How My Day Went

arrived at Andy.F`s 2 hours late after a lorry blew over and the road was closed leaving a six mile tail back with me at the wrong end of it ;)

eventually andy got started doing his buisness setting up the simtek anti lag and duel maps, we hit the road to do the first map which was on v-power managed 360/370BHP @ 1.3 bar before andy noticed the EGT temparture was going through the roof, no probs probably a dodgy thermostat?, we limped back to his place stopping three times to let the car cool down, he did a few things topped up the water as it was low and we took off again to do the meths map, got it as high as 1.45 bar of boost (car was pulling like a train and all systems were go with an estimate of 390/400 BHP) before the EGT went through the roof again only to discover my head gaskets F****D

quite happy with the figures though 360/370BHP @ 1.3 bar is nae too bad if i say so myself :D:P

the anti lag sounds the dogs danglies bits too :hyper:

big thanks to WUZ for the effort he put into this ;)

Geez! That is one fast motor. I take that is your 2nd Scoob, the white one? Head gasket isn't too bad though is it? £250 or so I'd reckon. At least you are happy with the outcome other than that though.

Going to Knockers on the 15th March?

A bit of good and a bit of bad, but at least the fix is cheap !!, Good day all in all I'd say !!

yup very true indeed so what do people recommend porting or skimming the heads? , and thank you once again in your participation in all of this john, ;):hyper:;):D

got me up the road ok anyway, new gaskets now on order and things already in motion to get it running properly again :hyper:

Nice one, I presume it didn't use any water when not on boost ?

Make sure it gets the proper multi layer steel gaskets this time ;)

Don't skim the heads unless they are warped, mild porting will be fine though.
