Hi,
On the way to Japfest, my alarm lost its chirps when being armed/disarmed.
After talking to a few people, it seemed as though the ECU may be at fault. After searching on the web for 2 days this weekend, I found a glimmer of hope. I found other Scooby owners (mainly USA) had the same problem all of which said the alarm is programmable to set the chirps on or off.
Using the key fob I found there were many different ways to set it on or off which was dependant on the type of alarm. To cut a long story short, I found one of the combinations of key presses worked for me!
I had to disarm the alarm, get into the car, put the key into the iginition, turn the ignition on and then open the drivers door and arm the alarm. The Alarm will beep once and it will now be back on again.
Hey presto it worked. It now beeps twice when setting and once when disarming.
Other combinations that didn't work were:-
Disarm the alarm, and hold the panic button and arm button together for 5 secs.
or
Just Press the panic button whilst the igniton was on.
Well chuffed now! saves me buying an ECU.
Cheers
Lee
