to be doing that!
  17. Big kahunas to do this job!!! Much respect. I don't think I could do this for many ££££'s a day! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhtgsAXmz7U
  18. Glad we're not paying for this treatment. Got an invoice from the healthcare people, just so we know what's being charged for. £89.50 for a standard x-ray £460 for a CT scan! Interested to see how much the surgery will cost! Thankfully we're only paying the £100 excess!
  19. Hello and welcome mate. Nice figures to start with there! At 21 are you paying a fair bit of insurance for that!!!
  20. Good stuff mate. What are your new figures?
  21. Hello and welcome to the club mate. Glad to see the modding going on already! Keep an eye on the events section for any meets near you.
