thefastone
If its selling at 3Million Yen in Japan, then that 18k in real money, we know that its never ever going to be that cheap here, but I'm wondering just now much of a markup it will have just for the UK market... From those pictures, I really like it, but then whats the chances that it will actually look like that...? I like it, but I think that I'll reserve final judgment untill I see it at release time... I just dont want to get my hopes up again, for Subaru to present another turd... Edited November 9, 2009 by thefastone Link to comment

gogsie
Gav you taking deposits? Don't have a dealership in Aberdeen now. Town & County might be regretting that when they see this baby. Not keen on the look of the hatch so I have been holding onto my 04 STI in the hopes that the coupe would be good, it's looking like a good call. Roll on next year. HAs heard 2010 = Japan 2011 = UK Link to comment
RS Grant
Gav are there any early signs from the internal network about the potential price for the UK STi Coupe? Although it 'only' has 250bhp standard, we all know that can be improved on without too much hassle!! Do you know anything about transmission (6spd?) or brakes (STi Brembo?) on the car? Cheers, Grant Link to comment
StrikE
Must admit is looks like a very nice coupe....... but it's not an Impreza is it? Thats the same idea of everyone running a Audi A4 then going out to buy a TT Might as well go buy a Tribeca or Legacy, why not it's a Subaru! Link to comment
RS Grant
Must admit is looks like a very nice coupe....... but it's not an Impreza is it? I'd argue that the current Hatch was different enough to the iconic image of an 'Impreza' to be called a different name... like when the Escort changed to the Focus, it was a revolutionary change in design so needed a new fresh name, which as I said above is the same as when Subaru changed from a Saloon/Wagon to a Hatchback. I'd be very surprised if this Coupe is called an Impreza. Cheers, Grant Link to comment

I think this time round it may well look like that... THe Toyota is already looking like the images, quite possibe the Subary will look similar just beefier! One to look out for methinks... StrikE
Bah........ this is the Subaru Impreza Drivers Club ha I dont care what you say When the 'hatch' first came out i was one of the first to call it the 'japseye' but once you actually get behind the wheel and drive the car you will feel different, i did! As for the saloon/wagon to hatch debate isn't the wagon a hatch anyway? [single opening boot with a big glass window] We should all be driving around in Classics then until they rust away Still doesnt take away the fact that the 216a is a nice car Link to comment

[single opening boot with a big glass window] We should all be driving around in Classics then until they rust away Still doesnt take away the fact that the 216a is a nice car I have driven the WRX and STi Hatch (used to work in same building as Subaru/Isuzu franchise)... the WRX really isn't my cuppa (felt almost Forester XT-like) and the STi while nice, is a bit soft for the badge and even the wide wings etc dont lift the styling enough for me. However, that sort of thing is personal preference!! Depends which camp you are in regarding the Hatch/Wagon/Estate thing, however if you search for an Impreza on eBay or Autotrader then I'm sure the Wagons are listed as Estates. Believe me, I'm not a Classic die hard (although my sig might suggest otherwise!! )... if I was ever to return to an Impreza, then I'd be going for another Hawkeye STi. Cheers, Grant Link to comment

Thats the same idea of everyone running a Audi A4 then going out to buy a TT Might as well go buy a Tribeca or Legacy, why not it's a Subaru! Not quite the same, I'd say it's like buying an M3 then changing it for a M3 Coupe When I bought my Saloon it was because I got the best of both worlds, fast car with 5 seats. Wife has her own Car now so don't have to worry about the practical side so much and love the Subaru 4x4 system and tunability of the boxer engine but since the classic they haven't been the best looking cars and now that will change so now the best of both worlds.
