davey l wrx
Bugger..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17753488 The drivers have rejected the deal that was on the table. They have until friday to accept a deal or call a strike in 7 days. They do say they want to agree ona deal so there's a chance it'll be sorted. That would mean a strike over the weekend of the fling! Feckin typical. Lets hope they sort it out by friday or things could get tricky for the annual jaunt through the hills. Booze & babes could be an issue though!! Link to comment
lewisscoob
Its my observation that V-Power is usually last on the list to run out - with diesel and 95 RON being cheaper and more regularly humped. Plus - there are fill ups in Inverness and Skye, neither of which will have a massive demand for higher octane fuel in any case. Has someone phoned ahead to make sure they have plenty in stock though?! I'm pretty sure we did that last time I was in the fling and there wasn't an impending strike. I don't wish to piss on peoples chips here, I'm just in a foul mood from having manflu all day. Link to comment
davey l wrx
I've got mozzie repellant left from my holiday in Oz...... Could come in handy if it stops raining long enough for the blighters to take to the air hunting blood! Link to comment
BalliSTIc
Thought this was a new take on octane booster Davey!!!! Link to comment

terzo neil
just remember that gleaner fuel stations are independant and will be the last to get filled going up that way next week, if strike is on then fuel staions are going to be near empty, thats why i am taking extra fuel with me to get home Link to comment
scouk
Should be safe... Next round of talks are on Monday and they need to give at least 7 days notice for a strike, so if anythign is goign to happen it'll be after the fling Link to comment
terzo neil
look what happened last time, panic buying going mad, could be worse up north as limited stations in the wild and locals bulk buying Link to comment
scouk
True.. that deesn't help the panic buying.. And yeah local stations were blocked out onto the main A96 a couple weeks back with peopel goign mad! Annoyingly I filled up with T99 the other day and now developed a misfire on the car Grrr! terzo neil
if they announce on monday that they are going on strike next monday, everybody will be buying fuel like the next big thing and dont expect to get fuel in the wilds, if they are very low, dont expect them to be open as fuel stations dont like very low/empty tanks as moisture/condensation will accumulate in their tanks and have fuel issues Link to comment
badbaz
Bit of scaremongering going on here me thinks..... Link to comment
terzo neil
is it ask the tanker drivers and folk that panic buy as for me, will tell you when i get home next week from up north if the tanker drivers call for a strike Link to comment

scouk
On the panic buyign front.. it's worth noting that had there not been panic buying the govenment would have to conceed that hte country was falling back into recession again.. The panic buying generated enough income right at the end of the financial year for them to just hit above the cut-off... .. Maybe there was madness in their method afterall Link to comment

davey l wrx
Think we'll be alright. Can't see anything happening till after the fling if at all. They say they want to sort it out but then they always say that. To be honest as long as we're k for next weekend i couldn't give a stuff... Link to comment
