  2. I had a car overtake me on the A41 Aylesbury when the road was covered, you couldn't see the lines at all. All because he wouldn't wait behind a lorry! Silly people out there so take it easy and watch out for the loonies! Look out Kent tonight! forcast is for 10+ cm's
  3. At first I thought it was just a straight up slingshot! YIKES!! I thought when he tugged her back!
  4. Thanks for that HairyDJ, plenty of info to be going along with. Good point about the cost and that you're using their vehicles and consumables. The reason I quite fancied it is because it is designed to our sort of vehicles and Prodrive should know the product and what it can inside and out. Look forward to havng a chat on the 27th, catchya then.
  5. What ya going for next then smudga? To add to what I put... I test drove a Integra Type R before buying the WRX. I only needed a short drive to make my mind up, a short time later I bought the WRX. Let us know when you've driven both and how you got on???
  6. Damn! that is expensive. Typical Millbrook, they'll be taking a fair chunk of that price! Where are the details for that training day stormy and are there any places left? (don't worry, found the tread, hoping to get on) Cheers.
  7. Started my affair with scoobys with a sport, which I had for the best part of 5 years, then had a year and bit in a WRX and then went and got the STi. I can safely say they were all bought to drive []. Yes they were and are looked after but driving them comes first for me. Nothing against the show and shine's though as they all look the dogs danglies. Good thread though!
  8. I' moved up to the STi from a WRX last August. The running costs are a bit higher due to the parts on the car (bigger brakes for one). I've not really noticed the fuel consumption yet even though I'm getting 20'ish miles less to a tank of fuel. Wheels and tyres can be of the same size between the two although with the PPP installed they do recommend you go with the 18" wheel rather than the 17". You can look up prices for each on the web these days to give you an idea. Ditto what Billy said about the service costs. Call a dealer and ask them, it's what I did when I went from the impreza sport to the wrx. The service you want to find out about is the one where the Cam belt is changed as that in the main is the most costly. The main thing I've noticed on the perforamnce front is the increased torque rather than the BHP (even though that's gone up a fair bit []). Certainly makes a difference in propelling you forward at pace. You'll probably find that most 2nd hand STi's have the PPP already installed by the previous owner/s, so that is a bonus. I know mine was and there should be a A5 sized card receipt saying it has been, somewhere in the documents. I'd definently go and test drive both models before you spend the hard earned so you can feel the difference between the two models. Which ever one you go for I don't think you'll be dissapointed [Y] Best of luck.
  9. Hey, Really sorry to hear about the crash. I hope it all gets sorted pronto for ya and you're feeling better soon. I managed to rip the offside wheel off last august when a Passat smacked me (now they are one tough car god damn it!). As long as you're fully comp the insurance will pick up any storage fees so don't worry on that score. Mine was in the repairers within 2 days of the accident. Given the damage was mostly cosmetic and the wheel came out cleanly, as in where it broke, the repair was fairly straight forward. I had mine inspected afterwards by the RAC and the bloke was very happy with it. Drives just fine now thank goodness. So don't lose heart, these things are never nice but as long as all the people walk away then the car can be put back together. Chin up mate!
  10. Phone reliability depend on which provider you get it from also. I've got a 6280 from T-Mobile and it's been fine, a good phone, but every forum you look at where people have gotten the same phone but from 3, then they are having problems. It has an affect when the providers get hold of them and stick all their junk on them. Never been on O2 so can't say but if your previous phones have been reliable then there's a good chance the future ones will be to. Hope that helps a bit []
  11. All this bad weather caused power cuts so no one could get online... well it's one excuse []
  12. Cheers folks... look forward to hearing about it steve, have a good un! [Y]
  13. Sorry to hear about the trouble SP, it's really disheartening that you work hard for nice things and mindless idiots come along ruin it. Thank goodness the scooby was garaged. I know my first priority if I moved would be how secure the parking is. Shame it has to be this way in todays ASBO culture.
  14. Hey all, Has anyone been on the Prodrive track day experience? Just wondering if it's worth it and what, if any, people thought of it? Cheers
  15. Hey Suidges, Not sure on the first things but try Saxon Gate Motors of Biggleswade for the tyres (01767) 314125. I got four goodyear F1's for £350, well below what I was quoted elsewhere.
  16. sorry, have to go with Rae and SP... not my cup of tea but interesting none the less []
  17. I doubt the STi driver will get his repairs done without losing out even more. Shoot the scumbag!
  18. I agree, TomTom everytime. Try and go for a middle priced version if you can coz you get more maps pre-installed. The Bluetooth phone option on some of the models is not that great but as a SatNav it's the best brand on the market. Happy shopping!
