Nice sunny day, bored working from home so I thought i'd remove the Bailey Vent To Air dumpvalve that I fitted to my car about a year ago.
The reasons for removing it were:
1. Over-revving going from 2nd into 3rd and from 3rd into 4th - this started happening roughly round about the time I fitted the dump valve
2. Just got a bit bored with the sound.
After a couple of skint knuckles and the hassle of retrieving several tools and the odd bolt from the engine under-tray (D'oh!) I finally got the original one back on.
I now wished i'd done this ages ago - the over-revving between gears is gone and the car definitely seems to be boosting 'stronger'. Plus now there is no worry (myth or not) about bore-wash caused by over-fuelling!
Anyone want a free Bailey Vent-To-Air dump-valve for a newage? Needs a good clean-up. I think it's a DV 12
This is braw - a quick jump drop-down at the bottom of the screen, another drop-down on multi-page threads so you can jump to whatever page you want, the garage thing is excellent too!
Well done Andy, Phil, Stepehen and everyone else involved.
euan_r - how did you get the annimated avatar working mate? Doesn't seem to be working on mine!
Edit: Scrub that - file needs to be hosted off-site in order to animate.
Some pics from today's RR Day below. I've tried to resize them to fit the forum, and removed all the reg. plates (I think!)
Enjoyed the three hours I spent there this morning, before having to take the wife to the shops [] Well done to those that organised it and John's extreme set-up looks very professional.
Tried Collonite 915 on the Mrs new car last night - first time I've used it and it seemed ok. It was starting to get dark as I was finishing up though, so I couldn't tell how shiny the car was.
It wasn't that easy to come off though, but didn't leave any dust. Although that was probably the 1st time her car has seen any kind of product near it as it was a hire car before we bought it.

They have some excellent guides and godo products - I use the Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection from them and I think it's excellent.
Just had a look at the 5-day weather forecast on the BBC News website and it says weather for Anstruther on Sunday is heavy rain.

Jeez. Thats bad Alan, sorry to hear/see about your accident.
Have you considered buying it back from the insurance co. and repairing it yourself with parts picked up off of the for sale forums on here/SNet & eBay etc?
Although i'm no expert it could potentially work out considerably cheaper than £5.5K.
