Well i highly recommend a wee camp site 5 mins (3 miles) outside Banbury. Its called Barnstones and is in the small village of Great Bourton. Been camping there for a week every year for the last 11 years for a music festival i attend so I don't see any reason why I wouldn't use it again. Toilets and showers available on site. Nice we pub only 2 mins walk and your only 5 mins from Banbury its self..... wishing i was there now.

If i remember its only about £6-£8 a night for a tent.

I need Sky tv & porcelin to squat on :D

At the same time

Are you mad?

Danger of electrocution for a start although Porcelin is a good insulator but the mess you would make of the TV would be unbearable and not to think of the poor maid that has to clear up after you.

Sounds like a fitting tribute to my hero, I have just been on the Premier Inn website and booked the night of the 30th, If you're wanting sometwhere close and comfy I would get onto it asap as I can see this getting booked up seriously quick.

The trip down should be an amazing experience with hundreds of Scoobs travelling in convoy. I am sure it will attract some attention from the media, maybe we can get some attention to it beforehand so the public know when and where were gonna be, we could raise a good amount for the charities that way.

Get yer skates on chaps and chapasses as I can see this being the hightlight of the Scooby year.

I should be in the position to put the website for this live tomorrow. It will undergo continuous work after that and will have new features added to it as we go on and think of more things! However, I want to get it up and running while this is still fresh in everyone's minds. It will have a mailing list you can subscribe to to get the latest news direct to your Inbox. There will also be an online shop where stickers and maybe some other things are available once details on them are finalised. :D

Bloody hell. I nip off to the other side of the world for a few weeks and I find that everything happens when I am away.

Count me and Mrs Z in Grant/Andy. I will book holidays to make sure I am not in Utter Pradesh or somewhere when the time comes. I am up for any organising/co-ordinating that may be required. Can't do anything about accom until I get back though.

Just booked the Premierinn, late check-inn incase we are held up on the run and pub and restaurant next door.

I know the camping will be good fun and a laugh, but a comfy bed after a long drive is the winner.

I've just booked into here

Premier Inn Banbury.

Free on-site car parking, restaurant next door and cooked breakfast on the Sunday morning :D

Thanks Nanaki for offering to letting me camp in your 4-man tent but I think I'd prefer a comfy bed indoors

edit: StrikE.. yeah thats the one

We are pleased to announce that the official website for the 2008 McRae Gathering has now gone live at

http://www.mcrae-gathering.co.uk

This is a totally independent website, not affiliated to any Club or Organisation which is designed to be a central source of information for both individuals and Club webmasters alike to keep up to date with the latest in planning for what is sure to be a weekend to remember and to ask any questions that may arise.

You can sign up to our spam-free mailing list to get the latest news direct to your Inbox, we will be building a FAQ of your most frequently asked questions and there will also be an online shop where you can order your official McRae Gathering stickers (and maybe more!)

Webmasters are encouraged to visit and read the intro article to make sure we link back to the sites that are supporting this event.

This has the potential to be the largest ever organised Subaru event in the UK. Let's do Colin proud!

Good work guys! Already added a link from my own site  And considering making up the big sticker for across my bonnet over for the snowman rally weekend in inverness in february to try and promote the event!

Had the Snowman Rally logo on the bonnet last year and had wee kids walking past asking if it was a real rally car w00t!! So the sticker will certainly attract attention! (just a pain to polish the marks out after removing it..)

Never done anything so quickly before, but had to strike while the iron was hot so to speak. Thanks to Neil - 4Hero for his support in sorting out the banner logo mucho pronto. The site will still undergo mucho tweaking, but we now have a central presence we can grow from.
