  1. Nyles old motor And Nick's gonna be pissed that your taking all the credit for his track car I'll be back on track in a few months to see how well it goes.... Just like the good old days, Tiger v White RA Daz
  2. Good Luck Zeo & Mrs Zeo, Sounds like quite an adventure and I am sure you with both love every minute. Daz
  3. Kev, neither of mine were MOT'd, just of a good standard and safe. As said above, lightness is the key, loose EVERYTHING thats not essential and then loose some more ... If you need any help just give me a shout, happy to help with some spannering / unbolting Daz
  4. Hotel already booked. will come across and see you there
  5. Think he loads up a "generic base" one he has written then tweaks it to get the maximum from each individual car, certainly lots of time spent on the rollers doing tweaks till he & the customer are happy. No complaints here anyway Daz
  6. 3rd 'ed Star Peformane all the way. had them do last 3 cars for me, Audi S4 and 2 diesels, Quality work every time. Cheers Daz
  7. Oh I remember 1st time my Scoob was on a rolling road, was scared stiff that it might blow up and the noise it made during the run, then you came along with the RA and blew everyone away. IIRC it had some trouble staying on the rollers too Daz
  8. LOL, thats got to be the laziest thing I have ever heard Well you are going to need to take the Navara now to recover the Scoob If you need a hand I am in Abz today
  9. Ooo youv'e broken Adams Car !! Better break out the Skyline Crank Position Sensor or MAF gets my vote, but I would have though MAF would just reduce power rather than none at all. Does it have the single coil pack on the top of the engine? Maybe thats on its way out - intermittant sparking. Daz
  10. Very Nice - retro cool I used to have a big poster of that car in my Garage many years ago before I got my Scoob. Can't wait to see it in the flesh. Daz
  11. Well picked mine up on Sunday. All remapped and ready to go. Not had a chance to drive it much, took it to the airport yesterday and it awaits my return Initial impressions - much smoother engine than the 1.9, bit noisier, too early to say on MPG but bound to be pretty good Really needs a centre armrest though - Away to buy its first mod I will have to investigate the torque in the wet on my return Cal how do you know the boost pressure now?
  12. Nice. Who is doing the Map? Mines is at Star Performance. What sort of MPG you getting just now? Oh, and my speed kicks now come from this:-
  13. Well like Cal I have also binned high performance in favour of high MPG for a while. Have just bought this:- although it is getting a cheeky wee remap before I collect it. 180bhp / 300+ lb/ft should suffice nicely with the 40+ mpg Cal, I will wave if I see you
  14. JC you still going out at Kingennie? I will need to get out soon. Not been out for ages
  15. Cheers for all the positive comments guys Its been a long road but I am finally are near the end Thanks Zeo, & just for you Tiger Avon in luvvly orange Engine moved back 2.5" for better balance 5 speed type 9 Ford box with westfield extension & quickshift. Conservative map running V Power & 10% Methanol - Allows us to increase bhp as skill level does Adjustable brake bias valve Full set of slicks for "dry" knockhill days approx 526kg wet weight I will prob add to this as I remember more stuff Cheers Daz
  16. Its loud, light and a lot cheaper than a Scoob (although a bit more draughty)
  17. Some of the older members on here might remember Scoobylav & myselves Scoobs and our move to a dedicated track car. 2006 saw the Puggy 205 on track. Total cost to buy the car / trailer / cage / nos and all other stuff approx £1K We had a fair bit of fun competing against Adam & Fees 205 till we blew the engine with too much NOS 2007 Sold Puggy and trailer to fund new project I have now purchased a part built Bright Orange Tiger Avon Stripped Naked Pile of Bits made to look like a car The good bits The next year or so has seen me stripping this back down to component parts (was poorly put together) and starting from scratch. I had lots of issues and delays - ECU and Wiring But last night saw her mapped at Wallace Performance by Russs (Cheers Russs, couldn't have done it without you ) and she is ready to go. Gonna be a bit of a handful and a steep learning curve on RWD handling Lots more details & pics on Trackscotland if anyones interested. http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=25 So look out for us on May 17th
  18. Nice one Kev. Well done You have been doing the job for a while now, so title is deserved. Daz
  19. Fix ya headlight on the workhorse I know you canny weld but I am sure changing a bulb wont tax you too much Daz
  20. Absolutely stunned. My most heartfelt condolances to the families. He was the man that, like many others have said, got me into the world of Subarus. In my eyes the best WRC driver ever. Rest in Peace Colin Darren & CJ
  21. Yep, I was there too. I think I saw you right at the end Fai, behind the Skylines - waiting for your young lad at the loos? I was the tall blond guy with the sunburnt face & SIDC fleece It was a great day and only got back at 5pm ish yesterday too Once I sort out my pics I will post up some too Daz
  22. Red Grill = Cool Think it needs a small lip spoiler though and loose the other STI logo on the foglight cover to even up the front end. All IMO of course [][] Daz
  23. JC, we will have to go out sometime, I have fished Kingennie many times, just not got my act together this year yet. Intermediate line works well in the windy conditions there. did a couple of hours on the tay at Kenmore on saturday but the wind was a killer. Dougster - I use the metal rings and just use the same knot that I use to tie the flies on with. It saves on needing a whole new cast if onr dropper gets a little short. Daz
  24. So induction noise is fine, as long as exhaust is quiet enough. Ok thats sounds achievable [] Daz
