  1. Hello folks, Well....after Colin (C WRX) cleaned up my engine bay for me I then went on to tart it up with some silicone hoses As I'm totally lame at doing anything like this myself, thanks to Stewarty and the Big Fella for fitting the hoses and to Colin and Wulsey for the inspiration
  2. As above. BBQ run next month....next week in fact!!! And welcome to the forum
  3. Blimey mate. Do you live and drive where there are no cops? That's got 'prohibition notice' written all over it. Don't come to Glasgow
  4. you're telling me! I Googled the dephaser and found the Renault Forums....yes there are Renault forums!!! Apparently it's a known problem with our engine! Will give Renault UK a phone.
  5. Hi Barry Didn't get a breakdown. There was just a mention of it on the printout for the service. Just said £700 inc VAT The car's a 2005 Grand Scenic. It's the 1.6 vvt engine cheers
  6. Hi folks, Our second car is a Renault Grand Scenic and a wee while ago it developed some issue with the starter button. Well...when you press the button there was a grating type noise and it would cut out. Might take a couple of starts to get it running again. Doesn't happen all the time. Anyway..it was in for a service today down in Irvine and they said the problem was something to do with the dephaser. If that gets replaced, they have to do the timing belt at the same time. And they'll fix it for the bargain price of......£700!!! Is this just another stealers price? Should any garage be able to fix it? Anyone know of any good Renault specific garages? Will I be taking my Scenic round to Greers?? Cheers
  7. I take it you've tried the usual suspects....Keith Michaels, A Plan etc? I'm 37...full ncb. All mods declared with me and the wife driving my MY05 WRX. £430 this year. Down from last year.
  8. Excellent Great figures mate. Remind me of your spec again
  9. Looking good I reckon that is a good price. What did you actually have done mate? Just cleaned or machine polishing as well etc?
  10. Post number 37 of the topic http://bbs.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-general...-own-a***s.html Mmm, link not working??? Isn't for me. Try http://bbs.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-general-1/ Looking for post 37 of the 'are there any clubs not up their own a***s' thread
  11. Liking the matt black. What happened to carbon then?
  12. And I've got a vf34 and really like it. I think it spools up a wee bit quicker than the 35
  13. Again it comescdown to how much power etc. For 300 + bhp you would need 550cc (pink) injectors. Read the Andy F guide and it tells you what you need and what power the turbos are good for.
  14. Hello and welcome mate. Keep a look out in the for sale section or on pistonheads. Do you know Beith Team who are on here as well? I'm down the road from Beith. Get yourself over to the Scottish section
  15. remap at the end to get the best of the mods mate. I've been running 334bhp/335lbft for a while on standard WRX clutch, gearbox and internals without any issues.
  16. Easily achievable mate. Using Andy F's guide you can work your way through the list and there you go. It'll just be the cost of the remap on top. Your standard internals, clutch and gearbox should be fine in the meantime.
  17. Ah....mmm, I had planned to get booked in before the BBQ run. I had heard he was about that much but last time I popped in to ask, I was quoted about £50/£60. I said I wanted my geometry done so don't know if I was supposed to ask for something else?
  18. Amen brother! I was thinking the other day that my car is a MY05 and has 65k on the clock but I'll gladly keep it another couple of years at least. I think I've had her for about 3 years but it feels like it's been no time at all.
