ally-b Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 What a turnout last night , I think someone mentioned 37 cars Lots of versions of Impreza were represented from classic to hawkeye . It was a nice warm night and there was a lot of chatting going on in the carpark It was good to meet some new members too , as well as the 'regulars' . Did anyone manage to get any pics in the rapidly fading light ? Al.

Yes a great night Ally.......such a fantastic turnout...As Stephen said I think that beat the Central Big One last year where we had 21 cars.......I counted last night and there was 39 cars in total......so thanks to everyone for turning out...really enjoyed catching up with everyone......just dont mention cheescake as I will cry....
micra_wrc Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 aye it was a good turnout. Didnt get a chance to speak to everyone cos I was needing my dinner but managed to catch up with most folk. Paul, I'd be surprised if Sheep enjoyed that cheesecake the way you were going on at him for getting the last slice
david_taylor Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Yeah, was some turnout. Certainly turned heads on the dual carriageway next to the car park! Good to meet some new faces and the usual suspect to. Paul, that cheese cake looked so good, bet you were gutted! lol! Hopefully someone got some pics...I forgot my camera in my haste to eat dinner and get back to cumbernauld. Dave

martin_allen Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ............................................. cheesecake Tam and Brian thats a dessert i am due you! Good turn out and a good night. Think i really only spoke to Cusco Kid so didn't really get to meet that many people but a fair sight in the car park! didn't get to eat anything either, kept waiting for people to move indoors and no one did. Managed to get pulled on way to chippy at home too for driving a subaru. Forgot it was 1st thursday of the month and all the kids were at the Falkirk Wheel so there were police all over Falkirk. They let me go once they'd checked the reg against ANPR though, realised they didn't have a chav just a hungry sportscar driver! 5t.

the squiggle Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Dissappointed in missing this one, first Gla meet i have missed in a long time. Started to leave at 1850 with the intention of heading to the BK at Hillington for some food and filling the car with gogo juice. Emptied the two marquees from my back seat, really need to find somewhere more permanent for these bleeding things, into my van along with my tent and other bits and bobs. Jumped in the car and proceeded to start it, being completely underused it is a ###### to start after sitting for a while (think the belt may be out 1 tooth but thats another whinge), it gave 2 lethargic turns and died on its erse.................... So i had a hunt for my jump leads, time was now 1905 so still time to fire the thing up, fuel it and get to Hillington in time for departure. Think i gave my jump leads to someone on here but cant for the life remember who. Credit being non existant on the phone and the works phone being in the work, funnily enough, i could not seek assistance fromk the myriad of members gathered not 1 mile away, as the Seagull on crack flies and about 2.5 miles on tarmac. Time was now 1913 and the departure schedule was going a bit Pete Tong So i proceeded to thrash the living daylights out the car in a style Basil Fawly would have been proud so much so my old man, he does not like me to call him father, gave me a ticking off for the obscenities i was producing at high volume. I then hurt my back, being built like the gable end of a £5 note, humphing those bleeding 40kg plus Wendy bloody houses back out of my van, seriously get them ta **** before i burn them, and into the back of the Scoob Time was now 1923 and i retired upstairs defeated and hurt to roll one Bob Marley would have been proud of and chased some Germans around the Norisring for a couple of hours. Nanaki phoned at 1930 on the dot to enquire where the resident idiot was, i explained my situation, he tried to coax me, the Windows XP sign has just appeared so i held fast and politely refused GMac phoned at 1932 stating he could come over and jump me if required (Thanks mate but i really could not take up your offer as i was in the Premier League of being p1$$ed off) I forgot all about my troubles at approx 1938 as i the rest of the evening away chasing Germans around the Norisring. 2102....took dog for pee out the back yard and the lady across the back decided to get ready for bed with the curtains open. 2138....Apologised to my car and offered to buy it dinner at Peter's to make up for the beating

micra_wrc Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 (edited) oh i reckon i can give you a run for your money. Up at 0445 to get out the door in time to catch the 0600 train to Newcastle, to chair a meeting and get yelled at. Meeting scheduled to finish at 1430 but over ran by 30 mins. Made it to the train station to catch the 1535 train back, only to find that it was running 20 mins late. Got the 1559 one and had to get off at Edn Waverly to get shuttle train back to Gla (since GNER in their infinite wisdom decided to cancel the direct train that took me straight to Gla). Weaved through the tourists, nipped through the M&S shop to get on 1745 only to hear some ding ###### announcement that there was some problem at Croy and that the train was going to make an extra stop at Lenzie... grr Got a seat on the train and decided fire up my Nintendo DS for some Mario Kart action.... only for the battery to die Got back to Queen St at 1855 and had to leg it to Buchanan St underground to get home. Ticket machines were all closed, there was a queue at the ticket counter and I had just missed a train. Got in the door at 1915, had to give up the cuppa tea that I was looking forward to and fire up the scoob to get to Hillington. Thankfully I had petrol in the car and made it in time, looking a bit harassed as I greeted Ally and Nanaki. Edited September 7, 2007 by micra_wrc
micra_wrc Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 and why has the swear filter blocked "d0ng"?

Imagine the chaos that would have ensued if the RA had a flat battery or something similer. I would say you win on a technicality as always

micra_wrc Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 but then you got lost at Broadwood???? err, no... we wanted to go the long way round
the squiggle Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Oh, the icing on the cake. I am surprised Cumbernauld is still in one peice to be honest
nanaki Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I have to say it was a great night for those that mad it. As for those with bad nights the DS running out of power is a killier. that wins hands down!!!
marky.t.s Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 err, no... we wanted to go the long way round Not to worry ,at least it provided us with entertainment as you lot passed by ,besides PaulC555 and the central mob done the same
st3ph3n Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I got mildly lost on the way out of Cumbernauld. I decided to go a different way, then realised all the roads look the same and ended up not where I was trying to go. So I just enjoyed the nice roads of Cumbernauld and the sound of my car reverberating off anything and everything. Oh and Imy - GNER trains cancelled due to the works at Waverley. My Scotrail home to Motherwell was jam packed with people who had jumped on it from the cancelled Glasgow train before the one you got - hence why yours made an extra stop. I did get a seat, but unfortunately it was a bit of a tight squeeze as there was 3x as many people on the train. It then proceeded to be 15 minutes late. Which meant I didn't get home to Bothwell until about a minute to 7. Strapped on the dancing shoes, grabbed the socket set and my dinner - a bottle of Fanta Z - then flew out the house. I think I arrived at 19:31 though. Still, great night. Good to see loads of faces. Spoke to a few but could never get round everyone. Good to hear the new forum etc. is being appreciated too.
andy Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 If I'd sussed this was on I'd probably have come along as I wasn't doing much else, but my brain is still a bit kerfuddled with all that's gone on and all that's still going on.

fai17 Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 So sad i miss this one....but at least i walked about 10 mile round my restaurant as it was so f....ing busy
mrbadger Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 (edited) I got so excited on the fumes of V-Power that I forgot to take a decent amount of photo's. I'm sure someone took some photos at Hillington? Great chatting to those I managed to get round. A few of us 'Wagoneers' got chatting and time flew past. I didn't manage to speak to as many peeps as I'd have liked. Was a good night - but I wanted to go for a big drive afterwards. Where did all the red cars go? Was mine the only one there? I'm sure there was another one at Hillington. Edited September 8, 2007 by MrBadger
b6jmy Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 i cant beleive i missed this 2 minites away from my home bummer
