Had my radiator burst last night, only thing is, I was on my way back from Skye at the time... I was in dromnadrochit about half way up loch ness, and to be honest I wasn't really sure on what to do... But I got some cracking advice from Grant which got me all the way home, I was getting a bit paniky there like!!! Thanks Mate!

Heh, yeah, Party at Russell's!!! Woo Hoo!!!! in other news, I'm just going to fire off a quick pm to you about those gauges Russell...

Help Required - Trying To Fit A New Head Unit.
thefastone replied to lok-stock's topic in Scottish Scoobies
As far as I'm aware, some double din head units do sit out a few mm... although, I know what you mean, probably looks best being flush... -
I thought you had gauges fitted in your car already Cal?
-
Safe! Yeah Ive just renewed my insurance with them, and again all mods declared, 550... nearly under the 500 mark! Happy as Larry... Well, as happy as Larry could be for having to lash out all that money every year!!!!
-
Are Drilled Discs not prone to cracking?
-
Russell, You at home just now? I'm guessing no... reason is telling me your on night shift... but I'm living in hope... Also, do you still have the set sitting that will fit my car...?
-
Nah, they all do that of you put the boot in enough LOL!!! And yeah Dunk, I know that the Shed was a one off, but its a prime example of what happens if you dont keep it in check... Ive already had the whole roof on this car resprayed at T&Cs cost because it was corroding, the paint was getting all bubbly... I wouldn't have liked to have paid for that myself... aparently the corrosion was all over the roof, more that I thought from the looks of the paint... Like I say, its not all doom... just keep an eye...

You know reading this, I'm a little surprised, dont get me wrong, I figured that this would be a hotter topic for some than for others, but the reactions... Yeah... I think that some of them a BIT more heated than I expected... I dont really think myself that this is the place to be getting into a slagging match, as at the end of the day, we all want the same thing, for the money to get to the kids, whatever way it can... and to be fair, I dont know, at the meets, when it was brought up, I was kinda for it, and kinda against it... but for different reasons... As far as I am aware, the Aberdeen Santa Cruise is still going ahead as planned to the sick kids at Forresterhill hospital... Yes, I think that its a great idea to give to Jerviswood and I would love to put some money there... but... there is a few things that niggle me about that... not big things mind... and I'll say them here, although, I'm not trying to be offensive, or take sides, or tread on anyones toes by doing this... I'm not getting involved beyond this... Firstly, Jerviswood is a great cause... and yes I do back it, but my thoughts are that, what with the events of a few weeks ago, and the familys asking for the donations and also the collection points on the day of the service, I think that they have probably taken in a huge sum in the past few weeks... an I'm in no doubt that they will continue to take in a great amount for a while yet... with this in mind I wonder, how much help the Sick kids gets through the year... Secondly, as someone pointed out, we are having a big event next year, I think August has been mentioned? going to Prodrive, and doing all that, and I would really like to see us do some really good work in the run up to that to make sure that we have a fantastic donation to Jerviswood then... otherwise, I just feel that they are getting a big amount off us twice in under a year, and our other charity, who there are many here who clearly feel very strongly about, is getting nothing from us... I think that perhaps just to balance it out more than anything else... But I think that both charitys are gaining from our support by keeping things the same... another train of thought comes from a comment, on a kinda unrelated topic, On Aberdeen Scoobies earlier on today, with the bad image that we have been taking from the younger guys that are buying imprezas cheap and then terrorizing the world with them, to give to the community, thats another reason to stay with the local charitys, I think that it would help the club no end in raising the profile of the club by giving directly to the community... Now I am sure that the nominated charitys do good work.... but you dont always know where the money goes, and the general public have no idea where it comes from, or where it goes to... I know, I'll be honest here, right now that I dont know where the money in big charitys goes.... Well I dont know, I think basicly, I in a way mirror the views of G.Mac, I'm just being honest about it all, I have to say that I do admire the work that goes into organising these events and all the work that goes on in the background to make it all possible, I really dont want to see that go to waste, at the end of the day, no matter where it goes, I will support the decision of the poll, as regardless someone is going to see the benefit! thanks for listening... Dale.

