Over the past few years have been into Europe on numerous occasions and generally feel the main roads and those through town are better than ours - its not often you see contractors digging up the road - perhaps its all down to the stuff they surface the roads with - doesn't fall apart like ours? Difficult to know what you're after and what to recommend - we spent a long weekend there in June 2007 and did the Eiffel tower (although we queued for hours) the Louvre, a late afternoon/early evening cruise along the Seine which gives you a great view of Paris from the river. We also spent time just strolling around the Ile de la Cite which is the two-island area near Notre Dame.
