  1. Doubt it! I used to do that run every other weekend in my classic for the past three years, if you drive at 70 all the way it might take you 2 but Im guessing its more like 3! Even in my Hawkeye I would struggle for two stops. Regards WJ
  2. You should also consider an uprated Rear Anti Roll Bar (If you can find one to buy), that will/should help take the twitchy feeling away. Should make it more solid/ stable drive in the corners. WJ
  3. Just bought the Prodrive springs myself & fitting them to the standard STi shocks. I am removing my coilovers to go back to a more standard setup. I cant find any other shocks on the market apart from Prodrive or changing to coilovers. I know I will end up putting on the Prodrive struts, its only a matter of time. Wee Jock
  4. Dean, can you fit my drop links, anti roll bars front & rear & Prodrive springs. I now live along the M1 passed the M6 on to the M74 along the M8 head for the A82 and I am just off there somewhere. Good luck & all the best Paul

  9. Its best to have the same tyres all round, however, as long as the front two tyres are the same and the rear two are the same its not the end of the world. (Change the back two, then change the front two to match the back when required) I have had Scoobies for the last 8 years and I always use TOYO's (Proxes T1R), find them to be an excellent all round tyre. Cheapest place I know of is Davey Stuarts Garage in Dumbarton, next to Dumbarton Common & Central Train Station. 01389 764449| Dumbarton Service Station, Townend Road, Dumbarton, Dunbartonshire G82 2RB Phone and ask to speak to Davey, should get a good deal. Good thing to do is get your choice and size of tyre, phone round different companies for prices, you will see a great fluctuation in price. Paul

  18. Had Eibach on my Classic along with Kayaba AGX adjustable shocks and it was an excellent setup, cant find these for the Hawk, that would be my first choice.
  19. I want to replace the coilovers on my Hawkeye STi, I want to stay away from coilovers! I am having the droplinks and antiroll bars changed for Whiteline items and I need some advice on the best adjustable struts and springs to suit. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks Any RB320 owners who have driven the Hawkeye STi, how does the Prodrive suspension/ handling compare between the two?
  20. Having worked for a utility company I can confirm that they must reinstate the blockwork to the condition it was in (or better) before work commenced. If they have left blocks out and not reinstated them with new blocks this could constitute as a trip hazzard and they would be liable for any claim there after. Take photgraphs, send them to TRANSCO customer services, contact the governing body of gas utility companies, (dont know who that is but youll get it on internet) and also complain to the Local Authority & your Local MP. If you get no joy (and Im sure you will) after you have sent them all the details, have an accident Think that covers it.
  21. Here's the latest edition of average speed cameras as reported on Sky News today! Plans For New Speed Cameras On All Motorways 1:19pm UK, Monday January 25, 2010 Tom Bonnett, Sky News Online Average speed cameras could be fitted on all of Britain's motorways if new proposals to slash carbon emissions are approved by the Government The devices lead to fewer accidents and speeding tickets on the roads where they are installed than normal speed cameras, a new report by the Government's environmental advisers claims. The Sustainable Development Commission is calling for cameras to be installed on all motorways in the UK because it is predicted that if all drivers stuck to 70mph, the UK's carbon emissions would be cut by 1.4 million tonnes. In its report the Commission says drivers slam on the brakes when they see a speed camera and accelerate away as soon as they have passed it. But, it argues, average speed cameras, which measure speed over distance rather than one point, encourage smoother, more environmentally-friendly driving. The call for more average speed cameras comes days after London Mayor Boris Johnson announced the devices would be introduced on the A13 in East London. The Government is poised to approve a new generation of cameras that can trace the speed of journeys over a network of streets. If this goes ahead the devices will be fitted on all urban residential roads with a 20mph speed limit. The report also suggests capping all cars to make it impossible to break the speed limit and teaching motorists "eco-driving" techniques. Car sharing clubs should also be encouraged to grow and the use of technologies such as video conferencing should be used to reduce the need to travel, the report says. Oh how the UK is messed up!
