  1. Just arrived back offshore John, and besides the car is far too clean to take out in bad weather. Tucked up at home, c/w nice cover Hope my dear wife doesn?t need to change the bedding on the guest bed when I'm away...
  2. I have used Dent Devils in Aberdeenshire and they do a great job. Been a few years since I had to mind you; Kids seem to have mastered the art of riding bikes without bouncing off the car. (I hope) Ask big local dealers who they use, as this is where these guys make their bread and butter money. It was Sandy Thain Car Sales that give me the fellows details a few years back.
  3. Devlin, Most impressed; you sure know what a box of Millar?s (or two) look like from a distance Mark did a great job of all the cars and worked for his money on the Sunday. It was gone 11 at night when he left my place. His work is actually great quality and even better value. I was left cleaning products that would cost me over 45 quid alone if I were to buy similar quantities of Auto Glym; shampoo, water based general cleaner, etc. Full marks to him. Carl; thanks for posting the piccies. Your engine bay tells the whole story better than any words I can use!
  4. Your busy bud, will try again soon Offshore DK right now; might get in tomorrow for weekend as the weather has turned to $hit so window for rig move has evaporated and not looking good for next 5 days or so. Priced up a L&B fly wheel, clutch assy and lightened crank shaft pulley for front end of engine yesterday seems like I have to fork out 1 to 1.5 K to get the job done right Then we will need more power to justify the expense....if you follow my logic
  5. Will do Marc
  6. What about your clutch ....I'll have it
  7. Yip, here I am back offshore for a few days. Sorry Murray; the trailer mentioned is out on hire on Sunday I?m afraid. BTW; it is 25 quid. Might be worth a call to Young Keith and see if he would rent his one out for this Sunday. Saw your son in law at Abz Airport this morning recognised him by the bruise on his left elbow
  8. Mucho apologies Grumbler now added to group 2 with the classics. OK folks some news regarding group orders for the day. Please note that this event will be a first for Wallace Performance and myself (as having organised it) so be gentle with us. Looked at the requests I have had and tried to accommodate people best I can. We hope to manage 4 cars per hr and Gavin Wallace does want to spent time with the drivers explaining the RR system to them in detail, so I have gone for groups so that several drivers can attend at once, rather than as individuals. The order in the groups listed below in not necessarily the running order, but please show up in good time for your group start time. Group 1; 10 am to 12 am · Tim W, Elise · Numptie; WestyBlade · CT; Tiger Supercat · Jockey; Fiat coupe turbo 20vt · Catherine Ross; surprise entry · Andrew Whitelaw, Astra Coupe Turbo · Mike Abz, 2000 Accord Type R · Craig; Clio V6 · Iain Cameron; Seat Leon Group 2; 12 am to 2 pm · Ken Ross; Sti 2 555 Limited Edition · Ewan; turbo wagon MY94 · Rossyboy; 93 WRX · Simbo; 93 wrx · Wooosh; P1 · Power Junkie; Sti V5 Type R · Carl Davey; ?white magic? turbo 4 door MY98 · ShaunG; turbo 4 door MY00 · Grumbler Sti 2 Group 3; 2 pm to 4 pm · Jools; Sti7 MY02 · BKS 6; Sti7 MY02 · Numptie; Sti7 MY02 · CT; Sti7 MY02 · JohnS, Sti7 MY02 · Young KeithP, Sti8 MY03 · Boyakasha, Sti8 MY03 · Callum Wood, Evo VII Remember the prices; £25 for SIDC members and £30 for non SIDC members.
  9. Same thoughts as Skunk; sounds like the MAF sensor and it's gone into "limp home mode" to protect the engine.
  10. Marc, Will ask Fred and Shona for sure. Yours could be there waiting to be fitted, but don?t quote me on that, as there are heaps of these things getting changed out. I know that when I was getting the car serviced last Friday they said they could change mine there and then if I waited, but that is where the strut tops come in. They are my own; as I sheared a bolt on the top of the LH side one when I fitted the rear strut brace long time ago. Had them for a year now and always meant to have them changed out some time, but now that the shocks need changing, never being a better time to have it done. Very pleased with the service you get down there, well worth the miles. I?ll be taking the neighbours car down there soon to get it serviced for him one of these days when he is at work and the fellow that owns the local pup just bought his Forrester from them a few months back after hearing all the good reports.
  11. All, we will gather the funds at the weekend. Cash please, so I can re coup my rather large deposit A re cap of the way things stand; please re confirm attendance for final figures. Remember we need to be there for 15.00 hrs, practice starts just after 15.30 hrs for 15 min and we have to be booted and spurred for that not forgetting the pre race pep talk That?s the point you realise the karts are worth more than the rolling thunder that is now parked up outside Know what I mean.... Don?t forget you can bring your own helmet if you have one. Saw a few of the lads on Sunday and seems everyone is up for some motor sport fun. 1. Jools 2. JohnS 3. PaulM 4. Bryan Philip 5. YoungKP 6. 12. Thanks so far people. Marc; look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Robin; great shot, but an ROV spread set up that close to the heli deck....with the jib up in the air can't be the North Sea is it?
  13. Can anyone help guide a friend of mine. Young lad with BSc (Hons) in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Wants to get a start with ROV Company in ABZ. Lives south of the City.
  14. Not really Marc as they probably won?t check the geometry if they are changing like for like as long as they don?t alter the adjustments already on the car. The ARB and drop links take 30 mins to do with a jack under the rear diff. The hard work is at the other end with the anti lift/anti dive kit. BTW; I?m in for new rear shocks/strut tops tomorrow at Fiskens.
