Thats a very good deal, wish I had done that before. I have spent £320 on buying 2nd hand struts and had them fitted. to think i could have bought brand new ones [] Never mind at least I know now hehe. Prosport never mentioned an alternative to the standard ones, I assumed the alternative makes would be more expensive, they quoted me £1500 ish for all four new standard. I ruled out alternative straight away. Can't wait now [Y] much appreciated for the advice. []

Good deal that, whats the ride like using the standard STI springs, I take it it's the same height. I am definelty going to buy some. Is that £400 for the front only?

Thats a good price, how much will it be for fitting? Does that include Springs or do I need my old springs? I am new to this sort of thing. Is Gas better than Oil filled?

I asked the repairer why and they say the top mounts become elongated. It's the struts top mounts on mine that are knocking again! When I push down on the front of the car you can feel the top mount knocking. I'm not really after anything different perfromance wise to the standard ones. My main aim is to repalce the cheap cr*p the STi comes with and fit something that will last. Cheaper the better whilst maintaining good quality.[]

The have probably been on the track all their 18,000km life. Which the Subaru authorised repairer mention is the main cause of the knocking problem. They say the top mounts hole elongates with the stress due to soft metal they use in the manufacturing process.

Also hehe, does anyone know why the standard knock in the first place?? Would it cause the alternative suspension to do the same?

Thinking of buying new suspension for my car to replace the knocking standard ones. Does anyone know which is the best alternative and how much they will be? I am looking at replacing the front two first then the rear later. Cheers Lee

I'm still considering whether to buy them or not to be honest. It's a major gamble with these things, finding some that don't knock is very hard as I have already found out. Then again its cheaper than the £1600 bill for new [:|] I've offered him £300 then I will have to fit which will cost me approx £170 from Subaru. I paid £150 for the ones I have on already and £168 for the installation (with Alignment). I'm half way now to buying new if I purchase these [:^)] So undecided, thanks for your help anyway Rasher it was good of you to check your car for me. I put a silly offer in for the Struts and he accepted [] Before I actually pay for these, Rasher do you know if the suspension on the S202 is lower or stiffer than the STi? Cheers Lee

Just noticed your thread, bad news that, hope your ok. Just out of interest were the tyres Potenza Tyres, I always thought they were run flat. I'm gonna go with a different type if the run flat design doesn't work. Not had chance to read all through this thread, hope the car is fixing up ok. Cheers Lee

Looks good, should help prolong the life of your engine. Will it fit in the same position as the S202's? It will look good there.

Do you want to sell them? Do they knock?
