White classic heading towards Dartford past darenth valley hospital about 4:15 this afternoon. Silver classic and P1 (with FMIC?) Bluewater shortly afterwards.

How loud is it? Just wondering if it's exhaust related. I managed to blow the baffles in my back box (or I thought I had, any excuse for....) so fitted a new exhaust. Sounded a bit like a tearing sound, again only happened under heavy acceleration on boost. Was told it may be the wastegate but a new zorst fixed it. Now have a new car and have just fitted a decat centre and am now getting a very slight version of the same thing.

Had just my centre section done there the other day. Didn't think it would feel any different, just sound a bit nicer. Wrong. Sounds much better and is a lot more responsive too, well happy[]. Hopefully get some other bits done later this year[Y](If i can wait that long[])

Just got my reminder form the dvla and it's going to be £190 for a year!!!!!!!!! What really rubs salt in the wound is the tax for a 2.6 litre merc estate is only £175 (or something like that). Surely that would have higher emissions. Tho if they are going to charge me for loads of emissions I might as well get my money's worth. One step closer to the decat[]

Just wondering because I always use either the shell in Northfleet (next to the ford place) or the one at the end of the rochester/gravesend road at the lion garage. The car DEFINITELY runs better on the optimax from the shell at the lion garage. Have heard rumours of an optimax+ fuel in the pipeline and that shell were testing it out first. Didn't know if anyone knew anything.

That's bad news[:@].Damned inconsiderate ba***rds. A group of us came out of the pub once and had been blocked in, tried to find the owner of the car but no luck so decided to move it ourselves. Couple of us got round the back and bumped the car out the way. Unfortunately, the suspension which obviously wasn't used to that amount of travel, dropped out and refused to go back down, leaving the offending vehicle in a nose dive position. We left. Quickly.

Wheels looking good mate. At least geometry settings and springs wont be so obvious[]. Fitted decat centre section to mine today, old one's now wrapped up in boot and will be coming out when I've managed to get rid of the old centre section of my last car which is still sitting in the garage(she'll never know the difference[]), for similar reasons!!! Glad everythings back on an even keel.

PPP is an ecu chip, exhaust and a bit of hose under the bonnet, takes power from 208-215 to 245ish, on a classic, 225-265 on a blobeye wrx and 265 to 305 on an sti. Cost is between £1600 and £2000 fitted through dealers I think. Good thing is its warranty friendly[Y]. If you're not bothered about a warranty you can get more bang for your buck going through a specialist, decat exhaust £5-600, remap £600ish, air filter £40, etc.

Meant to add if you're going for a remap, try and do it after you've modded everything else, cos if you change something big afterwards you'll need another one.

Firstly, welcome to the club Most popular upgrades seem to be air filter (not necessarily an induction kit, panel filter ok upto about 320bhp), decat exhaust and an engine remap to go with it. Dump valve isn't really necessary unless you like/want the noise as the standard holds up ok unless you start upping the boost a fair bit. Popular air filters are green, sti, and k&n and there are loads of companies that deal with exhausts, TSL motorsport, scoobyworld, hayward and scott to name just a few. For a remap I'd give andy forrest a try (www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk I think). Another handling upgrade are some solid rear droplinks and a proper geometry setup. Downsides? Fuel consumption.[] Hope you enjoy the car

As far as the best place to measure the tread I think the law says something like at least 1.6mm tread depth across at least 75% of the surface. So in the middle and a bit to each side?

Has the bloke at the insurance company ever thought he may be in the wrong job!!!!!!!! Had one once where I actually went out side and read off the back of the car, "subaru impreza 2000 awd". I had explained it was a subaru, an impreza, a uk car, a turbo with 4wd, but also known as awd. Woman reckoned she'd never heard of it and I had to be more specific!!!!!!!!!! I hung up. Should have mentioned a FMIC, just for the hell of it, would probably have finished her off lol
