  1. Well it wasn't quite as dramatic as Ed made it sound. Yeah, those would look good, but I wouldn't be able to carry that off, besides, there is no connection with that sort of design on a Subaru. Yes, gauges fitted. I'll post up some pics soon.
  2. Wassup with the plate?
  3. Its easy done. If it was 64 or even 54, then that would be a different matter.
  4. Yeah, that's what I was meaning. Given your position, they're thinking that you are not a nut-job like the rest of us! Thus, cheaper insurance as opposed to a discount. It is a great price though.
  5. LOL!!!! The very one! Is it a bird, is it a plane NOOO! Its the Welsho!!!!!!!!! Hahahaha!
  6. I bought them from Ed-209. I thnk they are the "Auto Gauges" brand, They look pretty good, there is one for Oil Temp, Oil Pressure and Boost pressure...
  7. Well if they do, you'll be getting it fur nuttin! Anything to do with your job, getting it that cheap?
  8. Frank, been called a lot of things in my time, but no one has ever called me gay!!! Yes, I have a sports cat on my car, but as far as passing an emmisions test, I have no idea in practice, only the say-so of others as to whether it will pass an MOT or not. AndyF told me during mapping that a full decat would be worth another 20 or 30 bhp (if I remember correctly). Not really worth the hassle of using an illegal system (I get pulled for number plates, no need to give plod more reasons to pull me!). In the end, my car got 343/400 with the sports cat and VF34, plenty for me (hahaha, we'll see about THAT - says the little devils voice on my shoulder!). If you are not concerned about numbers, why even bother? If its sound, I can't say that the sound of my car is really any louder with the sports cat.
  9. Oh is that what it was, I thought you were just showing off!
  10. PCD is not a factor in tyre sizes. If you imagine a circle, where the circumference of the circle passes through the centre of the studs and then measure the diameter of said circle; this gives you the PCD of your wheels. In STi models from 05 onwards, this was extended to 114.3mm to make a stronger attachment of the wheel to the hub.
  11. What do the values 7.5 and 8 refer to?
  12. Superb! Car looks stunning, cool pics as well. Man, I need to do this too, not looking forward to it; AT ALL!
  13. Used the cash to get my gauges fitted. BTW, the wheels you have are Prodrive PF7s, which are 17inch versions of the PFF7s
  14. Hope you get it sorted out mate.
  15. Im sure there will be mate. But don't leave it too long. As Paul says, check the SIDC shop.
  16. Aye I think they would have, but I sold them a few days ago mate. Ah, you missed a real bargain!
  17. Ah yes! On closer inspection of your avatar, I see your car is of the Classic variety.
  18. Jeez, what a mess! Need some lowering springs on that bad-boy too.
  19. Prodrive settings will cause excessive inner-tread wear. That said, I got 20k out of my tyres (Khumo). If you keep an eye on them and rotate them once in a while, that will help. As for me, I have changed to fast road settings. Dunno the settings but the man that did the geometry knew them. J
  20. Well, if you do sell and therefore become Scoobless, you will soon realise wether or not it was the right decision: absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. Fortunately, if it is the wrong decision, you can always buy another one and get back in again, so its not the end of the world.
  21. Nothing wrong with them, doesn't mean we can improve on them though, does it? BTW, what flavour of tree did you go for, I have been thinking about this mod for a long time, but can't decide...
  22. Happened to me when I installed a bigger turbo. I decided to boot it before I got it mapped to see what would happen. A very foolish thing to do. Just as you said, felt like I slammed into a brick wall. I experienced boost-cut as the ECU wasn't able to deal with the extra boost so in the interest of protecing things, it simply cuts the power. So yeah, sounds like over boosting. My CEL came on as well though, but went out about 5 hours later.
  23. What pipe is this? Is that the short one after the downpipe (3rd cat, or 2nd cat if its MY06+ ), or are you talking about a full decat?
  24. For the sake of 10bhp, is it really worth spending that kind of money? If it were I, I'd forego the decat and heat wrap and go for the bigger turbo and wait until I had the funds to fit and map in the same week. If you fir the turbo without the map, you MUST tread very carefully until its mapped. AFAIK, you can (as others have) run with the full decat without the map, but not at full tilt (again I know some who have), but this seems like taking too much of a risk to me. The perfect solution would be to fit the bigger turbo and decat all at the one time, and I think you'd see more benift from your decat in that situation. Hope that helps. As far as concentrating on handling mods: good choice!
  25. I like the look of the nice shiny metal, but not a fan of oval exhausts though. Sounds real good though!
