  1. I cannot understand this either.. they say "protected no claims" means that your NCB will remain intact, but they don't tell you that protects NCB's are irrelevant to insurance companies since you have to tell them about any claim made anyway, regardless of fault! whats the bleeding point then!?
  2. got round to me yellow badge yesterday! thought i'd just post up a pic, and if anyone sees me round edinburgh coming towards ye, geez a wave!!
  3. bloody hell! I don't think they'd worry about a decat.. would they?
  4. Wow you know, a few years ago I was stopped at the l;ights next to a matt black classic with a wide arch kit and led lights front and rear (leds not usually my taste) and I swear it was the best looking scoob I have ever seen - like a police car from robocop. Has anyone ever heard of this car?? The MATT paint looked kind of, well, like a RUBBER coating or something.. really, really nice.
  5. Just seen this thread - Lookin fine John! I very much like the burnt-orange theme.. where did you get your wheels coated and how much were they mate? sorry if you've already said I must've missed it.
  6. If you add more paint you'll be adding more weight! sand it down to nuddy buff.. that kind of attention to weight-reducing detail should scare the opposition! ..not that they'd need any more scaring after looking under the bonnet awesome andy!
  7. v nice mate - tidy car! love the wheels on that colour scoob too! who is M Shek and J Shek?
  8. cool - sounds like just the sort of thing that I would screw up! still could buy a spare and try it! cheers.
  9. Hmm, haven't thought of yeallow wheels! maybe a photochop call is in order!! ANYONE? KH, I didn't think of that either! maybe I'll go up for an hour or so yeah - maybe see you there.. ..5h1t better get it together then its 11 oclock already!
  10. haha no - its just the wee bits on the seats.. I came up with two pic showing it, one at knockhill .. featuring sir higgy.. and still fancy a yellow badge on the front - not the most ambitious of mods, I know.
  11. NICE!!!!! whats the plan for this one then Gus?
  12. Now that my car is fine i went and fit these mudflaps, and I really rather like them, although i've just noticed the left rear ones a bit squint. the trim in my scoob interior is yellow so i'm going to theme-out the bits and peices in yellow, like getting yellow samco hoses for the engine et al. anyone know where I can get a yellow badge made for the front? I couldn't take a decent pic though, tips from experts welcomed! oh - and the second photo shows where I had to drill a new hole in the metal - is that safe, or is that the fuel tank?
  13. ok I feel silly.. mega obvious as it was its the battery connection. D'oh! I'm looking for the delete-thread/save-embarassment button, but alas, there isn't one. has this reset my ECU? do I need to train it again?
  14. thanks frank got your PM with mikeys number, I'll try him when I'm down at the car.. muchly appreciated man.
  15. Hi Frank, thanks for your help, I'm in leith.. when I get a second i'll go down and check all batt connections again properly, but It seems strange that would be the problem, since it felt like it was the key actions that led to the probelm, you know?
  16. Electrics Shorted / Car Is Immobilised, help - dead scooby ! Hi when I turned the key to start it up, I pulled back on the key a little before the engine had started and now everything is dead! No dash lights, no central locking, no alarm etc.. everything! I actually had to put the key in the door to lock it! I hope is just a fuse or something huh.gif its a 98 WRX import and toad alarm. any help greatly apreciated! Chris.
  17. all cool, I bought that one from scoobynet, it arrived and steve whitson from SW motorsport fitted it and I picked it up last week! its not an upgrade, but and least its educated me about gearboxes and what they're capable of, so i'll be taking it more easy on this one! so now its the handling blitz, new tyres, then detailing, then wheel refurb, then a smattering of engine mods.. THEN i'm finished. ..until PPG, of course, and then i'll need a new twin plate clutch too.. then i'm finished.
  18. sorry peter i didnt understand that
  19. I've heard too many people now, saying that the teins are too much geared for smooth roads, and thats not what we have here in scotland - especially edinburgh. I'm not going to spend 650 on coilovers that make the car a nightmare to drive on a regular basis, i'd much rather scrape together somehow, the 1000 I need to make the car enjoyable on our ridiculous roads.
  20. gosh that sounds familiar! how about a scottish scoobies group buy on PPG.
  21. So how do the AST's behave differently compared to TEIN's on the rough stuff?
  22. I was going to be getting Tein super streets until I was alerted to the existence of AST suspension. I'm just going to go for the ones without the top mounts.
  23. I think its time to crack out the large font for this. classics rule! This sexy black hawkeye was posted by g.mac a while ago and really is the first newage thats turned my head in any serious way but apart from that, it is all about the 99 / 00 classics for me, I just wish subaru had evolved the classic design even further. With more striking, aggressive and bolder lines, but is essentially still a classic shape.
  24. hey! he said that to me too. i feel cheap!
