  1. Rossyboy Bridge of Don. Just back along the road from B&Q on the opposite side just before the Chinese food place. Well sign posted with ?Wallace Performance?. Don?t know the street names but someone will. Used to be Hillview Motorcycles.
  2. Tim, Good stuff. Looking for an even number of between 18 & 24 drivers. Going for option 1 as I had to get it booked up yesterday.
  3. Brian, Stick with us and we'll make you a star your name will be in bright lights.... at least if your sitting at a busy junction in the dark It looks damn good, I must say. All it needed was a proper user name to set the tone and was pretty sure you would not mind....
  4. Where?s the Dougster & co I had me rear passenger door and side skirt painted after my young son damaged the car at home when I was offshore last trip. Dropped some things that were stood up against sone shelving in the garage and scrapped the paint right to the ?bone?. £260 cash for a proper job. Could have got it for £100 cheaper, but the fellow is regarded as one of the best around Aberdeen area. Now he would need £650 to paint the entire front of my mates Sti7, bonnet and down over the front wings, etc. I did get my front end painted last year, as described, for £350, which I thought was great at the time, but would not go the cheap option again. You can tell the front end has been painted, but you can?t tell the door and side skit have, if you follow me. Both prices were cash. Other thing you need is contacts to get someone that will do the job right and give a hoot about it. Don?t get me too wrong here, the cheap paint job I got done on the front of the car would suffice for +/- 95% of the punters out there on the road, but I want it perfect. Other thing to note is a right paint job takes several months to harden, especially on the front of the cars. When I get mine done I would work it so it see little use for the first 9 weeks, OK, if you work away from home like I do, not so much so if you use the car every day, etc. But avoid hard road use while following other like minded folks if you get it painted for as long as poss.
  5. Welcome to our home
  6. Derek, well copied. I was meaning the ScottishScoobies bit when I talked about web address....as it does look as bits I?ll be having a couple of sets for inside the window please when we go to print Well done Carl
  7. Shocking idea, bit high to throw a tyre too
  8. Carl, U are the man?some terrific work Looks great; that on a clear background would look terrific, well at least I think so (I know you are using the black to make it clear for demonstration purposes) Now what does everyone else think . Where?s Phil & co
  9. Ahhh I got called away while writing the reply Perfect from Caz, A picture tells thousand words or something like that. Imagine the stickers Caz has with the WWW bit along the bottom, wouldn?t that work, all made up together. Then it could become a template for other groups within the club to use with their logo instead of a flag.
  10. Carl, Don?t mean to be pedantic, but what about the WWW bit. Makes it real obvious that it is a web site, and that the cars that have them are part of a club, so to speak. Also what about putting a name in?like WRXMAINA to give it a better feel. Brian will be proud Don?t know your sizes, but we made this type of thing up for the run to Yorkshire in 03 and having the flag discrete is often best. What I mean by that is getting the balance right is going to be the important bit. We are Scottish, and damn proud of it. Everywhere I have travelled within this small word both with work and play I have taken and worn my Kilt, Rugby shirt and often my stomping boots too. What I am trying to say I guess is that for this application first of all we are part of the SIDC, a UK based car club, then we are the Scottish group within the UK club, not some break away affiliation. Hope this come across as intended. I for one don?t want to arrive somewhere with our cars, you know almost with our Bravehart face paint on, leaving everyone to conclude ?here comes the bloody Jock?s?. I sensed this feeling across the road, which as we all know was certainly not the case; we are just geographically smaller and can run a Scottish forum with no hassles at all with all the different aspects within that forum and not having things moved everywhere else. Moral of my story is I would like to see SIDC being the main feature along with the web address, then the user name and a smart St Andrews flag showing our Scottish origins.
  11. Marc, Oh yes he knows! I guess who ever answers the phone for him best pass on the dates which I gave them when I called. He knew the dates were to follow for the last two weeks in Sept, but I will call him later to firm things up a little more if you follow No worries there. He will be avalible...
  12. Thanks Tim, have not seen young Tut for a wee while now. Like you, a bit with him having a bad back and not driving a Kart. I would half expect to see N1TUT in the middle of things...literally

  20. John, Excellent news. I had hoped you would ?cross post? the plans with our friends and maybe e-mail the tour de-cosse group for me, having forgot to mention this to you yesterday. I have told Arlene you might be coming in buy for the geri-cans for KH. Do you have contact details for Tut, and if so direct him here. I tried through SN, but to no avail. With the local gang, and the above info, I would say we are at +/-12 drivers already. Will post more details with names later on. Need to get names and money moving fast, as they want several hundred quid deposit to book; right now I have a provisional booking for 48 hrs. Cheers
  21. LOL at TheSquirrel555 Sure helps for that...
  22. Phew?Things on here move fast! Here?s hoping I?m onshore for that one Derek. Catch you tomorrow, need a lie down myself now
  23. SandyCam Good to see you aboard as we say offshore. You seen a lassie by the name of Debbie MacKay in Thurso of late. Knows your car, knows of your Brother/s and knows of your Dad too by all accounts. She likes your car, but then I showed her a picture of mine Like she could tell the difference She works out here offshore Denmark too.
