  1. Cheers Davie, As Imy said it's all sorted.. Impressive work really! Good to see the club pull together for somethign even an mundane as this Must do this again sometime... Anyone want a Oval Tipped WR-Sport/Prodrive backbox for a newage BTW - shamless plug for the guy I'm buying the parts from but he's also got a set of front brembo's, Inlet manifold, injectors & PPP parts to get rid of from a Blob STi PPP for anyone interested ^^^ Let's see how long I can get away with that before a mod removes it
  2. Woohoo! this looks like a go-er! Thanks guys, I've sent a goat with further details
  3. Woohoo!! Thanks Stuart! & imy Pretty sure I can arrange something... Will send a message just now and see what the guy says.. Although I said breakers in the origonal post, think it's more a guy breaking up a blobeye STi - ebay Linky << Just incase anyone else want's any parts off the car Stuart - Will send ya a PM once I have more confirmed details
  4. Ha haa... yep.. once you get roudn to removing a couple of those catalytic converters, swap out standard backbox for just about anything else and repalce the hard plastic Y-pipe under hte intercooler with a nice squidgy silicone one (plastic ones have been known to split when boost in increased) and it'll start getting more like your ol classic 21bhp isn't too bad an increase on standard parts.. Just running on V-power or T99 can give you an almost instant 10bhp alone.. Costs more though... Worth checking out ebay or the sales sectuion on here or even post up something in the wantes areas for any parts you seek Have you notices much of a difference with the remap in terms of drivability? P.s. It's a VERY slippery slope once you start...
  5. Dont have exact size/weight of parcel but a quick check suggests price from them isn't as bad as the rest.. Such a PITA that all delivery companies charge a whopping surchage because they believe IV postcode is not part of the mainland and is considered overseas, yet 10 mile east is an AB postcode costs on average £10-£15 less for delivery and usually by the same van/driver WTF! Grrr! If all else fails I'll probably do what Davey suggests and get it sent to an Aberdeen address.
  6. It's Locharbriggs/Heathhall area... postcode DG1 3RG
  7. Was thinking about that.. I know a few folk in Abz I could get them sent to.. I'll keep that in mind.. See how this goes..
  8. Great start thanks! yeah should fit in the boot.. They are basically a couple of narrow ish bars (maybe 1cm thick) which have a series of bends in them.. They about the width of the back seat in the boot car.. They fit up next tot he back of the rear seats so should be ok.. Anyone from Dumfries taking a jolly up to glasgow/stirling this later this week/this weekend?
  9. Lo all, Just thought I'd ask on the off chance that it may be possible. I've managed to source a set of uprated boot springs/torsion bars from a breakers in Dumfries. But regular Courier companies are asking an obscene amount for delivery up to an IV postcode.. And was wondering if there was any combination of journeys people were taking which would allow for them to be picked up and shuffled up the country a bit? Not looking for them urgently and wouldn't want anyone going out of their way for this, but if it was somehow in passing that would be cool!
  10. I remembered it beign rumoured/suggested when they first produced the Diesel engine but nothing since.. Hopefully Mitsubishi's announcement will spark (negative pun there) the STi boys into life and get it done! From what I can tell the boxer diesel is doing well!
  11. And while were posting PH links.. Anyone fancy a Hypbrid Electic/Diesel Evo XI with a suggested 0-60 of under 5 secs! http://pistonheads.co.uk/news/default.asp?storyId=24549 BTW Stu, don't suppose there any news of Subaru goinh ahead with a Diesel STi is there?
  12. The wheels are very ford mondeo-ish .. but the more I see the saloon the more I like it.. Infact I think I like it more than the hawkeye!
  13. Woohoo! I've learnt something today! Didn't know that..
  14. Insurance companies label EU imports as parallell imports... And are classed as import so generally their insurance costs more.. Once again completely dumb because EU cars are made to the same standard and spec as UK ones.. DCCD? Not 100% sure on that one being an option.. But it was fitted standard on the later blobeye STi's Maybe this one is just before the 2nd gen blobeye...
  15. Whole point of a demo car is that it gets "used"... But currently at 74k miles.. Bought when it was just under 40k and by then already had 4 or 5 registered owners But sunnyhill did put it through the painful 50k service before I got it Fair to say the car is in good hands now Even with the mods Was through North East way earlier this week, could of had a nosey... Not got any plans to head over that way soon though
  16. When I bought my car sunnyhill gave me a printout of the HPI check for my own piece of mind.. But I'd also done one myself so knew the story before hand... Was origonally the demo car for Town&County in aberdeen!
  17. Don't normally flash lights at folk when not in the scoob.. Get strange looks back at me... Give the odd wave from the Ka though since it has a SIDC sticker on teh rear window and SIDC tax disc holder..
  18. I bought my car from them 5 years ago.. Pleasure to deal with! They handle a lot of subaru & evo stuff so familar with what they sell. Gave me a decent trade in value on my previous car. I usually find their prices are reasonable for what you get.. Not as steep as some other places.. 10k for hte above seems a little high I will admit considering the current market.. Maybe knock another £500 > £1,000 off it... But that's what negotiation is for I would be more than happy to go back to them again...
  19. Will do! The guys's offshore at the mo until Nov 3rd. But will try get them done when he's back http://www.totaltrax.co.uk/ BTW - Spotted you on sunday evening between Lhanbryde and Elgin.. I didn't have the scoob at the time
  20. Out in the scoob for first time in a while.. Forgotten how many people let you out of junctions and let you overtake safely when coming up behind them ;)

  21. My preference is to get them painted rather than powder coated.. Infact my intention was to do it myself but not got the blasting cabnet built yet and the weather isn't really suitable for spraying now.. too cold & damp Looking like I'll probably just go with the place in Lossiemouth at £70/wheel.. Unless any last minute suggestions come along.. Will post back a review of the work if/when they get done.. Thanks for the feedback guys!
  22. Cheers for the thought.. But cost of getting them sent down there and back and getting tyres fitted would most likely outweigh the savings.. Good price though for anyone in that area
  23. Hmnn.. maybe my thoughts on pricing is outdated... PPS was top of my list for places to try.. Lots of good feedback about them and not just from scoobs.. Just a little out of the way.. Got a quote locally for £70/wheel which given the comments above doesn't sound as bad as I first thought... Hmnn...
  24. Getting quotes in for set of 4 wheels refurbed.. Was origonally thinking about £200 all in, but now looks like it's gonna cost a wee bit more than that... Tyre removal, dipped, blasted, repaired, painted, new tyres fitted and balanced.. How much?
