  1. Aye , no bad. But i work in the borders and it's even better down there
  2. Good advice Gus. 99/00's are well known for thier fragile maf's. They can fail for no apparent rreason but oiled filter's are a sure fire way of breaking one. If you must fit an induction kit make sure it is a dry one, apexi has been tested as the best. I've got a used one lying about if you want to take a look at one. I would advise you leave the standard airbox in place until either it starts to become a limiting factor (around the 400 bhp mark) or you want to fit a fmic and it doesn't fi any more. Well i've just fitted an APS cold air kit on the advice from Andy F..Is this bad advice then ?
  3. Not sure buddy, i think they sometimes run a higher octane ( imports), hence need octane booster unless remapped for uk fuel. Better off asking someone who knows the score for peace of mind It might be a reason why they go bang in the first place ?
  4. So is the APS cold air kit not as good because of the slightly oiled filter ? I bought one on the advice of Mr F to name but one.
  5. Depends who built it i suppose.. would it need remapped for the right fuel /safety and more power ?
  6. edited: don't want to talk about that place any more lolol Good luck with the search mate.
  7. What other mods are you planning along with the cold air kit ? Yes, you'll need it mapped
  8. As above , these guys are well known for having ridiculous prices though the cars do seem tempting when you go to have a look. Can't say i've got much time for the owner either but that's just my humble opinion . As said before there are LOADS of good quality cars out there, just take your time and have a look at a good few and take someone with you who knows the brand well. Could save you alot of cash in the long run. Is it a Wagon your after ? and what kind of spec are you looking for ?
  9. Stunning piece of kit mate. What size are they ? they look HUGE
  10. Welcome back Rob.. [Y] Enjoy your new motor .[]
  11. Hello and welcome to the forums buddy.
  12. I like that ..[Y] Looks [H]
  13. Any news on prices for uprated clutches yet ? If you are the same guy. cheers
  14. There was a post a little while ago with a guy trying to set up a group buy on these. Haven't heard much since though. You could try either Greersport or Hypertech for prices.
  15. ignore him mate, everyone else does [] Not everyone []
  16. Want a bet [][] inconsiderate drivers come in ALL shapes and sizes...Sadly
  17. Cheers Stephen. B&Q it is then. Just thought i'd check here first to see what everyone else has fitted. Trial and error here i come []
  18. Right folks, need some advice. I've just fitted a Hyperflow TMIC and it sits very close to the bonnet and scoop so was thinking about fitting some kind of mesh grille to protect it. I,ve had a quick look about but I'm not sure what size to go for .. ie; size of holes on the mesh..if you get my drift. Too compact will surely restrict air flow and too big will let small stones and the like in.. What do you think ? Where would be the best place to source some ? cheers.
  19. There's a place in Loanhead (near Ikea) that does them but dont remember the name sadly and im sure someone said there's a tyre place near the Wisp that might do them..sorry i cant help with the names yet.. I'll ask at work through the week for the details . ps; i've got standard 16's with F1's on them sitting in the garage if you need them..one has a nail in it but can be fixed as it's in the middle of the tyre.
  20. I know what you mean Davie. A guy at work last week said " I saw two of your lot racing down the main street last night".. Just because i have a subaru why should i be classed in the same mould and be tarred with the same brush. [:@]
  21. I've kinda wondered that myself oobster as there is a 51 plate silver wagon just up the road from me. I take it there was a handful of cars registered late on then?
