  1. Is that when you pulled on to hard shoulder to let someone out to stretch their legs over that fence? Wondered if Highways might have a shot of that
  2. Hugh, do the council know about the lodger?
  3. Nightmare journey home as well - after refuelling at that Shell garage we got on to M40 just before 6 and were making really good time but then we couldn'rt decide whether to choose M25 clockwise or anti- and yes. . . we went clockwise and immediately hit snarl-up. Back to Dartford Crossing at 9:30. Made it a long, but enjoyable day The mosaic is in todays Sun, page 12
  4. There were 16 parties on the other list?
  5. On the evidence of our drive out on Monday how would you know? If it wasn't for your co-driver we'd have still been out there
  6. Took me nearly 2 hours to get back from Putney this afternoon good practice for Sundays convoy I suppose
  7. Depends what colour
  8. Wouldn't worry about the eyes Ian you'd be better off kidnapping someone for your co-pilot OR you could always bribe me and I'll see if I can remember the route. I know we started at Notcutts and then went via.......underneath.......turned left, or was it right........and ended up at the seaside.
  9. . . . schoolboy probably deserved it . . . . . correction, schoolboy would have deserved it
  10. . . . depends what year the calenders for
  11. Don't think ESC are leaving until later, 7ish? Think the plan was that we went by ourselves and arrived there early enough to beat the queues
  12. You might need to consider taking a few empty bottles with you on ScoobyHoos Fun day then
  13. Can we have your assurances that this information will not be passed on to Gary , the local Thai takeaway man lol
  14. Love to be going Ian but we're away that same day. Short of selling the route plan. . . . .hmmm, now there's an idea . . . .and without giving anything away, you'll need a full tank, decent map of the area, compass (since you'll not have the time or patience to try and get round using satnav) , emergency rations just in case you do get lost (or should I say for when you get lost) and spare bottles to pee in - not many toilets en route Oh yes, a co-driver would be really really useful - if there's anyone travelling 3-up, kidnap'em Ian! One final comment and thats Hugh has spent a lot of time over this, especially that route and I hope everyone enjoys themselves and appreciates it is only a fun day out and not some rally stage, although when you get out there, you might have second thoughts. Enjoy.
  15. No problem Hugh, it was an enjoyable afternoon and good to be involved especially as I can't be there on the day. I still think that we should have left in your original instruction to 'turn left' when you clearly meant 'turn right' - the thought of participants heading towards each other down that country lane . . . . . and you at the end of the rally thinking "hmmmm, they should have been here by now" Still, despite that minor hiccup, I think you've chosen a good route and it should provide a great , if perhaps testing, day out from a driving and navigating viewpoint - after all its meant to be a fun day rather than a race and I'm sad I can't make it - especially as I now know the route
  16. Was that Granby driving the bus in the Birds Nest stadium at the Olympics Closing ceremony?
  17. Anyone you know - a personal recommendation perhaps Neil?
  18. Hugh, touched your goat about the fun day - can you get back to me? Touching my goat is probably best way to reply as I'm at work over weekend and can pick up your reply
  19. Kent Scoobies having a vote . . . well that should ensure you get a result by Christmas
  20. I've just had an email about the event overview pack and although I'm assuming everyone on here is receiving the regular updates I thought I'd reproduce the link so you can print off your own copy if you want to - McRae_Gathering_Participants_Guide Bugger, can't get it to work! It's a 13 page document and pretty well covers everything relative to the weekend
  21. Square wheels? You did after all buy some new tyres lol
  22. Thanks to Dean for the oil change and giving the car a 'once-over' Hope you managed to stay dry today
  23. What? no goat touching?
  24. Thought I'd got a leak on mine some time ago but luckily Deano666 discovered it was a problem with the fuel pump seal - seem to recollect him saying at the time that replacing the fuel tank could be a right b****d of a job - think he said the rear axle needs dropping as the tank straddles it ?? Sorry . . .
