  1. Just had a look at my T&C's which are below:- Enjoy earning pluspoints: It couldn’t be simpler to accumulate Shell V-Power pluspoints. You start to earn Shell V-Power pluspoints as soon as you reach the earning threshold of 300 litres per quarter – that’s just 25 litres a week. Members can earn an extra point per litre on V-Power fuel purchases, above and below the 300 litre threshold. Once you’ve reached the 300 litre points earning threshold, you’ll earn 1.5 Shell V-Power pluspoints for every litre of fuel that you’ve bought, including the first 300 litres. And that’s not all – once you’ve passed the earning threshold, you’ll earn 75 pluspoints for every 50 litres of fuel you buy. There’s no upper limit on the number of V-Power pluspoints you can earn each quarter, so V-Power pluspoints just gets more rewarding the more you drive. Shell Visa Card holders (who are also V-Power members) only have to buy 50 litres of fuel in a quarter to meet the threshold and qualify for more than double points. Take a look at the performance gauge to see how fast V-Power pluspoints will build up. Then it has the Red Gauge below it! It seems to be slightly different than the others T&C's on the link above in a previous post. Still not been invited to the V Power club even though i've reached the threshold. Wonder how long it takes! Cheers Lee
  2. Blimey, they have changed the rules, only last week the threshold was just 300 litres in a qtr now its 400. I wonder if I'm still on the old Terms and Conditions? they never informed me of the changes. Cheers Lee
  3. Anyone got a shell plus points card? You get double the points when you use V Power and if you use more than 300 Litres of V Power in a quarter then you get invited to the exclusive club. Anyone ever been invited to that yet? I haven't. Cheers Lee
  4. I didn't realise it was in Alton Hampshire, thought it may be Alton near Alton Towers if there is such a place. Sorry I can't make it. Cheers Lee
  5. I wouldn't mind going to Alton, what's happening? Cheers Lee
  6. Hi, Did they make this model of STi with them lights etc on 29th July 2002 Plate? Ebay Item number: 130024364314 I thought this model was 03 onwards. Cheers Lee
  7. Hi, Thanks for the info. this is really helpful. I paid £150 for all 4 struts and each one is a complete unit so no need to strip the springs etc. In all honesty, the knocking noise on the front is the top mount, the struts I have already are in good working order. To be sure i'm just going to swap the new (used) struts with the current installed ones. Do I need to support the hub when I remove the strut or just let it dangle whilst I change the strut over? I am worried when the hub drops it damages something i.e. puts extra force on the drive shafts etc. Cheers Lee
  8. Hi, Not seen the car, I saw the Struts on Ebay for sale. He said they were off a 52 plate STi Type R. The guy selling the struts is the director of a performance garage based in Durham. He said he removed the struts from the STi Type R and replaced them with electronic ones! How much would you pay for all 4 Struts with springs and top mounts that have covered only 15,000 miles? I spoke to the guy today and is genuine and very helpful, I guess they are like ProSport but based in Durham. Can't wait to fir them, does anyone know how easy it is to install the front struts and what the torque settings are for the bolts? I'm going to leave the rear struts alone as they don't knock yet!! Cheers Lee
  9. Hi, Does anyone know what the difference is between the 52 Plate Type R STi and my 52 Plate STi? I am thinking of putting the suspension struts of the Type R model on mine replacing my knocking ones. Cheers Lee
  10. Do you think its the same for V Power as it is for Octane Booster? My cars Fuel Flap has a sticker stating it must have RON 98 Fuel do you think the extra 1 RON in the V Power will cause any problems? [] I've never used Octane Booster before, whats the average RON increase when using it? Maybe it increases the old Opitmax Fuel way above RON 99 and that's why it causes you problems. Cheers Lee
  11. Hi all, I've started to use V Power and has made a significant difference to my car. The idle speed is lower now (Unsure why?) and the exhaust pops a little more on engine run down. The car feels sharper and up to now it seems to be doing slightly more MPG's than it did previously. Using Optimax I managed to cover 295miles on a full tank sometimes 305miles (driving normally with the occasional boost). The car hasn't yet used a full tank of V Power but already see the needle seems to be dropping slower than before. I have managed to drive 148miles and the needle is above the half way mark. Normally it is on or below this level. So up to now I am very happy with the fuel. 99.9p Litre at all Shell Garages around Bolton. Optimax used to be 101.9p Litre around Bolton. Highly recommend using it! Estimate it's probably 10 bhp more than before? Cheers Lee
  12. Hi all, Thanks for your comments everyone. I'll try to update the site later today with a few more clips. I have found the original adverts for the MY03 model and MY97 models. I experienced problems with my server provider and after much complaining, they gave me unlimited server space which means I can put as many clips on as possible. When I purchased the server I was limited to just 1gb space. Anyway, I'll keep it up to date. If you would like me to add any info or clips etc to the site then please let me know. Cheers Lee
  13. Ok good point hehe Cheers Lee

  18. Must admit I'm gutted its reached the 50k mark. I often think i'd love to keep the car stored in the garage and keep it low mileage, but then on the other hand I think, if I did that i'd miss the chance of a life time to own and drive a Subaru every day. At the end of the day, in the future I will sell the car, probably replacing it with a sensible car but at least I will have got my monies worth out this one and enjoyed it. I fully understand storing one, pro's and cons on both sides, but at the same time glad i'm able to drive it every day for work. Still plenty of life left in her yet. Cheers Lee
  19. Hi, Just had my 50k service done (car has done 48k) and cost me £400. Had a new Cam Belt and usual service items done, whilst it was in they noticed my Front Pads were almost showing metal so had them done to costing me an extra £177. The good news is they quoted me £120 for Front Pads thinking it was a WRX and not STi so I only paid the price they quoted [] and managed to get them to sort out my loose drivers seat. It knocked when cornering. They tightened a loose mount. The best thing out of the service was the front shock struts. I took my car to Prosport in Stockport a while back to find out why my Struts were loose in the arch (they made a klunking loose noise whilst driving very slow). Prosport said the top mounts were faulty and will need replacing costing approx £1000. As the car is only just out of warranty I spoke to Maltez Subaru (were my car is from) and asked for part payment repair. They declined but offered me the same parts from Malta saving costs, they did mention the £1000 price was high though for the repair and said shop around. After much deliberation I took the car to the subaru dealer Robinsons in Rochdale for a second opinion and have the service done at the same time. They said the struts just needed tightening which they did for free and all is perfect again!! They did say though the struts may still need replacing as it's unusal for them to come loose and the worn struts may be causing this. We shall see how I get on saved me £1000 for now. Malta are still providing a quote just in case! Goes to show though, don't just settle for one garage, shop around even Subaru suggest that! (No Consistency) Where's the good weather I want to polish my car again now [] Cheers Lee
  20. Pete i'm really looking forward to seeing it when its done. Can't wait [H] Lee

  24. Maybe thats why they crashed, they saw some pole dancers at the side of the road.
  25. Just thought i'd ask the question, is anyone going to this years WRC Rally in Wales December 1st -3rd? It seems to early to ask but from previous years I found it very difficult to get a B&B any sooner than this. I am going with my Brother and intend on filming it. Maybe we can go in convoy or stay at the same B&B. Hard to imagine how cold it will be in December with the 30 degree weather right now, I think a good pair of socks, thermal long johns and water proof gear will be required. Cheers Lee
