  1. The tyres are almost as new condition, can't say for sure about the tread, but can check when I get home. They are in 225/45/17 size, standard Sti alloys and tyre size.
  2. Thanks for that Cal. Pink wheels here Ignore the daft comment from Talizman? The wheels were originally powder-coated to attract attention to our SIDC stand at a fairly big car show?and also to show the workmanship that PPS of Inveruire can do, with regard to powder-coating. The alloys were never regarded as a mod as such?I got the mods from the likes of PowerStation, RCM and Bob Rawle?and when your Scooby goes as well as my little buggy does; well you can have any colour of wheels on it you want
  3. Can't beat the Nokian's in the winter and they would be hard to beat in the wet as well They do flex...and can be fun when pushing on, but then they do start out with 8 mm tread on them. I have 4 x 225/40/18 with 6 mm tread on them in the garage here; that I might sell if anybody needs them. Don't plan on running the Scoob this winter. See here for info posted last year.
  4. Good to meet up with you today John, especially with me only calling you 5 mins before coming in by your work. Glad to see we have got Ken in the slot; right man for the job Note to Wuz; You like the Wombat machine?that?s my winter machine deluxe Rover 400 diesel, c/w tow bar, alloy wheels, sun roof and wooden effect trim. Never had a car run for so long on one tank of fuel ...ever.
  5. Thanks Bully; tried to get the links to work last night but the site was on go slow. Cheers
  6. Sounds like a plan and you obviously would have my full support Ken. I couldn?t think of a better person to fill the slot
  7. As above; tow bar assy with detachable swan neck ball for new age Sti/WRX. New cost 400 quid; sell for 200 quid. Aberdeenshire. See here http://www.subaru.co.uk/IMGGB/WWW/Subaru_A...8A?Opendocument and here http://www.subaru.co.uk/IMGGB/WWW/Subaru_A...AC?Opendocument
  8. 4x 17? new age Sti alloys with RE070?s in excellent condition. Note; alloys are powder-coated ?Sti? pink. As most will know these are the ideal track & summer tyres. Selling as I can't get em over the 355 mm AP's 250 quid the lot: no haggling and no BS either please Alloys are from my 02 Sti and I'm Aberdeenshire.
  9. Recently I have been aware that I have not been able to give much time to the RO slot for Aberdeenshire & the Highlands For several reasons, none of which I want to go into right now, I intend giving up the RO post. However in saying that I guess it is fair to say the main reason for this is that it suddenly came to me a few weeks ago that there could well be several people out there who could/would give more to this slot than I have been able to provide of late. Although the car has been off the road for some annual TLC these last several weeks, the one thing I won?t be doing is disappearing from the Scooby scene. The TLC process will continue over the winter and I don?t really intend using it much until the spring anyway So I open the forum for some volunteers to come forward to JohnS.
  10. We are meeting at the Bridge of Don exhibition centre car park at 10.15 Friday Morning and will leave at 10.30 sharp towards Ellon. Please will aware we will be having a slow drive/ride by, as we pass the accident scene on our way North. We have considered stopping, but feel that would create more exposure and risk to all road users, and to all of us concerned, than we need at such a time. Many thanks and see you there.
  11. There will be a few of us meeting up on Friday morning to head to Ellon. Quite a selection of bikes and cars will be out to say farewell.
