  1. Not quite the same, I'd say it's like buying an M3 then changing it for a M3 Coupe When I bought my Saloon it was because I got the best of both worlds, fast car with 5 seats. Wife has her own Car now so don't have to worry about the practical side so much and love the Subaru 4x4 system and tunability of the boxer engine but since the classic they haven't been the best looking cars and now that will change so now the best of both worlds.
  2. Gav you taking deposits? Don't have a dealership in Aberdeen now. Town & County might be regretting that when they see this baby. Not keen on the look of the hatch so I have been holding onto my 04 STI in the hopes that the coupe would be good, it's looking like a good call. Roll on next year. HAs heard 2010 = Japan 2011 = UK
  3. I used black ultralite ones with internal allen key profile from Unit 8 but would like gold ones. Seen some but not in stock
  4. I have also used PPS and they made a lovely job of my wheels. Only problem with the powder coating is they cant match the centre caps due to them being plastic, You might be better gettiing them painted. It didn't bother me so much as I was just using the wheels for winter time.
  5. Sorry if you've seen it before but haven't been on for a while. Fastone - if your bored clicking on it then you need to get out more!!
  6. Can't claim credit for finding it, mate sent it to me. He thought I might like it "being a cruiser"
  7. Always got around 18 mile to the gallon. If driving steady-ish I get 200mile from full to light coming on. Normally 180mile to a tank.
  8. Received the following from a friend - yes I have one! Don't know how true this is but seeing as it's nearly Christmas be careful!! This one is pretty slick since they provide Y O U with all the information, except the one piece they want. Note, the callers do not ask for your card number; they already have it. This information is worth reading. By understanding how the VISA & MasterCard Telephone Credit Card Scam works, you'll be better prepared to protect yourself. One of our employees was called on Wednesday from 'VISA', and I was called on Thursday from 'MasterCard'. The scam works like this: Person calling says, 'This is (name), and I'm calling from the Security and Fraud Department at VISA. My badge number is 12460. Your card has been flagged for an unusual purchase pattern, and I'm calling to verify. This would be on your VISA card which was issued by (name of bank) did you purchase an Anti-Telemarketing Device for £497.99 from a Marketing company based inLondon?' When you say 'No', the caller continues with, 'Then we will be issuing a credit to your account. This is a company we have been watching and the charges range from £297 to £497, just under the £500 purchase pattern that flags most cards. Before your next statement, the credit will be sent to (gives you your address), is that correct?' You say 'yes'. The caller continues - 'I will be starting a fraud investigation. If you have any questions, you should call the 0800 number listed on the back of your card (0800 -VISA) and ask for Security. You will need to refer to this Control Number. The caller then gives you a 6 digit number. 'Do you need me to read it again?' Here's the IMPORTANT part on how the scam works the caller then says, 'I need to verify you are in possession of your card.' He'll ask you to 'turn your card over and look for some numbers.' There are 7 numbers; the first 4 are part of your card number, the next 3 are the security numbers that verify you are the possessor of the card. These are the numbers you sometimes use to make Internet purchases to prove you have the card. The caller will ask you to read the 3 numbers to him. After you tell the caller the 3 numbers, he'll say, 'That is correct, I just needed to verify that the card has not been lost or stolen, and that you still have your card. Do you have any other questions?' After you say, 'No,' the caller then thanks you and states, 'Don't hesitate to call back if you do', and hangs up. You actually say very little, and they never ask for or tell you the Card number. But after we were called on Wednesday, we called back within 20 minutes to ask a question. Are we glad we did! The REAL VISA Security Department told us it was a scam and in the last 15 minutes a new purchase of £497.99 was charged to our card. Long story - short - we made a real fraud report and closed the VISA account. VISA is reissuing us a new number. What the scammers want is the 3-digit PIN number on the back of the card. Don't give it to them. Instead, tell them you'll call VISA or Master Card directly for verification of their conversation. The real VISA told us that they will never ask for anything on the card as they already know the information since they issued the card! If you give the scammers your 3 Digit PIN Number, you think you're receiving a credit. However, by the time you get your statement you'll see charges for purchases you didn't make, and by then it's almost too late and/or more difficult to actually file a fraud report. What makes this more remarkable is that on Thursday, I got a call from a 'Jason Richardson of MasterCard' with a word-for-word repeat of the VISA scam. This time I didn't let him finish. I hung up! We filed a police report, as instructed by VISA. The police said they are taking several of these reports daily! They also urged us to tell everybody we know that this scam is happening . Please pass this on to all your family and friends. By informing each other, we protect each other.

  10. Have to agree about the Red Stuff. I had the Ceramics, they lasted 6000 miles and left my dics with bad ruts. The thing is that I guess they are performance equipment and therefor are going to wear quickly as they are more biased towards stopping than mileage. Might have got away with just pads but wanted an excuse to get grooved discs. Avoided drilled as they seem to have a reputation for cracking. Went for DBA 5000 series grooved discs (Motorsportworld £500) and Feredo DS2500 pads (MSW £145) I will see how I get on with them.
  11. Do you need insurance in Orkney? Don't you just buy the local bobbie a couple of drams at the weekend in the local to "lubricate the palet" Nae too many thou or he winnae mine you bought em!
