  1. Great stuff Peter , Can you bring some along to the Glasgow meet tonight (Thursday 2nd ) please ? http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/815745/ShowPost.aspx See you there mate [Y] Al.
  2. I asked S&S about this when I had my previous '99 scoob with extended warranty . They said it should have been noticed and dealt with at service checks . [] Al.
  3. Thats enough lads , this is my 'clutch' thread so put a damper on it [] Al. Ps , many thanks for your help today Peter - you are a true gent [Y]
  4. A 'certain person' ,who shall remain nameless (don't want to embarrass Gmac ... oops its out now [:$]) Ran his slipping clutch for a week or so . As the days went on it slipped more and gripped less . . . Untill it only slipped and didn't grip at all[] My car is my daily driver - I can't risk it . Al.
  5. [] I felt a wee bit of slip last night on my way home from Peters place - This morning it was happening a bit on the way to work too . Looks like my clutch is finally on the way out [] I'll be phoning Greersport in the morning . Fingers x'd they'll be able replace it ASAP. I can't really grumble as it has nearly done 65k on the original . Meanwhile I have use of my pensioner Mums clio automatic (no giggling at the back [^o)]) so I may have to turn up at the Glasgow meet in that on Thursday [:$] Al.
  6. lol [] Al
  7. Sure have Dave [] That'll be over a year now . The car has changed a wee bit since then , though its nothing like that beast of yours [] Bring it along to a Glasgow meet sometime (this Thursday !) and let us see it . ATB, Al.
  8. Jacked-up , bull-barred , ltd-ed , import wrx . For the Australian market , I believe . I've never seen one in the flesh , but there was one in Autotrader for a while that fits that description Del . Rare in the UK . HTH, Al.
  9. Welcome aboard tosh 32 [] Look forward to meeting you at the Glasgow area meet Thursday 2nd November . Al.
  10. lol 'Peter's Performance Puddings' GT has an Audi now [] Al.
  11. All you wanted to know about tyres here , including a conversion calculator near the bottom of the page [] http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html HTH, Al.
  12. GT will be making a guest appearance on Saturday too Peter . Can U reserve us a table please ? Do you do PPP for Audis ? Al
  13. Only the Salmon lol [] Seriously , there are some great prizes up for grabs folks , and more to come ... As with previous raffle , tickets can be purchased in person or by post from Fai17 , and any prizes drawn will be sent out to the winners - you don't have to be present on the night . Al.
  14. That is just what we are looking for [Y] Scottishscoobies.co.uk Santa Cruise '06 (or 2006) For all the participating cars . And... Rally-type 'Scooby Santa' with a wee saltire , for the rear windows of Mr Clauses car for each of the events . Ally.
  15. APS cold air kit in mine too [] http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/products_int.html Al.
  16. Of course you can G - you can 'keep the edgy' []
  17. I think St3ph3n was inspired by some of the Glasgow runs this year . At least 3 involved travelling through the clyde tunnel. A couple of short videos were recorded , but they didn't turn out as good as expected .[] He has since 'discovered' a cracker of a tunnel , which we should be able to run through one car at a time . Very narrow - but very , very loud [6] We'll be having a wee bash there after the Glasgow meet on Thursday 2nd [] I think that any credit for 'tunnel run' video idea should go to the ESC (Essex) who have produced a couple of DVDs involving 60+ scoobs roaring through miles of London tunnels - well worth seeing [H] Our attempt will be nothing like the scale of ESCs , but it should be a good laugh for those involved and if we can get a bit of video/audio footage , all the better . For obvious reasons the location can't be publicised - but if other clubs want to know more details , they only have to ask. Al.
  18. Do you have a date and time yet Paul ? I'm sure that the Glasgow members won't mind me saying that we will support your area (as well as all Scottish Scoobies areas) in any way we can . And vice-versa - if any of your members would like to participate in the Glasgow or Edinburgh events - please do [Y] Gus , can you help with decals mate ? I think that all areas would be looking for 'Scottishscoobies.co.uk' and 'Santa Cruise '06' ... and it was also mentioned to me that 1 pair of 'Scooby-Santa' window stickers for each area would be a nice touch ( for the car with MrClause in - of course [])... Please let us know ASAP please Remember that there is an SIDC trackday at K-H very soon (Sat 11th) where we can raise some monies via bucket-rattling , pax-laps etc with anything raised being split between the regions . Any other areas - or any members not involved with a particular area , don't be shy [] Imy (micra_wrc) can send you sponsor/donation sheets , which you can return to your nearest R.O. Please help out folks [Y] Ally.
  19. The next Glasgow meet will be on Thursday the 2nd of November . Location will be the Hillington Brewers Fayre . Time will be 7 for 7:30 . I'm going to ask the manager to reserve us a few tables to let us hold our meeting . Then . . . . Once the traffic has died down . . . . . We'll be going for a wee run to the afore mentioned tunnel . [6] [:-*]Word-is a 'Squirrel-vision' camera-crew will be present [~] Hope that meets with everyones approval [] Ally.
  20. With a bit of Gas-meters cheesecake and some of this stuff , my jalopy is pushing out about hmmmmm - don't know [] lol [] Al
  21. I 100% agree with you Craig . When I had my car mapped by Andy I asked for it to be mapped for 'real' roads not rolling roads . I have lost count of the number of times I've been asked how much BHP it produces . Personally I don't know and don't care . On real roads however (private ones obviously []) it has shown a clean set of heels to many "more powerful" scoobs . Mine was tuned on a tight budget using mostly secondhand parts as... 1/ I'm poor and 2/ I've no interest in entering into a biggest/fastest/dearest contest. Mine is reasonably quick , handles pretty well and , at the end of the day , as long as I'm happy with it - that is all that matters. Al.
  22. The Glasgow area Santa Cruise will take place on Sunday 10th December . We will have a convoy through the city with the cars done up in Christmas decorations , tinsel etc (prize for best decorated car ?) - route to be confirmed . The convoy will arrive at Yorkhill Childrens Hospital at 1pm where 'Scooby-blue' Santa and his elfs will hand over presents . I have spoken to Yorkhill Hospitals PR girl Lorraine who will deal with informing the newspapers , local radio etc as well as arranging parking and unloading of presents at the hospital . Yorkhill have been quite specific about what we can/can't give as presents - so we would prefer cash donations . We will then use that to buy the kind of presents that the hospital would like for the kids. Imy (micra_wrc) has some sponsor/donation sheets available which STI pretender kindly made up . These will be handed out to everyone at the November Glasgow meet - anyone who can't make it to the meet , or who'd like their sheet sooner - please contact Imy (micra_wrc) or Robert (STI pretender) Peter (Fai17) is running a raffle which will be drawn at the SIDC Christmas meal being held at his restaurant (Kwang Tung , George st ,Paisley) All raffle money and profits from the meal are going towards presents . We are still looking for some more raffle prizes - the more the merrier . Raffle tickets are already available from Peter in person or by post - see here http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/809433/ShowPost.aspx We are looking for stickers for the cars IE Scottish Scoobies Santa Cruise 2006 and www.scottishscoobies.co.uk if anyone has any contacts who could help with this please let us know ASAP . We are also looking for large poster(s) with Scottish Scoobies Santa Cruise 2006 and www.scottishscoobies.co.uk to display who we are ,before the convoy and when parked at the hospital - again , anyone who can help us with this , please get in touch ASAP. We are looking for a good turnout on the day - the PR girl said that previous years had been great and really cheered up the kids , so lets try to make this years another good one . Thanks , Al.