  12. All, On behalf of Kate, please note that Paul?s funeral will take place at 11.30 this Friday morning at Ellon Parish Church and thereafter to Ellon Grave Yard. Kate has requested that we have as many members of the Scooby clan, the Scottish Elise Clan and the Biker clan present to give Paul a send off that would make him proud. I know already that we have some SIDC members who are planning to travel hundreds of miles to pay their respects to our friend, and also to show support to Kate, his wife of only 10 months. She will need this support and I call on you to do what ever you can to be there. Whether you knew Paul for 5 minutes or 5 years?.or had only heard about the legend he was; you are very welcome to attend his funeral. Please e-mail me at Jools@JASF.co.uk if you intend coming and I will keep all informed. We plan to meet at 10.30 at the Bridge on Don, probably at the exhibition centre car park, and then make our way to Ellon as a group. Regards for now. Edited to make ur e-mail address clicky
  13. Message posted on behalf of Little Miss WRX. There are two significant events that I remember with Paul.........I went on the Tut Towers 2001 and flew ahead with Paul and his P1, myself, Ian Cook as pax and my little 94 in hot pursuit. He promised me a drive of his P1 and duly held his promise. The other was my accident up past Glasgow, I can't remember exactly, but apparently the road sign is still bent........I was still concussed and shocked from the accident, he drove me all the way down to Staffordshire, he didn't want any money, he just wanted to make sure I got home safely. There are plenty of other times when I came up to Scotland that I remember and to hear of this tragic accident is indeed saddening as the motoring world, his wife, family and friends have lost a truely outstanding gentleman. Please pass on my thoughts to Kate and his family. I am still in disbelief. Michelle.
  14. Message posted on behalf of Scott Cruickshank, one of our many Elise friends. Not a lot I can say, that has not been said. Like most people I remember the first time I met Paul. We did a run with yourself (Jools), Paul, Tut and a couple of others. I think that half the paint was blasted off of my Elise following the Scooby's that day. I remember following Paul on the back road from Grantown through the golf course and along the river. A never to be forgotten experience. Great guy will be sadly missed by many My thoughts are with his wife, family and friends. Scott
  15. Carl, Thanks for that post and picture. Goes to show the trust I had in Paul. Riding shot gun with Paul and I that day were my two sons. Finlay (7 at the time) is in with me and Sinclair (9 at the time) is in the Mad P1 with Paul. I was talking to young Keith tonight about that very track event and how we went out and had fun that day. Brings back happy memories. Also reminiscing tonight about the runs we did up the west coast of Scotland all the way to John O Groats and back. Some more info here; Tonights paper
  16. Took Kate into the Police Station where we formally identified Paul. Paul is at rest, but it seems all so so unreal. As John says above Paul was riding past the junction when a Campervan pulled across his path. Info from accident scene is that he wasn?t going hard, but didn?t have time to react to the situation. He had actually past a police car a few miles prior to the accident and they report that his riding was what they regard as normal. Visibility at the junction is good and there are no marks on the road. Conditions at the time were dry, with good light and little wind. Lots of bits and pieces from his repsol coloured 6 month old Fireblade on the verge when you look hard, apart from that nothing at all. Cause of death has to be established by the Police and then Kate can move forward and make plans for funeral arrangements which we expect to be well into next week now. I took some photos back to the Police Station on Kate?s behalf and the press statement will be released this afternoon by Grampian Police. I have passed on info on the messages of support from Tut, Simon, John, Ken, Toby, KeithP, BKS to mention but a few. Kate is grateful for the support so far and coming to terms with the last 20hrs of her life. It is actually her birthday today
  17. Message from Kate All, There are many of us on here who knew Paul very well, and it with much sadness that I have to let you know that he died last night after being involved in a RTA. It?s been a long hard night for Kate stuck offshore on the 706, but she will be home soon. Paul lived life to the full and moved from fast Subarus, in particular his spectacular ?Mad P1? (as I always called it) to fast bikes. Details are sketchy at this time (and I feel pretty much irrelevant) but the initial info we have is that a vehicle crossed his path, resulting in an instant fatality. Kate is getting into Aberdeen this morning, where I will be meeting her and taking her the Police station at Queen Street thereafter. More details when I get them. Still can?t believe it.... Jools, Arlene & the boys.

  20. Need a N/A box for me TBH; when the red light comes on add 100 ml of NF, fill the tank with O/max and hand over card. +/- 140 miles later....ditto the above soon turns to when you get back on the open roads.
  21. Thanks for the info and for sure the info from the AP site is confusing The fellow that fitted them has done many kits now through RCM, and I am sure they are correct. Still waiting for final conformation of that to come through. Will share the info when I get it
