  1. Long story short, I am looking to set up a race afternoon as part of a stag party type event for one of the Scooby boys who is getting married later in the year (PaulM-the mad P1) and the depending on interest I have the following info and am looking for feedback on who would be interested in the following. Boys and Girls welcome for the racing. Venue would be Kart Start, based in Dyce, Aberdeen on Sat the 25th Sept. I am looking at two options. Option #1 Mini Endurance race, with 2 peeps per team, starting at 15:30 hrs. 15 mins practice with a 1-½ hr race to follow c/w pit stops and refuelling (by the staff I my add). Min of 18 to Max of 24 drivers @ £40 each. Option #2 Full Endurance race, with 4 peeps per team, starting at 15:00 hrs. 30 mins practice with a 2-hr race to follow c/w pit stops and refuelling. Min of 30 drivers @ £40 each. Additional info; The longer track is 420 meters long and the shorter one is 390 meters long, but it is 1 meter wider to assist with overtaking for less experienced drivers I am told. We would be using the longer more difficult track and the Karts are fitted with 200cc Honda Engine which do up to 50 mph at full tilt?depending how may KG they are hauling around I have done several karting events here and it is great fun and a smashing afternoon out with like minded folks. After the fun on the track I am looking at arranging Chinese food at a local place just along the road, which does serve beer, and then perhaps having a few beers later on to conclude the stag night. Please note that this is intentionally set up the day before the SIDC Rolling road day at Wallace Performance on Sun the 26th Sept, so we can have a weekend of fun, and this will allow those who might be driving a distance to stay over locally and capture both events, rather than having them weekends apart. As soon as we have enough interest I would be looking for the full payment forthwith
  2. Negative Bri, quite the opposite Just having a clear out and want to help sponsor the next round of mods I run the car with a Sti titanium back box (same as S202) and straight through mid sections from the Prodrive sports cat DP. Never had the ?for sale ?exhaust system on the car for more than two days. PS; I told my wife when I bought the car 2 1/2 years it was ?complete? and wouldn?t need modded like I did to my MY99 wagon Not bad so far? Please note; I won't be at Knockhill on the 11th, but could ask one of the Abz lads to bring it there if someone is looking to buy same.

They do one with a spring-loaded 3-section wooden ladder that fits between trusses with 600mm centres. Open the hatch and the whole thing unfolds with no hassle. (Hope they still do them.) Easy to fit as well.

Sarahbee; Sorry that the dates don?t work out too good for you this time but as you say, I?m sure we will be doing this again. Wuz; leave the car with us and we?ll run it for you
  6. Top idea. I would be interested in both and in whatever colour would suit a blue Prodrive Sti MY02. Once you get print sorted are you considering approaching a number plate manufacturer, or are we talking about a sticker that would go on the outside of the number plate. Ditto the comments about everyone joining the SIDC, if you haven? already
  7. Ditto what Gordon is saying here. I traced the Prodrive 18? wheels in Bright Flitter and Gold all the way back to Italy where they are made to try and get a paint code after getting no joy with IM and Prodrive. Ended up at the local paint shop and matched the paint. Bad deal really how hard would it be for IM or Prodrive to produce the right touch paint for us
  8. Great stuff people? There will be a few of the local Inverurie gang coming along to SIDC tomorrow Gee WR1; you coming through to Aberdeen for the rolling road day on the 26th Sept. Be good to see your there?..and see that nice motor on the rollers Jools
  9. Ok people I have some more concrete details on a few fronts to share with you. First of all costs; SIDC members will be £25 per car for two power runs. Non SIDC members will be £30 per car, again for two power runs. Note; All monies to be paid direct to Wallace Performance on the day. Please also note; the normal price for an individual rolling road session will be £45 (two power runs), so we are securing some very competitive prices indeed Secondly, the order listed below is not necessarily the order the cars will run. Closer to the actual date we will put a running order together with approximate times. This list will be made up purely by the different types of cars we will have running on the day, in order to keep changes to the actual rolling road set up minimal. Thirdly, all participants will be treated the same, as per our SIDC track days. SIDC member will not take priority over non-members, regarding running orders, etc. However please note if people are only available during the Morning or Afternoon due to work commitments we will do our very best to accommodate requests Fourthly, the actual day will be Sunday 26th Sept, with a start time of about 10.30, to be confirmed with Gavin Wallace. Looking forward to seeing you all at our first SIDC rolling road day in Aberdeen List so far Jools, Prodrive Sti MY02 Young KeithP Sti MY03 BKS 6 Prodrive Sti MY02 PaulM "the mad P1" MY00 Ken Ross Sti 2 555 Limited Edition Mike Abz * Carl Davey ?the white hot fridge? turbo 4 door MY98 Numptie * Shaun turbo 4 door MY00 * Ewan turbo wagon MY94 * demotes still to confirm
  10. Numptie, I would use the Bayview Hotel in Brora, a few miles North of Golspie. I have several Aunties and Uncles that live in Brora and we stayed there at a family wedding not so long ago. Great service and as grand as it gets up North. Real old feel to the place, where the Deer hunters and Fisherman go. Regarded locally as being posh £25 a night for a single room and £45 a night per couple; that?s B&B. Secure parking as well. My Uncle Richie (MacKenzie), who owns the local Ford Garage, just lives up the road. The other garage in the place is Rapsons, same as the buses in Inverness, and that?s also ?Family? as my Granny was a Rapson from Helmsdale. (next village North) Then there is my dads side of the family; the Coghill?s, but that's a different story. Most of "us" are from/in Caithness. Anyhow, hope this helps http://www.scotland-index.co.uk/sutherland...yview/hotel.htm
