thats the problem m8 no one replys anyway and if they do then its usually 1 or 2 people this is suppose to be about sharing problems and othrs helping to resolve but its just not that way anymore

Depends on the question you ask. One of the good things in my mind about this place is that no one feels obliged to post whore and respond with "sorry I don't know". If everyone done that then there would be utter chaos!

This place is far from dead.

You're right mate, this site is dead, and no-one answers your questions, because we're not subaru enthusiasts anymore. It would just be silly to think the reason that it is fairly quiet on here in the summer, is because we are all out enthusing about our Subaru's, driving them, cleaning them, fixing them, maintaining them.

Quit bitching

in the three years ive been in this club every summer has been the same, people get out and about alot more go holidays wash cars cut grass do gardens fix cars etc etc so tend spend less time sitting behind there pc`s

It is a bit quiet on here at the moment, but as said above, it is the summer and you would expect that.

There is more to the club and more to owning a Subaru than just a forum. :iagree:

You get more posts on Scoobynet but somethimes I just can't be bothered having to wade through all the sh!t@ you get on there!

Might be a bit quiet at times, but its far from dead and as Stephen says, it depends on the questions you ask. I have had some issues with my car in the last wee while and I have been loaned batteries, ramps, people have sorted me out for a replacment tailpipe and talked to me for ages on the phone as well as sending me text messages to offer advice and even help etc. etc. The old saying rings true, "You get out of thing based on what you put in". Get out and come along to meets and events and get to know the characters and their cars. The experince there after is much more rewarding.

Cant say I agree mate. Ive posted a bunch of daft questions since I joined and have always found that people in the know have been more than happy to help me out. And as for the banter ive been ripped to bits so many times ive lost count, probably my own fault for starting.

I dont need lots of conflicting answers, one good answer from the right person is enough

:)

To be honest, I can't say I've noticed it beign quiet on here..

But if it has, it tends to be the same across the Net.. Start of the summer holidays, great weather outside, the last thing people want to do it is sit inside at obscene temps infront of a computer screen! They are out enjoying life!

I've been on and run many online communities over the last 10 years and it's the same every year.. It's just saddos like me that post here all through the day and instead of being outside doing something usefull :)

lol i just checked passion ford and its miles behind the software used on here IMO, just cause it has a projects section dosent make it better than here TBH, its a two second job to create a new section and name it projects, but its a good idea none the less :)

Hahahahahaha. A whole dedicated thread for projects? F*** me! That's real 25th century stuff! We've got and had Blogs for the past year for precisely that reason and if you look our very own Chairman is using his for precisely that purpose. That's how it's done these days. Online diaries. Threads are the stuff of the dark ages you're so keen to mention.

The thing with ANY Forum community is it's only as good and as active as the people using it so that's PRECISELY why you should "have to make suggestions about what would be done." :). You've not really thought this one through, have you? What have YOU done to add to the community or should it be down to everybody else to do it for you?

You can't MAKE folk post and having people come along and saying "a few people on here have there heads up there rear" (sic) is hardly conducive to what it's all about.

For the record, the site isn't "going down hill" (sic). The stats indicate otherwise.

I have been around this site now for a good few years.

Now getting to know the people behind the user names is half the fun and getting out on the road with fellow like minded enthusiasts is what makes this site more than an internet forum.

In my opinion what makes this club better than the 42 other Subaru clubs in the UK is our active socal acitivities, like runs, trackdays, BBQ, etc, etc and reguler meets

Every summer is quietens down in here a fair bit, has done every year i have been involved with the club and i dont expect this or next year to be different

Thanks for the fish (Gumball reference, i really do wonder where that particuler pole smoker has got to)

this thread has made me laugh.

these are some of the things that make me think why you think that this site is dead:

- people are on holiday, out doing stuff in the nice weather and dont spend all their time behind a computer

- those new to the forum are asking the same questions that have been asked time and time again and the regulars cant be bothered typing out the same reply again

- the active members of the club are spending their time organising events and do not have a lot of time to just sit and read the threads

- we dont like reading "text talk", it takes too much brain power to work out what you are saying and frankly if you can't type and speak properly then I can't be bothered reading it

how many of the folk from here have you actually met, face to face and chatted to?

if you have, then you'll get a different reaction when you post stuff as you'll actually know the people behind the user names and make real friends

If you think things are dull then do something about it, volunteer yourself and organise something for us to do.

"you dont have to be a Regional Organiser to organise things"

Someone suggested mandatory use of punctuation. I'm all for it.

So far you've come up with "a projects thread". As stated we have a superior alternative. Oh, and I talk "pish". I know that, in fact everybody knows that, but you're out-pishing me right now.

Yeah, I agree with that. People with plastic faces... what does that even mean? I have come face to face with many members on here through the things that we do - events track days etc. and I can only say that they are a good bunch of people. Ho hum!
