  2. thanks stephen its certainly been a journey to remember and anyone can do it,its just not as easy as it looks lol
  3. looks good mate, are you using breather filters on the heads/crank instead of catch can?
  4. well thats the end to this thread. set 2 targets when sourcing parts /speccing the car,500bhp and a 1/4 mile in the 11's. made the 11's yesterday and the car on the road is probably 500bhp or thereabouts, dont know if i'll put it on the rollers to be sure but happy enough with the outcome.not bad for standard internals and still using top mount! til stage 2 bye bye
  5. thats a great result mate i should be at crail too on the 8th june, maybe get a wee run against it lol
  6. fitting an induction kit without remap will give you hee haw gains and only trouble. if you feel the need to change the air filter then sti or green are good. personally i would spend my money on something else entirely unless your going to upgrade other parts as well and re-map.just my personal opinion of course
  7. didnt realise i had done so well andy, just a bit frustrated i suppose but theres always next time did subaru build a better newage than the bugeye spec c ra? i doubt it ps.nice drifting at knockers
  8. best 60' was 1.91.all were round about 1.9-2.1 which is poor considering the old was car seeing 60' times as low as 1.5!car seemed to be launching then clutch was slipping temporarily and then it would go,once in 2nd gear it was going really well.need to try and get more heat in the clutch before the line?still not sure about the launch control tbh.will try a few launches without it next time and see how it goes. overall i was happy getting in the 11's but i know the car is capable of better.was getting peak boost of around 1.85 bar, which i thought was good considering the top mount/waiting in queue. cheers jim
  9. cheers andy cars going really well, just hope i can do it justice next time jim

  11. does anyone know if the list above does the auto number thing?
  12. apart from the engine going, which had obviously served its purpose over the last 3 seasons it looks like a productive first outing in the new car john when does the new block arrive?
  13. good pics/vid chris.i think peter was giving me a bit of a start. both of us got in the 11's today, although a world apart,i managed an 11.95. really struggled to launch it today so a bit more practice needed,at least the terminal speed is showing theres a bit left in the car yet. as for peter well what can i say, ever so close to the 10's with an 11.08! well done mate until next time nice to meet jc scoob today and also kevametal(scoobyless now)
  14. took the car over to progrip on wednesday and well pleased with the way its handling now. didn't go for anything too aggressive(for now anyway).liked the way john goes about his business,no hash bash there you go and was there almost 2 hours.total cost £55+vat. well worth a visit if you need your geometry set up and thanks to the other john(st) for pointing me in the right direction
  15. higgy's time is a bit special for a newage(i'll just be happy getting in the 11's) good luck on sunday to awd
  16. yea definately mate but if i was doing it again it would be the bug spec c again. nearly classic weight with a stiffer chassis, quality big chap!
  17. ffs john give me a chance lol.but if i do then the 2.5 goes very well with a 321t blowing it along
  18. yea i know mate i'm the original failed drifter, your car will spool up a bit quicker once you make the necessary changes cheers gareth no worries mate, thats me content for a while i just wish i could drive it to its limits and post up a vid mate but that will take a while. glad you've enjoyed the thread though, its been quite a journey. cheers for the reminder stephen,my only dilemma is what to replace it with if i do it again?
  19. yea the tunnel was funny mate,i thought i had told you i was getting the als. the look on your face was priceless lol not sure if i'll be venturing onto the track in the near future mate a lot of learning how to drive it first
