Possible Fuel Strike..... Over the weekend of the fling!

Recommended Posts

Bugger..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17753488

The drivers have rejected the deal that was on the table. They have until friday to accept a deal or call a strike in 7 days. They do say they want to agree ona deal so there's a chance it'll be sorted.

That would mean a strike over the weekend of the fling! Feckin typical.

Lets hope they sort it out by friday or things could get tricky for the annual jaunt through the hills.

... actually! you might be onto something there! We you make our own Fast&Furious haven/beach party!.. Although finding a beach, boose, and some babes on the west coast could be a struggle

Wrong, there's some great white sandy beaches up the coast beyond Applecross :icon_salut: . Booze & babes could be an issue though!!

Its my observation that V-Power is usually last on the list to run out - with diesel and 95 RON being cheaper and more regularly humped. Plus - there are fill ups in Inverness and Skye, neither of which will have a massive demand for higher octane fuel in any case.

Has someone phoned ahead to make sure they have plenty in stock though?! I'm pretty sure we did that last time I was in the fling and there wasn't an impending strike.

I don't wish to piss on peoples chips here, I'm just in a foul mood from having manflu all day. :(

if they announce on monday that they are going on strike next monday, everybody will be buying fuel like the next big thing and dont expect to get fuel in the wilds, if they are very low, dont expect them to be open as fuel stations dont like very low/empty tanks as moisture/condensation will accumulate in their tanks and have fuel issues

On the panic buyign front.. it's worth noting that had there not been panic buying the govenment would have to conceed that hte country was falling back into recession again.. The panic buying generated enough income right at the end of the financial year for them to just hit above the cut-off...

.. Maybe there was madness in their method afterall what.gif
