  1. Was good fun....I counted 22 people with lots of Scoobs, our Elise friends......and a Honda in the middle of it all, not forgetting P1 Paul on his motorcycle Ditto you thought on the feds; would be much better if they got out the T5 and have a bit crack with the lads, rather than this stealthy approach of driving in and giving us the silent treatment?(shakes head) In saying all that maybe some do-gooder gave them a call about all the cars that were lined up?like we were going to go and do something daft Who knows, but one thing is for sure?.they didn?t see all the cars from just passing by
  2. Chris; I'm out of all the OB I had (apart from two boxes I have for Wuz...) We had 22 people show up at the monthly meet and demand was rather high. I suspect it won't be long till we get another little group buy on the go. Cheers for now
  3. Chris, I'll what we have left after tonights meet and take it from there. Cheers, Jools
  4. Got 19 bottles and 2 of the real good stuff for track days, etc. 40 quid cash for the 19? Will bring it all along tomorrow night; take it you are heading to the Abz meet?
  5. Chris, I have about two boxes worth spare. They are loose bottles as I used the boxes to send some of my Scooby parts away. Take dosh with you bud; +/- 40 quid and I'll sort you out. In fact I may have as many as 24 bottles and if you take them loose we can say 2 quid a bottle. I'll check and come back to you for sure on final number. Like I said before I make no money (and don't want to) from this. FAO everyone else; that's me all out of OB!
  6. Russs, More info required can't see anything? Be good to have a joint meet/run though We should do the same for a karting event as well sometime. We have a lot of friends (and members) from the Scottish Elise group that we see from time to time. All good fun and no one gets into the stigma of my car is better than yours
  7. I'll be out on track with my Prodrive Sti7
  8. CT Drop me a mail so I can reply with details of a cheap local trailer to hire as required. The fellow is a mate of mine and only hires to folks he knows or knows off if you follow. If we are stuck at the time I know where we can probably borrow another one. I have had the Westy on it up to Ricky Gaulds a few times and back.
  9. I'll take you both up on your offers guys. Thanks.
  10. Top tip; try to buy a cheap first generation RA on e-bay for +/- 100 quid and trade it into Black Spot and pay only 200 quid for the new generation RA...rather than the 400 quid
  11. With out a doubt get the new RA, comes with front and back laser protection; that way you are well sorted on the main routes. I'm on the second generation RA and also use a Valentine-2 detector, but with every force (as far as I know) in the place changing to laser technology the RA covers you very nicely indeed. When I had the first generation RA, it didn?t have laser protection at the time and not every where was using laser, hence having the V2 as well.
  12. Horses for courses?and what you say about Subaru fitting them as standard rubber is very correct; they are not that bad or unsafe for 80-90% of the people for 80-90% of the time. However if like many on here you like to use the car for safe fast road use, then the RE070 can be a handful when pushing on in the wet, as you say particularly with standing water around; compared to a Toyo or a GoodYear GSD3 for example. JohnS is giving a very detailed account for what is the best tyre application for the various seasons if you want to enjoy your car to the max during each season. And JohnS does know how to use his car Several people use different tyres. RobD and I run RE070?s on 17?s during the summer and GoodYear GSD3?s and Nokian WR Wintersport tyres on 18? rims for the rest of the year to get the very best form our Sti?s. (In fact, RobD runs his winter tyres in 17? size as well) On dry roads, the cornering speed of the RE070?s is quite staggering The GSD3 is a great comprise, excellent in the wet and damn good in the dry as well, but poor in snow as the tread pattern fills up and you merely sit and polish the snow beneath the tyre as Fiestas on 155 rubber drive on by Stick on proper winter rubber (ie; the Nokian WR) and the car will out accelerate and out brake the way most cars can perform on tarmac roads. Like the RE070?s in the dry, they are quite staggering with the levels of grip you can find. The Fins know how to make Winter tyres, that?s for sure and in 18?s they were only 104 quid a corner with the appropriate speed rating as well. Why not get the RE070 tyres and alloys and then dress your own wheels with either GSD3 or winter rubber at the back end of the year If I were going to have 2 out of the 3 mentioned above, I would go RE070 and the Nokian WR as the winter tyres are very good in the wet as well. (In fact, they are marketed as an all year tyre with snow and ice being their speciality) They hold their own in the dry, but with softer sidewalls and loads more tread blocks than the GSD3 they squirm a round and squeal for mercy when ploughing on; lets the car hang out nicely though
  13. Anyone know someone that would do a cash job on the above. Apparently, you can get them glass polished same as a windscreen. Looking at getting the standard Sti lights done to get them back to tip top condition.
  14. Can?t make this as the Scoob is away over the weekend mentioned Sounds like it will be fun
  15. Gauging interest for the above in the Aberdeenshire area, weather dependant of course. 2 options to consider folks; 1) We could head somewhere out remote-ish for a lunch stop and then back home toward Abz or 2) Out for a run without the lunch doing a suitable loop of county roads. I would prefer option 1 myself, so let?s gauge the interest and I?ll make plans as required from there. Also planning a Karting event soon in Abz also so perhaps you let me know who would be interested in that as well; perhaps even instead of option 1 and option 2 above. At least we would not have the weather to contend with, as it?s an indoor track. Lets call the Karting option 3 and we would need min 18 & max 24 drivers for a couple of hrs hard work. Please keep reply?s short and sweet. If there is interest, the finer detail will be sorted out there after
  16. Marc; I can manage that as I have 2 boxes that were for myself However, I have a box and a half left over from last time I bought so I'm ok for the time being
  17. Friday will be cool Wuz, 2 boxes of Millers OB....and a phillips screw driver for free At least I'll give it back to you for free and won't charge you storage for the last 6 weeks.....as long as you don't charge rent for me having it
  18. Yip...sure plan to be Grant; that will work fine if you wish. If anybody wants OB that I do not have for already at the above prices let me know I can get if for you and deliver to the monthly meet. I am making no money (and don?t wish to ) from this. All part for the service provided by SIDC Maybe I should charge non members a couple of quid more and send it to Phil
  19. Yip, I will be able to attend for the first time in several months; normally offshore I think MartinL will be home as well, so there will be a couple coming over from Inveruire/Meldrum way. Maybe Simbo as well. I just need to get the car home first!
  20. Had them on in the summer and found nothing untoward compared to others. JohnS is the resident expert.... he been running them for months.
  21. Like said above already, a job is a job to keep you going D...would not hesitate But it is dark in here: I need the swan-vesta as well
  22. OK as John says, I have the following products, which I picked up and paid for today. Martin 2 boxes OB Wuz 2 boxes OB Carl 2 boxes OB Grant 2 boxes OB IanJ 1 box OB and 5 ltrs gear oil
  23. I've been trying all morning, but this "ship to ship" aint working but I see Ian has done the biz
  24. Dougster, I thought you had dropped off the side of the planet bud. Sent you a PM on the 7th regarding prices, or at least I think I did It shows up in my sent box like this. See below..... Date Posted: Jan/07/2005 3:45 PM Dougster, Got a price today for you. For the CRX 75W/90 gear oil it is £33.79 per 5 ltrs. For the OB they want £20.60 per box. How does that compare? BTW Prices include the vat. Regards, Jools Let me know and we'll see what we can get sorted.
