  1. yip, the car in the background is now facing a different way.[]
  2. The wife and i have decided to explore more of this great island that we live on (as long as it's within v-power range ) so it's back to getting out the tent and gas cookers, so i've bought a roof-box for the old wagon, colour coded it to the car added a few go even more faster stripes and a few decals, overall i'm pretty chuffed how it's turned out, craig.
  3. Shaun, could he be talking about your front splitter having fallen off in the accident rather than the rear spoiler.?
  4. Can only offer my commiserations Shaun, that is indeed a sad,sad sight.I can only guess how gutted you'll be feeling at this moment. I'm also a bit surprised at how much damage your P1 has taken. Mind you hitting a corsa driven by a female hippo must have been like hitting a brick wall !. You live to tell the tale and at the end of the day, that's all that really matters. craig.
  5. Neil, I touch goats. Craig.
  6. Thanks John, Thought as much, it's dropped a small pool of anti-freeze overnight so i reckon it's probably sweating but not terminal at the moment but obviously needs replaced soon. Thanks for the offer but would rather try and locate a full time solution, would have been up at the Doune hill climb tomorrow but got a wedding today so i'll be a bit fragile a bit like my radiator. craig.
  7. I've developed what looks like a radiator leak. Do the Jap Import STI's and UK Classics share the same radiator? i suspect they do but would like some expert confirmation. And while i'm at it does anyone have one for sale? Craig.
  8. Yip, that sure looks like a find and a half. 31k on a car that's 7 years old.[] With the subtle colour coding and tasteful mods this is going to be a top wagon.[Y] craig.
  9. Mothers day comitments, run my daughter back home but tomorrow we're heading north for a few days holiday.
  10. Marky.t.s - your avatar photo, is that you at the top of the ' wilderness brae' ?
  11. Ac!d - yip that was my black wagon, i take it that was you that was down picking up the gearbox?
  12. Not long back from Andy's, couldn't have hoped for a better session, nice cool, dry and quiet day traffic wise. Car performed and responded brilliantly. Mid-range pull through to 6k revs is really pleasing, car feels like it's got a whole new lease of life. Thanks again Andy . Craig.
  13. That's the wagon fully de-catted and an uprated fuel pump fitted. Booked in at Andy's for this Friday 02/03/07 for it's Apexi Re-map. Excited? you bet.
  14. Nice car Gus, a classic of the classic's.
  15. What are you using to fix your apex commander to your dash? double sided tape?

  17. If it's a my99 then it won't have the 'coil packs' that cause the normal problems on the early model imprezas.
  18. Hi Ciaran, I've been running a sti-wagon for the last year now, it's got no more room than a standard uk wagon. Both have the fold down rear seat back which gives ample room for golf clubs , i even managed to squeeze a 6' 6" sofa bed in. The bonus from the sti wagon is what's under the bonnet but apart from that , space wise they are identical. craig.
  19. ECU Reset<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> On early MYs (especially pre MY97) the ECU retards the ignition when knock is detected, however, it is very slow to advance the timing again. An ECU reset will restore the car to factory default settings. This will remove any stored fault codes and restore ignition advance. It is possible to reset the ECU by following these steps: <?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /> Turn ignition OFF Connect Read Memory Connectors & Test Mode Connectors (jumper 5) [black connectors] – (jumper 6) [green connectors] Turn ignition ON (engine off) Engine Check lamp turns on Depress accelerator pedal completely Then return it to the half-throttle position and hold it there for two seconds Release pedal completely Start engine Code is indicated by Pulsing lamp If a fault is detected - Check ECU Code If no fault is detected - drive the car sensible for a couple of minutes i.e. until warm (do not run tall & do not thrash it!) When the ECU has been reset the Check Engine Light will flash Code is indicated by Pulsing lamp If a fault is detected Check ECU Code Turn ignition OFF & Disconnect Connectors If there is a fault Check Appropriate Sensor Back to top Finding Those Connectors As said above, in order to perform diagnostic & ECU resets you need to find the Black Read Memory Connectors & the Green Test mode Connectors (alternatively there is the dash option shown above but this is even more tricky). The connectors are located under the dash up by the steering column. If they have not been used before they are usually taped quite high up & can be difficult to find, but they are there, once untaped they dangle down and are quite easy to use. Here is a poor photograph of the Black Read Memory Connectors & Green Test Mode Connectors on my Scooby.
  20. Cheers Johnny, The origonal catted d/p is coming off, so i expected problems and would prefer to use new for old. "It's a quick and easy job" this will be the first then. thanks craig.
  21. I've got a de-cat downpipe on route for my98 sti, i've ordered a turbo>d/p gasket from subaru today...................... but can anybody tell me what fixings are used ? M6 / M8 set screws? Length ? cheers Craig.
  22. Here's where mine is located, yours should be here as well, the blue box shaped thing to the right of the arrow is my alarm. It's easier to remove it( 2x's 10mm nuts) for getting the carb cleaner skooshed in. Hope this solves the mystery. craig.
  23. Mines getting a C&C downpipe , can't wait to see how the wife heat wraps it up for under the xmas tree.
  24. .............same nissan,same outcome,same pash quality...
  25. I take my hat off to his driving skills as he never looked like loosing it all day, more than i can say about the bmw m3 convertable that totally lost it coming out of the hairpin.