  24. First of all get a cup of tea....Just read this myself.... I have been a part of the SIDC for a while, but of late very much in the background I guess. We had, and still do, have a very healthy group of Scooby drivers in the Aberdeenshire area and my wife and I have made some tremendous and lasting friendships with a lot of people met through the club. The SIDC committee do a great job and I know folks like Willie, Cam, and hell JohnS is almost my neighbour in Aberdeenshire nowadays?.since he is no longer a city dweller Point is the club is, and will be what we want it to be, and much more importantly, what ?we? make it. I fully support your thread and thought process here Bladerider, not to have a pop as SN in any way (they have done OK for us enthusiasts), but for us to see the SIDC grow and fill in the obvious gap that has developed; regardless of whatever the reasons for that may be Anyhow, on a personal note, after a difficult 12/18 months of where I was starting to extend my previous house, then selling up and moving at the last minute, and then settling the family into the new house I now want to offer my services and get back to helping the club and others where I can. My old house used to be like the local Scooby community centre, where kids would come past at the weekends to see how many Scoob?s they could see and count. We were always out and about on runs, with the local Smarties (led by the legend that is Tut) having fun at every opportunity I am one of the many in the NE who do have to work offshore (where I am now) on a regular 3&3 schedule. My dear wife has just gone back to work after 11 years so I have now have time on my hands while at home and will make time when I am away to be online when ever I can. As such I will offer my services to the SIDC as Regional Organiser for the Highlands & Islands and Aberdeenshire, supporting the tireless work done by JohnS (and others), both locally and nationally wherever I can. What I would like to suggest, and ask of everyone here (if I may), is that we are friendly, respectful and treat all others the way we would like to be treated ourselves. BBS forums and e-mail are a very very difficult tool to use while communicating to others. Why? Because it is so damn impersonal with no direct feedback and even worse, no tone to detect and gauge the information you are sending or receiving. We must all remember that when you are face to face with someone only 5% of the communication you have with them is what is spoken, the other 95% is made up of everything else i.e.; tone, reaction, facial expression, body language, to name but a few. As I say, not the case on here! A quick example of where this can be difficult amongst even our own gang, so to speak, and cause problems if you let it was a recent post on SN where one of my friends posted pictures of the Aberdeen meet we had all been at, and where my Sti was pictured with some really off the wall coloured wheels on it. In fact there were Sti pink daft I know, but what the hell, it was all for a laugh...and Numptie thought they were so hey, they must have been OK. However note, I did have two objectives in mind. Most of the posts with comments on this subject were positive and making fun of what I ?and we? had done to gather as much attention to our SIDC club stand as possible, in what we knew would be some pretty stiff competition (which it was I may add) and also to draw attention to the excellent Powder Coating services provided by our local friend and all round good Scooby guy called Young Keith Paterson of PPS Powder Coating, Inveruire. Where the two aforementioned objectives met Absolutely yes Did I take the daft track wheels off the car as soon as I got home Absolutely yes No harm done I hear you say?but then all of a sudden what's this I am an idiot who should have my car taken off me, and further more, I should not be allowed near cars ever again. All this and I am the one having dedicated ?mucho money to the ?silly? pink track wheels and mucho mucho family time? to setting up for the show in the first place, not forgetting hauling wet and winter weather tyres/alloys, a ladder, ramps, jack and a large plasma screen along for the day to show some footage of SIDC track days ay Knockhill to the crowds. So to conclude my long story and make the ending short peeps?IMHO; Lets make this work and I am willing to help where I can as a Club Regional Organiser (if required), lets show gratuity to the club by joining up, give respect to the Committee (and their decisions when applicable) and most of all give heaps of respect to each other...on here on the track and on the road Jools Coghill Subaru Impreza Drivers Club member.
  25. LOL Well I wish it was both the first two Brian, but I?m afraid not I guess I do have an understanding wife and yes I am skint and not allowed to spend any more money on the car ....but if I could just sell one or bits (tapping fingers on desk) I might be able to get that 3? DP and 3? system, an induction kit...and a wee re map to go with it! Soon be Christmas, best start writting to the old fellow up North