Hey man, Looking for wagons, you cant go wrong, Fair play they are not everyones cuppa, but I like them also, as far as the difference between wangons and saloons go, there is very little differnce, the engine, suspension, interior, is all the same, only difference is the back end, it sticks out in stead of in... that in mind, there should be no difference between them... all parts should fit both except spoilers and tail lights... Looking at that car tho, that is an older model, and to be honest, you may well have to do a bit more work on them. I used to have an N reg wagon (1.8 tho) and I did have a lot of problems before I got shot, Although I wished I could have both cars!!! He says thers some scabbing on the bonnet and boot, you really need to get that seen to, sharpish, rust is common around the hing areas on the bonnet, and I know I had bad rust around the boot handle. also, check the roof, Imprezas are prone to the roof rusting, espacially along where the windscreen joins the roof... again, these are all things my last wagon had... the roof was bad enough that everytime they changed the windscreen, they couldn't promise it would seal (it was always fine tho...) also, Looking at the pics, they are deffinitly NOT STi wheels... they are standard uk turbo wheels... I'm giving a set away later on today... curious they way that he says WRX style interior... mmmm... yeah... And finally, its been Decatted and has a funky backbox, but the rest of the system (that only leaves the centre section?) I imagine at that age, will most likly not be too heathy...? unless its been replaced... probably be best to get a SS centre section... Now, I'm not trying to scare you here, but just make sure you know what you are buying, better to go in with eyes open as it were... and you might find that this car has none of those problems... but you still need to check, better to not have any surprises later on...
-
You may be Biased, but I have to say that YES! That is a cracking pic, I was just wondering whos car that was.... guess thats my question answered!

Impreza Crash In Aberdeen. Anyone On Here?
thefastone replied to plsteve's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hmmm 22... Hilton, Drive... to do that kind of damage, you need to be doing a LOT more than 30mph... also, the wall is, sorry was, almost certainly Granite... I'm afraid, I'm doing the maths here... 2+2=Tosser! I'd love to be wrong, but theres no way that that kind of accident should ever happen in a 30mph zone... oh and at 3pm, theres schools in that area too... thats kicking out time for them also... Nah, I'm not wrong... I hope the guys car is a write off and that he gets nothing for it! -
Well you can use any you like from me Flickr Account, (just uploaded some more too... with a few more to come) just tell me if you want any and I'll sort you out the Hi res versions...

Anyone Recommend A Car Sprayer In Aberdeen
thefastone replied to plsteve's topic in Scottish Scoobies
So its not just me then, I dont care I never paid for it, but having to get it sprayed TWICE, I was not best happy with that... I just wonder why T&C use him (still cant remember his name, JC? is it?) I'm guessing that he's mega cheap for them... and I know that Gordon dont like spending a lot of money unless he has to.... -
Really? I never knew that they were that small... ah well hapy now that I never went for them Like I was GOING to... but then also, I'm only running 17" wheels, so you know they might just look bigger in my car... But yeah, I have to say that the prodrive kit is pretty sexy like!! Yeah andy, get thebigger discs on, You KNOW it makes sense!

Not so sure about those particular flaps like, but I suppose they do look good on there... But the Spoiler defo works for me like!

Anyone Recommend A Car Sprayer In Aberdeen
thefastone replied to plsteve's topic in Scottish Scoobies
I think Craig Mac and a few others swear by another guy just south of aberdeen, near Portlethan I think.... or theres the guy that T&C use out on the same site as Maitland motors on the south Deeside road, but to be honest He did the roof of my car, and yes, It was a good job, but I think that he also managed to take the lacquer off my door at the same time... So I'd probably go with some of the other suggestions first...
