  2. Stephen, were did you get the rubber? Not that I am in a position to buy right now, but I will have to, sooner or later! Slower in, faster out... I'll try! See you there!
  3. OH YES YOU DO!
  4. The Chelsea Tractor comment was not made in reference to the machines performance, but its body-styling, so not ignorance. Also, I have watched Top Gear and the comparison between the WRX and the Forrester, so I know that there is not much difference to them in standard format. All I said was that making performance mods to off-road vehicles didn't make sense to me, thats all and for reference, how many 4x4s do you see at track days and 1/4 miles etc.? I'm sure there will someone who has done it, but they are the exception, not the rule. I just think a performance car should have performance looks to match, if you know what I mean. And why am I sitting here writing a book when I have a new rocket in teh driveway begging to be played with!? I'm off!!!! Have fun with your 4x4 gents!
  5. Eek! I better keep oot his way for a wee while!
  6. Oh! thanks for all the comments, I feel kinda special! LOL! Dunc welcome to a pax anytime. Parts used: VF34 Turbo (Jimser's old one), HKS decat uppipe (also Jimsers), Sports cat downpipe (Meercat) and re-map (AndyF - who else?!). I need to adjust to the new power. On the way home I pulled out to pass a car on a back road, hit the gas and had some wheel spin! Had to back off and use the power more progressively. Also, getting shot of the Khumos in favour of some nice new Eagle F1s would help and must be priority. Hmmm, how do I get the missus to part with another £450.... Thanks again!
  7. Just back from my visit to see AndyF. Cannot belive the transformation, its like driving a new car. Mid range acceleration is unreal, it just pulls and pulls and pulls and pulls! The VF34 certainly packs a punch, I can even hear the standard dump valve blowing off (or does it recirc?)! Hehe! Lots of smiles; nice to meet you Frank! Figures are as follows: Just under 340 BHP and 380 - 390 Lbft of lovely torquey stuff - Fantastic! A wee graph:
  8. Thanks gents: I'll let you know how it all goes!
  9. Performance mods for a Chelsea tractor? Something doesn't seem right about that. but as the SIDC cry goes, "each to his own". If I were in your position, I'd blow it all on the Impreza. Good luck with it though, enjoy. John
  10. Funny guys!
  11. LOL! Yeah one sleep til Santa. Hope it goes well??? What can go wrong????
  12. Yeah, its a sheet of paper with the company name at the top containing a list of the things they charged you for.
  13. Nice one! Especially after the horror crashes he had.
  14. Yeah, that's a good point. i'm going to get my body work artexed. 5
  15. The light has gone out all by itself!
  16. How do I do that?
  17. I have fitted to my MY06 WRX, a sports cat downpipe and swapped out the TD04 for the VF34. The existing CATless uppie was replaced in favour of a wrapped uppipe. The re-map is being done on Tuesday. Was driving today, and decided to squeeze the gas a little bit to feel the car out. I pushed it to 5k and I suddenly felt a jolt and I was thrown forward as though I hit a wall! The engine light came on. I recovered my composure, kept the car running and drove home keeping the car in the 3k rev range (ish) with no problems. The car starts up, idles fine and drives ok. Other than fuel-cut, is there anything else I should worry about. Also, the engine light won’t go out, is there anything I can do to make it go out before I get it mapped? Feel free to lambaste me for being an a55!
  18. Yes, this is a good point, and I know that Coulty has done much for the community of drivers. No one can make a quick buck at our expense if we choose not to buy what they are selling. Also, having a membership doesn't make people suddenly trustworthy either. Only my opinion!
  19. I'll tell you on Tueday!
  20. Be sure to post pics!
  21. Mine didn't, that was my point. I have a WRX and the uppie does not have a cat in it. I guess Subaru discarded that idea when they went to the Hawkeye design. I fitted a wrapped decatted uppipe that came from a Blobeye STi. It was not an original Subaru pipe though (HKS I think), so I am assuming that it replaced a cat. Does Kinghorn drive an STi?
  22. Hmmm, that, and the fact that it gives us less buying options as well.
  23. Not so clever now, are we, headmistress?
  24. At least he's got an Scoob.
