  5. LOL haha, no I haven't, certainly not for a whole tank! I was working on the basis its a 700mile round trip and I get 200 miles to a tank (70 quids a tank) owww I know I'm awestruck at what you have organised here Imy, really - its incredible, and i'd love to be a part of it - I was gonna bring my sister down as she loves scoobys, but she cancelled so I'd have noone to split the cost with. my two mortgages, two cars, and freelance wages all feel a wee bit wee bit stretched. whip-round for the poor? lol. Chris.
  6. had to drive from Edinburgh to a place called wanlockhead this morning for a meeting and discovered my new favourite road! in between abington and wanlockhead its only a stretch of about 4 miles, but you can see clearly around every twist for oncoming traffic so you can just keep it in 4th and go- had an blast! I bet collectively we know loads of these types of roads, so any of your favourites spring to mind? On a sadder note, this road pushed me into the very unfortunate decision to cancel my mcrae gathering trip  I just can't afford the fuel!! Its gonna be about 250 quids of fuel and thats a lot of whiteline-love.. There's SO much I want to do to the car and finances are just too critical at the moment. My respects to the great man will have to be done from home, in a turmoil of jelousy of all you guys. ..and as if to rub it in, my sticker had arrived when I got home!

  8. glad you have stopped by - just don't hand over any cash till the experts here chime in mate..
  9. maybe someone should report the item?
  10. nice one, think i'll get a sticker now anyway.. cheers for the head up on accomm, i'll look into it now!!
  11. I take it I'm 4 months too late to sign up for this? on one part of the website it say the cutoff for stickers is 14th August, and in another part it says to allow 28 days for delivery! pretty sure accommodation will be near impossible now too but then, I haven't tried yet!
  12. no it was ecutek - it ran at around 310 bhp on a hot day. Well, before I got the map I also had a cat - so my only experience is that removing cat + map gave a much smoother boost, rather than it coming in waves. I didn't do a rolling road with it pre map but the guy I bought it off it said about 290 or so. so what exactly does that apexi contraption do? Cos I reckon there would just be a lot of important numbers I could fiddle with and ruin everything.
  13. redline is 7k on wrx's i thought.... whatever it is when I was getting it mapped andy said he usually tweaks his maps to make one fit but for this he had to do one pretty well from scratch, nothing he already had was close. I haven't driven many other scoobs, but people who drive this who have, tend to be quite impressed.. which is nice. as you may've noticed i'm not fully geeked up on the details, I pay the experts to take care of it and keep it healthy, all I care about is that it drives great and puts a silly grin all over my face. .. like this one -->
  14. good question.. I've been trying to figure this out for a while.. ; I know it started life as a 99wrx, but the car was factory fitted with all sorts of extras, amongst them STI bits like aluminium panels and sti suspension and the redline is at 7500rpm, which must mean something was also done to the engine. Certainly is a very responsive drive, i really love it, whatever it is!!
  15. hooray! my first confirmed sighting!! yeah the silver polo, right? nice one, and thank you! I find the handling pretty superb in the wet on my nearly dead eagle-f1's. definately never touch snow, but she still feels really stuck onto the road in the rain, so I still use it!
  16. hi mate, The instructions said you have to clean the area with alcohol cleaner, then heat up the area and the badge with a hairdryer (so that it curves to the domed surface) and press firmly. However, with the manufacturers stickiness it just fell off after a day, so I just used some toupee tape without heating and its sticking awesomely. I use it for sticking microphones to people at work all the time - its super sticky double sided tape and you can get it on eBay, or john lewis. taking the old one off is very easy, just lever it off with a flathead and it comes off fine! cheers, Chris.
  17. excellent description mate, thanks v much!!
  18. hmm cant get that link to work.. its item number 260269449853
  19. what about this one? its in glasgow so you could check it out more easily. I know nothing about if its the right one or whatever though.
  20. two big yellow stripes up the bonnet, over the winscreen, across the roof and down the back! nice and subtle! hehe. i like seeing graphics on other scoobs, but I don't think its really, er, .. me. who's got photoshop to hand?
  21. i can vouch for them, got some a few weeks ago and like em alot!
  22. thanks stu and wulsey - she is a joy! that ferkin cracked me up for ages when I read that mate. i'm not sure - i don't wanna risk chavving it though, open to suggestions. maybe just yellow samcos under the bonnet, .. not sayin then it'll be finished! ..its never finished.
  23. cheers John!! noooo no no no no no x 100 I didn't think I'd be up to that.. I got it from an eBay seller who makes custom badges, gave him my specs and he did a first rate job, but before I could leave him feedback his account was taken off eBay! very odd. top job, for a fiver! canny complain! ..so while all you guys are getting your ppg kits and 2.5 conversions, there's me planning my next mod of a yellow STI badge for the boot lid.
  24. I was going to ask the same thing... anyone?
