  1. What sort of price you going to be looking at Ian - assume these might fit mine?
  2. You couldn't have missed it by much - think it was around 1.30
  3. I know that, just thought that by spelling it out in full it might compete with matt@. . . . . but it's still much shorter
  4. No, was at home, just happened to notice his latest postings didn't show his full name - then realised why
  5. Road was still closed when I came past on my way home at 7am - lot of police still on scene
  6. whats the list for?
  7. . . . . is there a user on here with a name longer than 'm@tt untimateSTImulation'? And there was me thinking 'twentywithascooby' was long enough Unless you're driving a stretch-Scooby wagon I reckon you're going to have to shorten it especially if you're looking at window graphics
  8. In his day I'm surprised that they had colour at all - was all black and white or sepia wasn't it Hugh :
  9. Ring ahead and get your order on ScoobyHoo's tab
  10. Come on Hugh, keep up - we've already found out they're open - you're paying
  11. Just ordered up 2 teas, 2 cheese and bacon half-pounders, chips and donuts for about 6.30 ok? Will be round to you around 5.45 - think I can remember the way there ps, didn't order your food - not sure they do a salad
  12. Probably still queuing along the Embankment
  13. Ian - could always take a candle with you Trevor. Just phoned them - re-opened today so will be ok for food and a cuppa For those that don't know it, the Tea Hut stands at the far side of Blackheath at the junction with Shooters Hill Road (which is the A2) and Goffers Road - postcode SE3 0UA for those with xmas satnavs that they want to test. I'm likely to be going along so gonna have to give the car a wash/wax - will make a change from Southends cold seafront and its a lot nearer. Are you going Ian in which case will run up with you
  14. Don't want to spoil anything but the Hut has been shut for its Xmas holiday and certainly wasn't open when I came home from work last night. . . . wonder if it'll be re-opened by Saturday? There is a notice on the front but sadly I'm unlikely to be going past again before then
  15. 6158 calls in the 24 hours to midnight
  16. Nasty rta by the Well Hall roundabout in the early hours - 5 ambulances attended, 1 x fatal, 4 blued in, 2 under 7s We also went to a bus passenger in Peckham who'd been assaulted by the bus driver . . . . "The Empire Strikes Back"
  17. Sadly Lee, it happens regularly in London - none of the satnav stuff these little fcukers nick works without any of the internal comms stuff embedded into the vehicles - it just means our crews have to spend hours off road getting new stuff fitted and reconfigurated and the comms firm tend to work on a 9-5 basis so steal it Friday at 6pm and the vehicles laid up until lunchtime Monday at least. You and Rachel best bear this in mind if you need an ambulance to get her to maternity - go midweek
  18. We even had a call from someone who's mate had collapsed due to 'an allergic reaction to alcohol' Now that really is pee-taking at its finest!
  19. As expected another very busy night at work - we took our 1000th call for an ambulance at 01.56 and our 2000th at 03.35, so generally averaging 600 calls an hour - most of the calls had the words . . . floor, lying, drunk, fallen, assaulted. . . . in them somewhere so clearly there was a lot of people had a good time This contrasts with the build up to Christmas when we usually do around the 4000 mark a day!
  20. Hi Col, couldn't get hold of our plans for Wednesday night however you'll find everything you need, including road closure maps, at www.london.gov.uk/newyea***ve/ Doesn't like linking ARS in years with E of eve Have you thought about driving part the way then jumping a train?
  21. No idea, but perhaps you should let the wife do it in future
  22. Yep, are you stalking me now? Got there about 1030 and had no problem getting parked or getting away , unlike those arriving early afternoon . . . . . . Spotted a fully stickered up 55 plate at traffic lights at bottom of Welling Way on my way out - totally blanked but then got a wave from black 02 wagon at the Falconwwod end about 2 mins later
  23. Snowballs chance in hell, is the expression that comes to mind Col. Am back in work on Monday night and will post up precisely what time the roads are closing - usually very early - and just how far the exclusion zone goes out, even then got parking to think about. I went up by train last year as they do lay on a lot of late trains out of town but even then its a real pain - we were on Waterloo Bridge and it must have taken the best part of an hour to do the short walk along the Strand to Charing X station as you're all herded along between crush barriers. Personally wouldn't even think about the car m8y
  24. Not been too bad, although its livened up this afternoon and steadily getting busier. . . . few people hanged themselves - punters that is, not staff Still, going home in 15mins. Back in for more fun 'n games next week and New Years Eve night to look forward to
