RIGHT! lets see.. where to start! Firstly thanks to all you good folks that I met and were so helpful to me on my first day out! There's no ACTUAL pictures of me on the track yet.. but I WAS there.. I can prove it with the gearbox rebuild bill that is to follow from todays fun... explaination; APPARENTLY the 99/2000 wrx is famous for 3rd gear cooking, so thats what happened to me today - so quite an expensive day out, but so much fun while it lasted ..Its just a motorsport learning curve I guess! Also - does anyone know who was in the BLUE WAGON? Because they will have a highly amusing video of me exiting the pit lane, and spinning off after the second corner! He was right behind me with the camera rolling.. i'd love to see that! .. I had got used to the instuctors laps and forgot to account for tyres cooling down. Pure inexperience really. circuit fee £96 fuel £50 octane booster £20 slicks hire £75 30 mins of pure enjoyment: feckin pricey as it turns out! after this fiveundredquid rebuild. live+learn. I will be back, and i'll try to bring some more talent next time. I'll get some on eBay or something.

for example the classic WRX in japan was 273bhp standard, whereas the equivelant UK2000 was I think 215bhp. Also the no rust thing, due to the japanese not salting their roads etc.

unfortunately its the same guy though. Interesting reading indeed, there are some cracking paragraphs in the BBC link http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/taysid...ral/6949646.stm like the sheriffs judgement;

This really upsets me. The Skyline GT-R and the classic scoob had such beautiful lines, aggressive and looked like they were carved out of solid stone. They SHOULD have progressed the design naturally, and exactly as they had been for the past decade, with bolder, chunkier lines, maintaining their stance. IMO the Evo got a little 'transformer' like after the VI, the skyline became an executive saloon when they adopted the 350 look and, well, the scoob is a sad sad story indeed. Y2K forced an emergency redesign and they somehow came up with a bugeye, and 'progressed' to an astra '08. Progression it ain't.

I got them new recrntly - Brand new they are £1500 bucks, so i'd say a grand would be a fair price if they're in perfect nick. 800 ish if not?

one of the coppers helping to lock the roads off was a right wind-up merchant and told the locations assistant that the db5 DOES have an ejector seat! She went round tellling everyone all day!
-
maybe aston wouldn't have to take it away so much if he didn't do that! defies comprehension... ac!D cheers mate! i'm a sound recordist freelance like.

had rather a nice day yesterday with some aston martins, thought i'd share - one of the best days at 'work' ever! check out the sound of this DBS, someone told me it has two mondeo engines in it.. that can't be right can it? wouldn't aston make their own engine? Who knows about these things? dbs fast dbs passes db5 start db5 run and the DB5 isn't too siht either.. its not a quick car but is still drool worthy. I was told what it costs, and you don't even get rockets or ejector seats! more pics here

Right I see - guess I wasn't paying full attention hehe. still - 6k is pretty cheap, I was hoping to sell mine for 7.5k (when the time's right.) hopefully never.

a co worker the other day reeled me in.. "is that yours?.. whats that thing at the back there, the, um..." "spoiler?" "yeah, it does a bit." -
took the words from my mouth.. I would get subaru to design the classic that the bugeye SHOULD have been.. its in my head as a classic with a slightly wider front grill, slightly angrier lights, wider wings and bolder lines. just a natural progression of classic design. unfortunately in 2000 the subaru design department had big Y2K problems, the CAD systems lost all previous work and they drafted in some 3 year olds to design their new impreza.

oh come on, it was funny.

anyone know if they'll have instructors available? do they cost anything?
-
Nah, this one's the only way to go. hehe this was my old scoob.. a £90k camera precariously sticking out of a 5k car ;0) Needles to say I wasn't driving.

Does anyone on here know where I might be able to borrow a lowloader or a fixed tow bar? I forget the dates off hand but i'll find out later today for sure, but it would be for a couple of days in december I think. any fingers pointed in the right direction would be sweet, Cheers, Chris.

Intresting. what about reactalite style tints? .. ones that get darker in bright light and lighter in darkness. whilst they might fail the police test in bright conditions, they will easily pass at night, conditions for which the law is written.

i'm going to be doing this very soon as well.. duncan recommended the tein super street with upper mount £893 from tein. no clue how difficult or how much they are to fit though. definately open to other suggetions though, so i'm gona keep an eye on this thread.

the film "outlaw" features a dark blue classic, menacing hard. I wonder why a scoob wasn't in Fast and Furious? they had most other cars in it.

Last night I broke out the old PlayStation2 and attempted to drive round the Ring in a Scooby, and this has raised an important question. - How much is insurance for doing this kind of thing? -