  12. Not sure about KM and the 1 year thing as I already had been driving it 1 year. I know when I insured it the first year A-plan wouldn't look at me until I had been driving it for a year. What I found annoying was the amount of companies that wouldn't insure me. At the time I was 39 with Full no Claims, Garage and in a safe area with nightly patrols by a security firm. Mind you I guess they know the majority are not buying scoobs to go for Sunday picnics
  13. I know what you mean, I have spent a heap on my scoob in the 22 months I have had it but it's the best car I have owned. Have to admit that most of the money has been on mods but I reckon I have spent £5000 since I got it and another £650 last week - £500 for front Discs, £150 for pads and I'm only home 6 months of the year to drive it..... Grudge the pads as I had Red stuff ceramics and the only lasted about 6000 miles. Went for DS2500 this time. But as I said to Julie (and she foolishly agreed) - lifes to short.
  14. I'm with Keith Michaels and would recommend them. NU £815 Without mods declared (Up £160 even though no accidents or claims). KM £575 With all mods declared including remap. All aftermarket replacements are like for like including JDM parts. Was that happy I now insure my wifes car with them. NU £375 with full claims discount (Up £75). KM £350 for my wife with no - no claims discount. (I transferred it into her name as it was her car anyway and it worked out cheaper with KM. I know not everyone has had great quotes but they do there best and are worth a try. Special phone number for SIDC members in members forum.
  15. Here Miss Like it so far and its much faster. Old site usually took ages to load on this rig. Like the layout, I reckon it's better than SN which has too much going on in the home page.
  16. was one of the numpties that pre odered Sky HD. . all I was late in getting it due to lack of HD boxes which is stupid because I pre ordered it. Second - the amount of channels is a joke! I knew when I ordered it that there would not be a lot of channels but expected that after a year and 4 months that there would be more than there is. Then the reliability is an issue. I'm on my third box (But my mate is still on his first). Third - is the £10 a month which at first I didn't mind, until they introduced HD prem plus and wanted me to pay extra for it (Bloody cheek I already pay). Sky are not my favourite company and I reckon it's because they have a monopolyI Sky's customer service is crap, hang on the phone for ages, box breaks down they want to give you a "reconditioned " one, once my year was up they said my warranty was up but I informed them that I only had my current box 3 months but of coarse you don't start the warranty again, and then they have the cheek to phone 2 nights later to try and sell me a extended warranty. Don't get me wrong when watching BBC's planet earth / Discovery / National geographic and action / animated movies the picture is superb. But for Sport and normal TV I don't think it's worth it. If I was you I would wait until there is more channel choice and the HD box is cheaper. Everytime I have subscribed to Sky's latest gadget 6 months later it's half the price. Over a year this time but they have began advertising on HD that the prices are coming down. Good thing this time is the longer you have been an HD customer the cheaper it will be. I have been checking out Virgin but it is not available in my area yet. Although they say it will be coming soon. I reckon Sky need a bit of competition and I reckon they think Virgin will compete hence the reason for them hiking up the price of Sky channels for broadcasting on Virgin. Hope Virgin keeps on fighting but they will need to give great channel choice and a great deal to get ciustomers to leave.
  17. See this is what gets me. Someone can design that yet Subaru's effort is just bo**ocks. The money that is spent designing and making the machinery for maiking panels etc. You would think that they would take several designs out into the Subaru buying public and get there views. Now if I could buy that one then I would have to have a serious rethink on my next purchase.
  18. Better to be safe than sorry, I would have legged it as well! I would want to stand upto these idiots (Wee man Syndrome) but these days with crow bars, knives etc it's just not worth it. My JDM sti locks its doors when you first put it in gear. Used to think it was a pain in the ass but I guess it's now become a safety feature. Glad to hear your OK, here's hoping the Police catch them but don't hold your breath. That's not to knock the Police, I think the reason these crimes are getting more common is the TO**ERS are getting cleverer at hiding there identity with false plates and baseball caps / Hoodies etc and don't fear or respect the Police/Courts so they don't think they will get caught and aren't scared of the consequencies if they do. I'm all for ID cards, dna, retina scanning etc. If you not doing anything wrong then why worry. That said - As Long as the technology is fool proof and only used to confirm peoples identity! "VOTE FOR ID CARDS" []
  19. Nice Gauges Jac [] Liked the steering column boost gauge myself. Actually prefer it to the pod mounted I have now, UR right it's easier to see when giving it some.. As long as you remember to look around it to see the petrol gauge. The red BF's go better with my dash but I should have went for the same set up as I had before. A fair motor youv'e got there now jack, You thought mines was OK but a bet yours is a fair tool. I will be after a PAX lap from you the next time we're both at Knockhill. Only home for one this year and that's September. Hope the weather's good.
  20. Gus, I could set you up with a blind date. My girlfriends twin sister - "Dolly" []
  21. Pity I hadn't seen this earlier or I could have warned you about the Gordon's! I drink in there occasionaly being a Kincorth Loon, but the wife's work used it for a visiting workmate and swore never to use it again. Reckoned there was mould on the walls and everything. She has someone up in Aberdeen at the moment for training and had problems getting a room. Got a room at the Inn at the Park. Sorry about that, I guess it spoiled your visit. They must have an idea the place is a pit when everywhere else is booked up and there not.
  22. No it wisnae ready. I gave Lesley a call and she told me it wasn't ready. She is going to give me a call when it's done!
