I've had big problems strut wise with my 270 also. Kev At T&C told me that they are particularly bad for eating the chocolate struts. Dunno why. I'm looking at places to get the geometry re-done on mine, as since having 5 new struts in a year, the tyres are starting to wear pretty un-evenly. Al

Anyone recommend somewhere I can get the above done on my GB270? Since I've had 5, yes thats 5 Struts on my car replaced in the last year, my tyres have started to wear unevenly. The dealer I got the work done at wanted 2 hrs labour(£) to sort - Just looking for any specialists who would do a good job for a wee bit less. Thanks again guys.

Cheers for the replies guys. Falkirk/Stirling and Glasgow are probably too far for me to travel. Anyone used Town and County since they dropped the franchise? And does the SIDC discount still apply there?

Yeah, have used AWD in the past guys, but the car was'nt split new. I'm just of the thinking that I'd be better off using main dealers for the first 3 years before I punt the car. If the car was over 3 years old, I wouldnt think twice about taking it to AWD or Hypertech, as I know they are top places, and know their stuff.

Right guys, the car is due its first service. Have Narrowed it down to Either Aird Motors in Beauly, Auto-Ecosse In Dundee, or John R Weir in Perth. Either way its gonna be a fooking long drive from Lossiemouth! Anyone had any dealings with these places, and whats the likely cost? £200ish? Cheers P.S - Would be interested to hear if anyone has used Autoecosse especially, seeing as they have just got the franchise. Also, any of the Dundee/Tayside lads approached them about SIDC discount etc? Al

Look out, I'll be loading some of the jets bombing and shootin Garvie Island! Knowing our Jockeys, they have a tendency to miss the target every now and again.

I had all 4 of mine replaced by Town And County after just 4000 miles on my GB270! Whilst in getting done, they told me that they had already had a 2008 car getting its struts replaced, so I'm pretty sure they are still fitting the crap ones made of chocolate. Speaking to Kev at T&C when they did mine, he reckons most of the problems with the struts could be cured with a mod, rather than replacing the whole strut, but for some wise reason, Subaru wont do it.

Have used Eden a few times in the past, in fact bought my last STi from them. Not overly impressed with there aftersales service tbh. The only main dealer i've considered myself well happy with, was S&S in Ayr. However, its a hoor of a drive from Lossiemouth to Ayr! I've never heard a bad word spoken about Grieves in Falkirk/Stirling however, and know nothing about John R Weir in Perth.

I really begrudge taking my car to them. Too many times have they ripped me off. Kev, however is a good guy, and has helped me out. I just wish there was a main dealer closer to me, hence why I've enquired before about anyones dealings with Aird Motors in Beauly.

I think the main gripe we have in the UK is the amount the government TAXES us on fuel, not Oil Company Profits. Good read though Cal.
