TURBOEDD Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 im needing to renew my insurance this month and i got a quote from my insurer which was more than i paid last year som im going to shop about. im looking for some recommendations. cheers eddie
T_H_E__C_R_O_W Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 The normal ones are: Ardiran Flux A-Plan Keith Michaels Sky Insurance Also check out the normal comparison sites you never know who might come up with a surprising price. After all that you should have coved about 90% of the market so in with a good chance of the best price.
micra_wrc Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 its also worthwhile doing a search for the keyword "insurance" - the topic comes up quite often. Scoobynet has a dedicated Insurance sub-section in their forum, plenty of advice and recommendations there too.

C_WRX Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Quite a few head towards Gary Moulson (0208 6427868 / 02083291167 / 02082880275 ) at Keith Michaels - although he is on holiday till Monday 25th Feb believe. Not always easy to get a hold of but quite a few Subaru owners do rave about the quotes. Tell them about all the mods. I moved from Admiral to them end of last year, beat renewal quote by over £100.
Carson Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 (edited) Whats the deal! My postcode (pa2) its coming up 2500Quid "Paisley" And the mates postcode 1820Quid for Houston (pa5). I know Paisleys full of scavaging savages! Thou 600 odd jump in price? pants. neone want to lend me there postcode and garage ? Edited March 27, 2008 by Carson
Jimmy321 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Im in PA2 with a 07 wrx wagon under £700, your car must be modified?
markibee Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Try Elephant bud. Thats where i got my best quote by far.
plsteve Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I find that t he companies which are under-written by the RBS - Tesco, Direct Line and Privilege to name a few are the cheapest by far for me, as long as you have a tracker. Just changed to Privilege this year and was quoted £565 including protecting my no claims discount. 29yo, 5yrs no claims, group 20 car. Really happy with the price. And I bought it through Quidco, so waiting for my £100 cashback through them, if it ever comes!! Just a note on the price comparision sites, best I got quoted from there was £1260, its worth shoppping about. Steve
claudefrog Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 greenlight i pay around £700 25 6 years NC 2003 STI UK 3 points sp30 living in N.Ireland which typically has a high rate to begin with. been with greenlight coming on for 3rd year now, and have never had a bad thing to say about them... even telling them i had 3 points made no difference to the premium at all!!
jamesm Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Whats the deal!My postcode (pa2) its coming up 2500Quid "Paisley" And the mates postcode 1820Quid for Houston (pa5). I know Paisleys full of scavaging savages! Thou 600 odd jump in price? pants. neone want to lend me there postcode and garage ? That is a hefty quote. What is the car, age, NCB etc? I live in Houston and park the car on the drive. I have a 2002 WRX am 28, 5 years NCB, business use and an at fault claim last year and I pay £680 with Keith Michaels. Can't fault them so far. Gary takes a bit of getting hold of sometimes, but worth persevering. Used to be with Elephant but had no end of hassle when I claimed and Keith Michaels beat their renewal by £80 anyway.
bigal024 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Another one for Keith Michaels here. I pay £600, 28 YO with 7yrs NCB. IV30 postcode though.

urban Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Gary at Keith Michaels is great, i have both the scoobies insured through them. Really helpful and happy with mods, the comapny they put me with this year even gives you full trackday cover for £60 a day if you want it!!
oobster Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Another vote for Gary Moulson @ Keith Michaels I find PM'ing him on SNet usually gets a quick response.
Carson Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Ive been bad so the insurance is high - dd40. It was really the jump in price I didnt understand. From around 2400 to 1800? Same company with a dif postal code 23 1ncb dd40 Im taking the bullet no matter what, I was just shocked at the postcode crap. cheers Chris
Richie Cross Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Got my new quote through from Keith Michaels. £450 for my WRX wagon with mods declared. 34yrs old with 9yrs NCB
bigbird Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I find Admiral hard to beat- I'm 34, full protected no claims and they charge me £310 fully comp for my 2006 STi with PPP.
Rednosespeccltd Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Gary Moulson@kieth Micheals again!!!!! Top price/top bloke. can be a bit busy though. Mac
sven Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Superb, Gary Moulson @ Kieth Micheals just under £600 for a Forester STi with Litchfield upgrades and AST shocks etc. 32 with full NCB 28 yr old wife as named driver.
