  1. Ooh...that comparison is moot! I just changed from Falkens after crashing due to them being extremely slippy at 30mph on roundabouts....F1's back on and it feels like a Subaru again. GDS3 are getting hard to come by - got my 2 rears for £150 fitted .
  2. Gratz matey Got a 3 and 5 yr old myself and wife is wanting another now Grace is at school! Glad you are both well Lovely name too. My first was 9lbs too- luckily the labour for my wife was only 5hrs - then 2hrs for the next baby! lol
  3. I trust your specific knowledge on that BigBird It's a blobeye - so you will prob know if there is anything sharp under there?
  4. I am going to drop off my bumper to be repaired and resprayed...I MAY have to use the car once over the weekend so is it ok to drive without it? Not only from a legal view but a safety point and also can it do any damage - I have a TMIC so thats not an issue.
  5. Just wanted to thank Leon for not only getting me the great deal on Goodyear F1s but for fitting my exhaust and brake pads as a favour at his work (Kwik Fit). That's one branch I can trust not to damage anything - 2 Scooby drivers work there Cheers m8
  6. Thx to bobbyc and the lovely clean STi backbox he sold me my car is happy again - but very quiet! I have to say - it's quite nice for a change lol - only problem is I am driving it faster as it's not making any noise and there's no drama when you put your foot down - apart from the boost in speed! It's made it even more of a sleeper - little do people know there's 300bhp under the bonnet of that unassuming WRX that just passed them And, since the new F1s went on the car is handling great - so Falkens get the thumbs down from me!
  7. Don't know much info but a wee bird tells me that BANZAI are going top be at and around George Square tomorrow from about 9ish(am!)...for anyone in and around the area could be worth a nosey...wouldn't travel too far though as I'm unsure how definite this is. Will try to find out more today. Anyone know anything about this?
  8. Should you not let the coilovers settle a week or so before going for alignment?
  9. Cheers again all Gus - It's ok - Leon got the exhaust fitted for me - he said they had to check the engine was turned on so I'm not sure what I'll think of it being so quiet but it's going up for sale soon anyway - thanks tho m8 Nooo!!
  10. Brake pads are being fitted (if they arrive from Godspeed today!)
  11. Aye we called one Kwik Fit but no luck - as it happens it's getting new tires and pads done tomorrow at Kwik Fit as an SIDC member (Risin Son) works there so I'll ask him about fitting that too - altho I know they don't like to fit parts not bought from Kwik Fit themselves. I'll see if Leon can do a homer in his lunch break
  12. Cheers - Gus is a good call but he is thru in Falkirk and I'd be at Grieves by that point anyway Unless he is out and about! lol I'm amazed no factors have gaskets... Thanks for info Welsho. I wonder if it's worth just going to Hypertech and getting Duncan to put it on - he prob has gaskets in stock!
  13. Got my mechanic mate to pop round to help me fit the new exhaust then found out we don't have gaskets (the ones on mine look a bit rusty so we don't want to re-use them), called Livi Auto parts, Pentland Components and Dingbro and none of them have any for a Subaru WRX?? Main dealer only? Anyone local to me (Livingston) know where I could get some or even have some I could buy off them. It's never easy eh?!! btw - are the hangers the same for a newage STi as my WRX? The exhaust is an STi one.
  14. Love the reg plate
  15. Thanks for the cracking newage STi exhaust m8 - I'm pleased I could get mine sorted so easily thx to you - loving the 2 scoobs you have too The GB340 is lovely. And you are a lucky beggar having the RA too Much appreciated - will let you know how it sounds when I get it on tmrw! Looking forward to not having such a racket behind me too!! lol
  16. Risin Son is ordering me some F1s today so hopefully I can get them on in time for a potential trip to Cumbernauld....if it's raining M8 if not A89 to Airdrie (from Livi) then up to Cumbernauld - those roads should help me determine if it's feeling better
  17. pm me a price pls bobby...will that be pretty quiet or will I still have my burble? Aye I have Gus's PM about a back box but I am trying to get one cheaper as I have had to get the front bumper resprayed and buy 2 new back tyres after my little skidding/crashing incident
  18. I saw the ones RS Grant and Arch have...not looked on SN as I don't like how commercialised it's gone - ads everywhere and it's so slow too.
  19. Excellent news Now I just need to see who has one going cheap Also spoke to Steve Whitson a few mins ago and he said the same. Would I still have my burble even with a standard STI or ProDrive box then? SInce it's already mapped and de-catted? PM me if you have a backbox that would suit pls guys - I'll post in Wanted too
  20. I am looking for a new backbox as I want to remove the 5" exit and get something a bit smaller and possibly quieter but still have my burble! I have a full magnex system on it and both cats are deleted so that would contribute to the volume no doubt. I thought it was a 3" or 3.5" but a garage said to me it's 2.5" so can I just get a standard STI exhaust or maybe a Prodrive? Is 2/5" the standard bore? Also - if I only change the backbox will I need to remap or is that not a requirement? The car has an Ecutek and Andy F remap just now so don't want to upset it in any way. It's a newage WRX I have.
  21. oh, and thx for all the advice guys Remember Greg/Neil my offer of PC help still stands as you have both been kind enough to come to my house to look at the scoob in the past
  22. Sorry, I meant the trip to KF to get new F1s on the rear Leon does a great price. Aye, I'll bet the M3 goes sideways a lot I see SW has your old car now (the classic) be good to see what he does with it.
  23. Ok, I just didn't want to shell out for the F1s then find out it was not that and end up paying even more to fix a.n. other issue! I am selling the car soon but can't have it driving like this in case a test driver crashes it lol! Cheers for advice. Time for a visit to our friendly SIDC'er down at Kwik Fit in Broxburn Got a good deal from him for the F1s last time. Greg - you are welcome to have a spin and see what u think m8. I could even pop thru to you one day as I am in Broxburn so just a quick trip up the M9.
  24. Would Steve Whitson have spotted any of that when doing rear shocks - or would MOT have picked up on it? Could having the year-old Falkens on the rear and F1s (2 months old) on the front be a contributing factor or is it not likely?
  25. Not really pushed it but it does seem a lot better in the dry...but in the wet - 30mph on a roundabout and it will twitch and I just don't trust it! I don't lift off or anything - it's steady speed.
