cruz104 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 (edited) Ok Scooby Fans The first Scottish Borders Run is being planned and I need some advice, the plan is to leave Kelso and take in some Border sights! After a bacon buttie i was thinking of heading to Penicuik to visit the Scooby Doo Garage I have written to Colin Noble at AF Noble Subaru to see if they would be willing to let SIDC have a look at a certain 22B that according to reports on this site belongs to Colin Noble and used to belong to Colin McRae. I am waiting to see if the garage would be up for this, I only sent the letter on Friday so I await the response before I set the date. I am hoping that seeing that this the Borders first ever event some of the other Regions may come and say hello as well. Amyway let me know what you all think. Thanks folks John Edited October 22, 2008 by cruz104
rallyfever Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Hi John, Sounds good to me fella, a rare day out in the Sunny Scottish Borders, around the roads that a certain other World Champion used to hurtle his Lotus Cortina around - James Clark of course!!! If the other regions want to come and join us it would be great, some superb roads around the Borders that we make the most of. Note to self - this will not be The Jim Clark - speed limits apply!!!!!! Hope the numbers are high and the crack is good. Cheers Gary

cruz104 Posted October 22, 2008 Author Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) Hi Folks I have some great news, AF Noble Subaru Dealership contacted me this morning to confirm that they are going to allow club members to get a guided tour of the facilities at the garage and then pop over to the workshops to view the Rare 22B that is Colin Nobles own car which used to belong to Colin McRae and then have a look over the garage and the paint shop. The Garage have been so helpful and are going to have 2 mechanics on site to answer any questions we have and have a look at any small problems that people have....within reason! They will allow us to look over all the models in the showroom including the new Impreza. Now the logistics, I require to give the garage 2 weeks notice and I would like to give people as much notice as possible, the date that I have in mind is Saturday 22nd November, the times and meeting place are to be agreed but the group needs to be at the garage in the morning, rough estimate 10 ish, I would like everyone to meet in Peebles if possible so that at least we can all arrive at once. I wll then plan a wee run around the Borders in the afternoon for those that have time. If the numbers are good enough the Garage will lay on a few sarnies for us........................so all i need now is for people to add their names to the list below, this is a great opportunity to see a very rare car, get some great advice and have a good laugh to boot. Thanks again for all your messages of support Cheers John 1. Cruz104 2 3 4 5 Edited October 22, 2008 by cruz104
