Trading in the black beast

I'm thinking of trading in the black beast for the new RB320....

Bought new in Jun/Jul.

all fitted when new - PPP + Prodrive lowering kit + PFF7 18" alloys + mudflaps + front splitted + Prodrive gear "nob" + tinted windaes

9,500 miles, absolutely as new

Whaddya reckon a fair trade-in price is?

T&C are telling me £9k to change come march, which I think is similar to a sharp kick in the nuts in terms of how my car has depreciated in light of spending just over 31 'G's on it.....

Opinions and nuggets of useful info appreciated.

Cheers

Perhaps I'm just mad, but I'd keep it. Yes the RB320 is nice, but realistically you'll just be paying for the name and the trick suspension kit as you have everything else by the look of it.

I agree Bry[;)]

As St3ph3en and Craig have already said why spend more money on something you already have.

Just buy the badge and stick it on the back m8 [;)]

Youll save yourself a wad of cash [Y]

Thanks for the comments guys [;)] [H]

I'm still serious about getting the RB320 however, cos it will have amongst other things:-

1) Virtually no miles on it

2) Black leather RB interior

3) Pucka prodrive developed suspension

3) Those tasty black alloys

4) And above all - it'll be quite rare and a real headturner[Y]

So with my blatant disregard to any common sense, what would be a fair trade-in price for my motor? Are T&C sadly quite correct with their offer, or should they be coughing up a better deal?

Thanks again

T&C are taking the pi$$ and their prices are consistently high for buyers and low for trade-ins... IMO, if you are dead set on getting an RB, give Mako a PM on here.. he's at the Subaru Dealership in Perth and might be able to give you a better deal.

However, if I was you, I'd keep your car and spunk money on some uprated suspension/handling mods and maybe a few engine mods too.

It’s sad to say but T&C offer of £21000 ish for your car
is a fair one m8 even though they will still try and sell it for around the £23K to £24K
mark just like any other Subaru dealer in the country.

Ok the car costs around £27000 new plus £4000 - £5000 for
all the prodrive extras making it very costly to buy new but that’s what
happens when you start to tick all the option boxes.

Even though you ticked all the option boxes when buying it dealers will
still value the car as a UK STi with 9500 miles on the clock.

I would go for the RB 320 but T&C want £22500 from me to
change.

Alright Bry, hows life at WG  [;)] I'm your fifer mate Lennys freind Iain, remember me? I used to have a blue bug eye thing before I sold it for the Clio V6.

Anyway on topic, you'd be mad to trade your motor in to t&c for that money. 9k could be spent on handling and performance improvements that will make your Scoob really stand out. However I do see where you're coming from, thinking about the 320 myself. Still have a craving for the flat four even though the v6 does sound ...almost as good!

Life's too short.........

If you fancy the RB320 then go for it

If you can afford it and can squeeze T&C a bit on the trade in then I  say "yes"

I can see both sides of the argument but it would look shaweet on yer driveway

why not take off all the extra's sell them seperately to make some of the money that your loosing back? But £21000 is a bit on the low side for a trade in especially as you'll see yor car on the forecourt for 23 to 24k

black leather optional, comes with the same interior as your car standard, all the other bits including the graphics would be available from your local dealer........keep the car you have m8 as an rb320 started life as the same car as yours.

I agree with Gav.  I've thought about your situation a LOT after our wee chat this afternoon Brian and I would personally keep your motor and spend a few quid putting Teins and some other goodies on it. Anyway, Like Noel says "Deal or no deal" you've got a gorgeous motor.[:o]

You car is stunning and defo not worth the financial hit for the RB320 IMO. Having said that though, if you a desperate to get it, you will only regret not doing it. But as most have said, with the 9k you'd spend on the RB320 you'd be able to evolve your car into something really pretty special, or should I say, more special. My vote for what it's worth: Keep it.

i would say theyre not far away with their trade in price, yes its a rip off but thats how trade ins go for most cars these days especially scoobs sad to say. you could try getting a price from a few non subaru dealers against random cars to give you an idea of how far out they are- that should really spoil your day! my dad had the same trouble with a bmw 330d, he put every option on it then found after a couple of months and 1500 miles that he just didnt get on with it trade in price from supplying dealer was 12 grand less than retail!personally id stick with what youve got and get a nice leather retrim with the change [:D] but if you can square it with your bank manager and you really want it...

Keep what you have mate[Y] Its a seriously nice car and as Gav n Russ have said you can get everything the RB320 has and much, much more for your £9k.

Just my tuppence worth[:$]
