ormiboy Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Hard to know what to say. Words are not enough to convey the sadness this has brought. Thoughts to family. R.I.P Willie.
warby Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Just gobsmacked, i cant say anything else. Rest in piece Colin and now you are with your friend Richard.
scooby princess Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I first met colin at rally day and requested some signatures on some pictures of him in action for raffle prizes, to which he was so happy to do especially for his fans. He was always so very polite and kind and he was a true gentleman. Rally day this next weekend will feel emptier without his cheerful smile and friendly chatter and bubbly personality. May you forever rest in peace and may your family find some comfort in the condolence we leave for them in this area.
scouk Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 (edited) Truely a sad event.. Never met Colin, closest I got was when he ran in the Ford Puma Course car at the spey-side stages rally a few years back. I had always hoped the SWRT woudld see sence and dig into their pockets to have a Solberg/McRae Driver line up. I'm completely gobsmaked by the news. My thoughts go out to family/friends and all that knew him (LOTS of people!) And whether you want to admit it or not, one of the main reasons were all a part of the SIDC and why the Impreza has become a true icon in history is because of that great man. He has affected so many lives in the last 20 years its rediculous! He made subaru what it is today! He made UK rallying what it is today! He was the first ever British World Rally Champion!! A great man.... no... your right a Ledgend!! Forget hammond.. Colin will always be The driving GOD! Long may we remember.... R.I.P. Colin McRae.... Edited September 16, 2007 by ScoUK

It's a very sad day and our hearts and thoughts go out to Colin's family and friends, not forgetting the family and friends of the other 2 passengers. Maybe he is rallying somewhere above with Richard Burns.......It's a nice thought. He will be sorely missed. Simon and Alison Clark (a.k.a Sisubaru & Alisubaru)

frenchy Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 My Nan passed away this week so it's been difficult for me as it's really hit me hard. But Kaz gave me a poem to remember her by and I'd like to share that with Colin's family. My deepest thoughts are with all the families who knew Colin and his Son. RS Grant Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I never met the man, but because of the way Colin came across, I felt like I knew him... I am very upset and this is one of those moments that I'll remember for the rest of my days; where I was when I heard the news, in the same way I do about Senna, Princess Diana etc. Colin came across as a very down to earth person and we have lost an amazing ambassador for Scottish Motorsport. My heart goes out to the family of all involved at this terrible time. Thankyou for brightening up our lives Colin, even though it was for a tragically short time, rest in peace mate. Cheers, Grant
ANDYJDMSTI Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 (edited) Rest in peace Colin, Johnny, Ben and Graeme. A true ambassador for British Motorsport, as is the McRae family as a whole.
