Hello and Welcome..

I de-catted my exhaust, fitted a Green panel filter , had it re-mapped , f/rear Droplinks , Alk , and still to fit Rear Arb with h/duty mounts. ...[:(][Y]

Howdy mate

There is a mixed response on here on modding the scooby.  From my personal experience from my previous turbo charged motor was not good once I started messing about with mods for more BHP.  I found to my pockets cost that as soon as I chipped it, put a exhaust and filter on that it put to much strain on both engine and running parts, and things started to brake.

I find the scooby fast enough, but if you have the funds to spare then make sure that you get the whole package.  Plus I am sure you are feeling the cost with how greedy these things are on fuel!  lol!

I am sure some of the other members will have advice on what to do, but I would stick with a SS Exhaust and Filter and leave it at that.

Chipped. That'd be your problem. Chips = shite.

St3ph3en I think he was referring to a previous car??

I would not recommend 'chipping' an Impreza but some cars benefit with little problem at all. (VW/Audi/BMW)

Possibly. I thought he meant an Impreza. I stand to be corrected.

I agree though - works on some cars, but wouldn't do it on an Impreza.

full de cat, good filter, apexi maped by andy F then happy happy joy joy! ( or ecutek ?)

safe 270-290 bhp all day all night. no chips and steer clear of de cats unless you get it checked on a rolling road.

thanks for the replys yeah the fuel that it gos through is more than i thought but that will be something to live with i suppose lol . i was thinking of the filter exhaust and dump valve hadnt thought about any ecu work . why should i get it check on a rolling road for a decat i have not done that with any of my other cars ? does it do something for the worse

sorry but cant remember who asked but im from dundee

I'm guessing getting it checked out after a decat is to make sure the air fuel ratio is correct and that it's not detting its head off.

A remap by a professional will ensure you get the most out of your mods and keep the engine safe too.

Why does everyone talk horsepower - the best mods I've made to my classic are adding 17" rims with Bridgestone 040s 225x45x17 and a thicker whiteline anti-roll bar with uprated drop links.  Anyone can go fast in a straight line, but on a twisty road - see ya!!!

However, once you get used to the speed a 2.5 conversion with hybrid turbo, de-cat, andy f re-map and nitrous etc etc gives you something to dream about at night, mmmmmm yes baby!

Remember the old pirelli saying - POWER IS NOTHING WITHOUT CONTROL - look at how quick a wrc car is over a stage and power is restricted!!!!

Your wallet contains all the answers.
