Iaing Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Some f***er has keyed my car again!!!! Left it parked in my street on Saturday, went to start it this morning. Low and behold theres a deep scratch on both drivers side doors. That’s it the cars going. Im away to buy a sh!t run-around. Fed up of being the target of mindless vandalism. Iain
fai17 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Sorry to here about that m8............where is my pistol??[:@]
chris_c201 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Thats sh!t mate... Know how you feel, last car was an rx8, had it 3 days when i realised someone had dinged it in a car park or something, scuffed right along the back quarter........ then about 4 months later similar only this time right along the side... So infuriating that people have no respect for other people's possessions........ i have to park on a road as well and it drives me nuts, thankfully (touch wood) so far i've been okay but i know one day i'll prolly find similar damage... hope you get it sorted.
Iaing Posted March 6, 2006 Author Posted March 6, 2006 Yeah this is the second time it has been keyed in less than a year not to mention the amount of scuff's, dents and scratches its had from other motorists who dont care about their car. Anyway enough is enough so Im selling it and buying something that I dont have to worry about. Any ideas? Iain
oz *sti* Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Sorry to hear the bad news mate, little Fu**ers out there that want things they can't have no need for it at all.
rossyboy1 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Thankfully we have a garage, which is a must if you want your car to stay looking nice in Aberdeen. My car looks the same as it did when I bought it nigh on 3 years ago. There is still a scooby going about without a scoop or spoiler.
Power Junkie Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 This is the main reason we are moving out of town and getting a garage. I can then spend time getting the bodywork sorted, Not worth doing anything while still in town. people have no respect [:@]
dave_morgan Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I feel for you mate. Most of my 'unexpected' expenses on my scoob have been down to mindless to55ers!! Rear spoiler on the P1 went walk about, passenger side mirror knocked off (kicked I think), badges on my skyline went missing, plus the usual dings and scuffs from carparks, despite parking MILES away from the supermarket normally. An unfortunate side-effect of having a nice car []. I really can't work out the mentality. If I see a nice car - I admire it. Why would you want to damage it!! Beats me!! Dave
SergeantScooby Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 sorry to hear that mate, have only been a scoobie owner for 2 weeks and the car is parked in an outside carpark which should be relavitvely safe however a neighbour came knocking the other day to ask if i had seen anyone near his car, deep scratch the whole length of bonnet, complete deliberate act of vandalism, they got no hope of finding out who did it. I am now sh!£ing myself, i know my time is soon to come and currently the car is mint, am thinking i should have stuck with my banged up golf it was more rust than metal.
ANDYJDMSTI Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Bad news............what area was that in???? Am gonna be paranoid as hell when mine is finished, especially with the cf it will have. May need to look into a garage!! [:|]
Iaing Posted March 6, 2006 Author Posted March 6, 2006 I stay in the Ferryhill area of Aberdeen. No CCTV no witnesses. Second time it has been keyed in Aberdeen. I stay on a fairly quiet street. I could spend all day trying to guess who might of done it. Totally mindless. The thing is i really dont see the point in getting it fixed. I will just sell it with the scratch in it and knock £500 off the price. Chances are it'll just happen again. Especially if the culprit notices its been fixed. Anyone looking for a tidy 2002 bugeye wrx with a speed stripe down one side? Iain
dipsy Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Sorry to hear about your car .There no respect for other peoples propety .I rent a garage for my car
vicki Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 That was totally out of order and makes me so mad [:@] Can people not leave things alone!! I park in the very last space in my work's car park and some idiot always squeezes into the zig zag beside me, where there is hardly enough room for a bike!!
SergeantScooby Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 dont get me started vicki, because of snow today there was a few spaces knocked out at my work, so i parked somewhere thinking there is no way somone is going to go in next to me, how wrong was i someone went in there with a banged up polo leaving exactly 10 inches between my car and theirs and the one otherside i had to wait an hour for them to get back from lunch so i could get into my car i asked them how did they get out and they said through passenger side which my car was on, i said i hope you were careful and didnt hit my car, they started panicing and stuttering, how on earth they managed to get out with out touching mine is a mystery to me off course they hit my car no one couuld have got out with out doing that. I didnt see any marks but the car is so manky with salt and slush i wouldnt have been able to see much. some people have no regard for others and go through life in their own little world, i see it all the time with supermarket car parks puts the fear into me, i park as far away from door now cant trust many folks nowadays (god i sound old) rant over
gus the bus Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Wuckin Fankers! I hate folk that have no respect for other peoples pride n joy! If you find them give them the treatment[:@] Jealous barstewards.[]
G.T. Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 that is shat mate hope you find out who done it and give them an awfy kickin
bigbadboab Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Just a thought as it is twice in a year. Do you have kids with bikes in your street? (brake handle????) My kid was notorious for riding her bike past my car until she damaged it. Is it that kind of hieght??? Sorry to hear that though mate.
Iaing Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 I really wish kids were to blame but they would have to have been on a suicide mission to go on their bikes in the weather we've been having up here. Pavements are sheet ice / snow! It was definately deliberate. The first time it was done was in a supermarket in Aberdeen. Someone followed me in and keyed the car when I was in doing my shopping!! I saw the cctv footage! Not sure what to do. Looked at a little inconspicuous punto today for a run around! Dreading the thought of getting rid of the scoob but but if i get it fixed chances are another saturday the same person will do it again. Iain
terminator Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 http://www.clearmask.com This film by 3m might help as they supply it in varying thicknesses.
oobster Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Sorry to hear this Iain - i hope that if you decide to sell then you can manage to come back to the scooby fold sometime in the future - you never know how circumstances change, you might end up moving to somewhere where the car will be a bit more secure. Makes me mad when you hear about people damaging folks cars - if anyone had a problem with me i'd rather they came and knocked my door and we sorted it out - taking it out on the car is just mindless. Even worse when you don't know why they did it.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Dude, Do not sell unless it's affecting your health with worry. You will be gutted when you let her go. Is there nowhere else you could park or even leave it 5 minutes walk further away ? I hate to say it but I am sure that high spoilers induce rage in jealous plebs. Worst case chop your car in for a wagon ? More discrete ? CGS
Bing Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Easy Try living in scumbagsville i,e Glasgow, due to level of car damage/crime my car now resides in a double garage in Perth and only comes out to say hello once a week[:@]
Iaing Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Cal, you are probably right. Im just fed up of shelling out cash to get it fixed. Am going to have a think about it over the next few days. I must admit I have calmed down a bit over the last day. Still not sure what Im going to do though. Lock up is an option but I dont see the point in owning a car I cant park outside my own flat. Iain
