Yeah I got a XKR 1999 Convertible too XK8's are more of a cruiser and Scooby will prob beat it easily. XKR is another breed of animal. Remember these things are almost 2 ton so obviously off the line the Scoob will annilate it upto around 20mph. Once the XKR is moving and the 'charger' is producing over 400lb-s torque you can kiss my twin exhausts good bye as it cruises right up to the limit of 155mph Plus the beauty of these cars is that I can cruise at 155mph all day without the big ends going

A general Technical Question

Might be interested in buying that off you Julian as Cally needs a car soon. -
Just opened the morning post and guess what? They haven't recieved my drivers license for my 5 points endorsement ban for the other month so as of tommorrow they are revoking my UK drivers license. ANOTHER fook up. The story goes whilst on holiday in November my wallet was stolen along with my drivers license. Rang the DVLA who said they would sort. Nothing. Rang end of January and explained I now have 5 points but still no license. Yes Mr. Stokes we will sort asap. Now they send me a friggin letter saying my license is revoked from tommorrow. Any problems please call 01792 ******. Great. Ring them and they are shut til Monday. So my license runs out tommorrow and bugger all I can do about it due to another cock up. Christ.

CustomScoobyIOM replied to VAL113R's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Depends on roof damage. Ive got front struts here if you need them, seeing as you got the car off me. Otherwise rejig (Lots of adverts for people with a mobile jig who will travel so...) Once the chassis is sorted needs complete front end and all the slam panels. Each slam panel is approx £30 each. Have you lost the Hybrid intercooler etc? Driveshafts are peanuts. Depends if it has damaged the gearbox though or not. Remove the cambelt covers by pulling the radiator out and checking to see if anything has jammed the wheels and if the cambelt is ok. Alternatively you could get another write off car with good chassis and transfer all your bits onto it? Then use your shell ID for the new one. But adds costs etc. If I can be of any help call me 07740047043. -
A general Technical Question

Heat soak is about spot on. Harvey who posts on here is extremely knowledgable on this and has done many testing on his STI6 with various heat management solutions. Heat management is a vital part for getting the engines optimum performance and its reliability. Cold air is the key to get into the engine. Obviously a turbo is driven by hot exhaust gases which turn the turbine wheel, and push the air through an intercooler and back into the throttle body (In the case of the Imprezas). Hot air is less dense and in turn carrys less oxygen therefore packing less of the very important oxygen rich air into the intake manifold. So the cooler the air, the more denser it is, which means there is more oxygen content and thus more oxygen is put through the intake manifold and into the cylinders. Hence cold air kits are an ideal starting point for pumping cold air into the turbo. Intercoolers on the Scoobys are air to air which means so they transfer heat from the compressed air in the intake plumbing to the cooler outside air. They work by the air is being drawn through the air filter, compressed then pushed through the intercooler. Once it is inside is is pushed through small tubes with small fins attached (Which you can see from top). The heated compressed air from the turbo charger is pushed through here and the air which is forced onto the intercooler pulls heat away from the tubes and fins thus resulting in a cooler charge temperature. Phew! Right grounding kits are designed for the older cars mainly but can have benefits on the newer cars. The older the car is the wiring starts to become older and starts to become brittle. The idea of the grounding kit is to provide a good earth to all the sensors on the car so they are all reading at their optimum level. I think.....