  15. CT; £70 I can get you a car trailer for 20/25 quid for the weekend. Will call my mate today; lives over by Loch Skene out the back of Westhill on the Abz to Alford road. A few folk use his trailer for the very same reason, so sometimes it is booked out in advance.

Note; PaulM and the mad P1 will not be with us on the Sunday, but we will have Whoosh on the ?other? mad P1 instead Group 1; 10 am to 12 am · Tim W, Elise · Numptie; WestyBlade · CT; Tiger Supercat · Jockey; Fiat coupe turbo 20vt · Catherine Ross; surprise entry · Andrew Whitelaw, Astra Coupe Turbo · Mike Abz, 2000 Accord Type R · Craig; Clio V6 · Iain Cameron; Seat Leon Group 2; 12 am to 2 pm · Ken Ross; Sti 2 555 Limited Edition · Ewan; turbo wagon MY94 · Rossyboy; 93 WRX · Simbo; 93 wrx · Wooosh; P1 · Power Junkie; Sti V5 Type R · Carl Davey; ?white magic? turbo 4 door MY98 · ShaunG; turbo 4 door MY00 Group 3; 2 pm to 4 pm · Jools; Sti7 MY02 · BKS 6; Sti7 MY02 · Numptie; Sti7 MY02 · CT; Sti7 MY02 · JohnS, Sti7 MY02 · Young KeithP, Sti8 MY03 · Boyakasha, Sti8 MY03 · Callum Wood, Evo VII Remember the prices; £25 for SIDC members and £30 for non SIDC members. 17. Cal; canna wait to see it... BTW; no need to ask me; you will always have my approval
  18. Marc A paste & copy regarding the handling/braking set up; "Prodrive 18" ?bright flitter? alloys with Goodyear F1 GSD3?s for wet weather use, Sti ?pink? 17? alloys with Bridgestone Potenza RE070?s for dry weather use, and 18" Nokion WR snow tyres for winter weather use, Prodrive lowering & progressive rate spring kit, Sti front & rear alloy strut braces, Whiteline anti roll bar, Whiteline solid drop links, Whiteline anti lift kit, Powerstation Geometry set up, Goodridge brake hose's front & rear, Ferodo DS-2500 pads front & rear, DBA front grooved and drilled discs." Do not overlook the actual geometry set up; very important once you get the right bits in place. Whoosh; They are little trophies for 2nd and 3rd overall on the track for the day.
  19. Zeolite, Got you. Your right the Pug is light, excuse my ignorance; I was getting mixed up with car weights, thinking my Westy is 700 kg, but it is Tut?s Elise that comes in at the 700 kg mark. The Westy is just under the 500 kg mark, 475 kg in fact with a well prepped 1.7 ltr cross flow so it would be a better weapon of choice for the dry track perhaps. BTW; the Westy has the special yokos you mention. I did have 17? RE070?s on the Sti today but was within ½ a second of them with the road going alloys I use which are 18? F1, GSD3?s pumped up to 40 psi. Thought the difference would have been bigger but could not get the heat into the RE070?s with only 3 laps at a time. They certainly felt much better on the track....and on the way home even with lugging 4 x 18? alloys, tools and a 3t trolley jack. All this and I was still made light work of a supped up Supra and a B4 legacy, thought they were stuck in traffic as I came across them. Then I received a text from the B4 saying "OK Jools show us what u got!" Well talk about lighting the blue touch paper...See ya! ....they must have stopped to pick brambles or something...cause after a few miles of good open roads I couldna see them coming no more PS: See you on Sunday Gav, hopefully you will have made it home by then
  20. Falkland Performance in Glenrothes know what they are doing for sure when it comes to setting the car up.
  21. Aye Rob you are right buddy; next time I say we take the Westy but we had fun and that's what counts. The wee pug just does not slow down for the corners and Dave is very smooth. 800 kg = more than just seats but hey he did good. Don't know what it is with P1's and Alford. Woosh was as close to the barrier as Paul was some time back, just going the other direction. Must say though; some good car control in the midst of pirouetting down the track. From what I saw a lesser driver would have froze and bounced all the way down the armco. Mike; sorry I did not get the chance to ay hello; figured it was you in the red Type R, but you guys were away before I got a chance to catch up with you. Too busy playing?
  22. Dastek Performance Day / French Car Show at Alford 19th Sept; results Good turn out of all kinds of cars with lots of fun on the sprint tack. 3 laps in total; 1 oval, I figure of 8 and finishing with 1 oval. Scottishscoobies take fasted road going cars by a country mile; it was a ?bluewash? out there today Track results taken with stop watch by start Marshal 1. 1.06:44; Pug 205; 16v, 1.9 ltr 800 kg race car. Dave from Alford 2. 1.07:06; Impreza Sti7. Jools (JAC) 3. 1.08:59; Impreza P1. Kev (Whoosh and watch that barrier) 4. 1.09:13; Impreza Sti8. Mark (Boyakasha) 5. 1.10:03; Impreza 22B. Steve Kev; I picked up your third place award for you. Scoobies got a good round of applause from the crowd during the presentation for fastest road cars and for entertainment value too That bit would be you
  23. Saw Gavin yesterday and we are in good shape for next weekend. Have not done too much concerning running order, but will work on that this week and do our best to make it work for everyone. The RR can be adjusted quicker than most I have seen, so no hassle there. Couple of things to note; those with mud flaps best take some tape along to have them taped up so that they don?t foul on the RR as we take the car off after the runs and also anyone with deep front splitters might have a problem. All cars that are standard, so to speak, will be fine; it?s one that have the aftermarket body kits that might have a problem.