  11. Must say the P1 looks quite superb with the big wheels. Real smart indeed. You could try Sti pink next
  12. Hi Shaun, It would be a Sat or Sun. Nothing set up yet, but if you and Carl Davey can tell me what dates you are available, we?ll take it from there and we?ll pick a date. I get home on the 15th Sept for 3 weeks, but am not worried about setting it up to suit myself. If I am there fine, if not, also fine. This last year has been a bit of a whiz for the family and I, what with moving house and all that comes with that but now that my good lady has gone back to work (after 11 years I may add ) I am going to try and do a bit more for the club for the NE, Highlands and Islands, and the Scottish scene in general, hopefully giving JohnS a bit of support with some of the good work he does for us year in year out. Please drop me an email, with all your contact details as I have something else to organise as well, which will include you ?Watch this space for some local karting coming our way, be better to play on the wee cars on the wee track rather than the big cars on the road. Jools
  13. Gavin Wallace of Wallace Performance in Aberdeen has recently taken delivery and had installed at his purpose build sound proofed premises in Aberdeen a brand new Dastek 4-wheel rolling road system. This is set up with a 15KW main cooling fan fed from outside the building, with a 5KW secondary fan set up for top mounts. Spoke with Gavin today regarding the SIDC day that I hope to get organised and he was telling me that he is having his rolling road open day on Sunday the 5th Sept. You can get your car on the rolling road for £25 on the day. Normal weekly price, out with block and club bookings, will be £40. This is a promotional day for Gavin, hence the reduced price. If you are interested in getting you car on the rollers, suggest you call him direct at Wallace Performance. Details can be found at http://www.wallaceperformance.co.uk/ or phone on 01224 708444. He has asked me to spread the word and invite everyone we know to go along and have a look
  14. N, Good to hear from you me old pal and glad you liked the nice Sti pink wheels The objectives for drawing attention to the club stand and promoting the good work young KeithP can do for us where well and truly met. Understatement of the year that Wallace performance can do both 4x4, front or rear wheel drive cars on the day; no probs there Cheers, Jools PS; your "pub" post on SN was spot on.
  15. 1. Smiddy (Phil) (ex SN SCOSaltire) 2. wrxmania - Brian - 2003 WRX Silver 4 door 3. karps - stickered up 03 sti 4. Evojkp - Evo7 although still a member on a technicality (ie paid membership for a year!) 5. JAC - Prodrive MY02 "333" Sti with 1 or 2 mods (inc. sti pink wheels for show & track use )
  16. Absolutely; ?we are all friends here? and the more the merrier as they say
  17. Unfortunately I?ll still be offshore for this one
  18. Hi Mike, All welcome as per SIDC track days, SIDC/Subaru owner or not Will wait to see what the response is over the weekend and into next week with the Scooby brigade, and then I will spread the word on other forums. I know several cars that will come along already from out and about Abzshire. I'll call Gavin and see what provisional dates we can consider, but it will most likely be into the last two weeks of Sept now, unless people want it set up sooner. It would not be over the 11th Sept, when the SIDC have a track day at Knockhill already organised. It might be that SIDC members get an additional small discount over what I have quoted above, but the fine detail still has to be sorted out; all depending on demand from actual SIDC members to be honest
  19. And it not going to get better as we move into the weekend Batten down the hatches all you land dwellers?there?s a wee storm coming your way
  20. Gavin Wallace of Wallace Performance has recently taken delivery and had installed at his purpose build sound proofed premises in Aberdeen a brand new Dastek 4-wheel rolling road system. This is set up with a 15KW main cooling fan fed from outside the building, with a 5KW secondary fan set up for top mounts. I have approached Gavin and asked him if we can set up a SIDC Rolling road day on probably a Sat (or maybe even a Sunday if required) and now want to gauge interest. At this time the cost will most likely be £30 per car for less that 15 cars and £25 per car for more than 15 cars. Please note that each car will get 2 power runs Please let me know what the interest levels are for such an event to be set up and ?we? will make it happen
  21. Afternoon from a blustery location somewhere offshore Denmark
  22. I think we all need to realise that this new section will only be what we want it to be?and what we actually make it for ourselves. Kinda like going out on a night out and looking for a good time somewhere; then you get smart and release that if you want a good night?you need to make it happen Am I making any sense here?
  23. Excellent stuff?
  24. JohnS has sorted us out with power for the show, so I will be heading in there with the plasma screen and sound system. (along with a rather clean , shinny and well modded Sti7?.with some real nice wheels on RE070 rubber, along with a display of wet and winter tyres on 18? & 17? rims) I will have the plasma screen set up with the top of the screen about 6' off the floor to allow good viewing. I will take one of the boys PS2 game stations, so people can play the latest Colin Mcrea 04 WRC game. We could allow kids (big and little) to drive a Scooby over the same stage keeping a check on times, or have 2 player games on the split screen. Also, we can play videos or DVD?s on a video I will have set up, or the DVD?s on the PS2. Here?s the crunch; the only Scooby DVD I have is the Duke ?Subaru Impreza? one with the picture of a 22B on the front. If anyone else out there is coming along, and has Scooby DVD?s or video?s, please bring them with you and pass them onto JohnS so we can show them during the day. Should help create some interest and be good for a laugh! Then wait till you see the car?.on those nice wheels
