  1. My Brother has a scoob (legacy) that he was going to drive to the scrap yard. MOT runs out before Monday; free to anyone that wants it. Try calling Derek Stewart Abz 743565. Good friend of mine and deals in older motors at the couple of grand mark; he may have something real old?or know a man that does
  2. Also Brian Downie at Kenmay for quality work, but he is always busy. Like Carl says Liam will also do a great job. Both these guys are as honest and hard working as the day is long, so no worries there. Tell Brian you were advised to come to him; that will help.
  3. What you are saying is right Cal, expect the first stainless steel (SS) mid section right after the DP (working in gas flow direction) has a small silencer box in it and that replaces the standard fitment exhaust part that comes with a cat in it. The PPP exhaust kit is a SS hi flow cat DP, SS first mid section and the SS backbox. You keep the second ?mild steel? mid section, which is the ?resonator? section. It doesn?t touch the up pipe, which on an Sti is a straight through pipe.
  4. Cal, The cat is on the down pipe on the PPP kit. The first mid section has a small box and you use the standard second mid section (resonator box) as fitted when the car was new, with a Prodrive back box. In short you get 3 of the 4 sections when you fit PPP. Sure am getting to the stage of selling bits and pieces; taking up room for the last 3 years now.
  5. Was not able to get along tonight; would help if the car was fit for purpose Maybe next time....
  6. Make sure the headers have 3 bolt flanges and not the early two bolt flange; they were prone to gasket failure regardless of OEM . RCM sell headers that are well proven on big horse power cars; that to me is worth the wee bit of extra dosh you may have to spend, compared to fitting less capable headers and then having to service/repair blown and leaking gaskets?
  7. Early PPP car used a gems daughter board that sat right over the ECU mother board and was spiced into it, fooling the car into providing more boost. Was regarded by some as a crude way , but nevertheless a very effective way of getting more power. These were fitted on early 02 cars only. Prodrive then went the EcuTech route with the very late 02 PPP kits and from 03 onwards that all you get.
  8. Peter, I don?t know; never had it on the rollers and not bothered with figures to be honest. It won?t be making crazy big figures, it all about the package and how the things drives and delivers power/torque. With the lightweight fly wheel and front end pulleys the car has no engine braking; it spools up like a Jap motor bike and rugs like a train. Very drivable car with good handling to match and with the Bob Rawle re-map it is very smooth right across the revs from 2500 onwards. I have mine stripped of all excess equipment, noise insulation, spare wheel, jack, boot lining, under engine/gearbox tray covers, bonnet lining, etc. As quick as you need on the B roads I would think?..it makes for lively driving and I have not had anything embarrass me so far. It fair to say it walks away from guys I know with a standard PPP car and a 330 evo...like they have a parachute tied behind them so I?m happy with the results so far
  9. As above e-mail me at jools@JASF.co.uk for details
  10. As above; Sti 7 headlights Tow bar with detachable swan neck assy Sti pink track alloys with RE 070's Subaru 4 pots for classic or new age Complete PPP kit (early one with Gems daughter board) E-mail me at jools@JASF.co.uk
  11. Gordy; Looks you are going to spend serious money and if you are it is perhaps best to go with proven car tuners and allow them (to a certain degree) to advise you on what kit to go for, rather than you decide and take a mix/match of bits and pieces along thereafter to someone like Andy F or RCM. I went to RCM simply because I wanted a proven system, with bags of reliability and you don?t have to read too many Jap mags to see what they can do. Further to that RCM have done a lot of work on another Sti 7 from Aberdeenshire and I was impressed with what they and Bob Rawle can do. RCM produce big horse power cars on a weekly business and you can't help but be impressed with their staff and their premises. In saying that I didn?t know of AndyF, only heard his name so to speak at that time. If I were to do it all again I would no doubt go to him as logistically it would make so much more sense that heading to Desford way towards the bottom end of England. Horses for course, but do the ground work and don?t rush in. Take time, to save time in the long run when it comes to serious engine modifications; and get the job done right, first time around. I did and am delighted with the results...so far
  12. Had the 1144's and pulled them off the car after a few hundread miles, binned them 1155's are better...but only just; but the DS2500's are the way to go That's why you get them as standard with 355mm/6 pot big brake kits from AP racing
  13. Best ?bang for your buck? you will ever spend on a new age Sti is fit the Whiteline rear anti roll bar with solid drop links, together with the anti dive kit at the front end. You can get the parts from PowerStation and the likes of Falkland can fit the parts and set the car up. Transforms the handling...all for a few hundred pounds
  14. Same here. Headers and up pipe were done by RCM and it took an age for all the heat wrap to stop smoking and smelling bad
  15. Roger Clark Motorsport have just done with RR figures of just over 480 BHP
  16. I have a set of "Sti Pink" 17" Sti Alloys with RE070's on them that are soon to be for sale. Done a couple of track days and few sprints and few shows.... Nobody will steel these from the paddock....if you follow the thought process See here for pictures; http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=353856
  17. I?d like to second everything John has mentioned above?.and also thank John himself for all his hard work and dedication to the SIDC?without whom days like today simply wouldn?t happen. Well done John Stewart and on behalf of so many of us?.many thanks indeed Top marks must go to PC Gary Donald for his time and open feedback to road safety matters and for taking the Town & County sponsored WRX Impreza out on track. The car is provided by Town & County and is very much used to engage the public and break down some age old barriers between the younger generation of car drivers and the Police Force themselves. Talking to Gary was very informative and it?s very concerning to hear first hand the direction road deaths stats are going on our roads, especially amongst younger drivers (both male and female) in the 17 to 25 year old age bracket. Some great competition on track with some smashing cars out there. RobD flying the Subaru flag for the SIDC with fasted Scooby of the day with Lowell in the Honda S2000 race car taking fasted time of the day I believe. Great to meet Hi Soob and many others for the first time. Gutted that 616 ARL was not there to play, but here?s to the next time when I will have her back on the road with new brakes fitted at last. PS; the boys told mum we had her RR sport out on track at the end of the day?and she doesn?t believe them! She really should know better
  18. Hey Marc, Yip wishing I had not gone that way to Stonehaven 45 mins just to cross ABZ on a Sunday pm . Car sounded great as you guys headed towards the egg and dart roundabout; that was the highlight of the day. What you doing ridding shotgun then Regards
  19. Thanks PJ, but need them sooner than that for a friend of mine. When I think of all the discs I have binned over the years always good to keep an old set I guess....
  20. As above; anything will do?need to remove big brakes from a MY00 prior to trading it. Thanks in anticipation...
