  1. Thank you very much everyone Both over the moon as you can tell
  2. Happy Birthday yesterday to my gorgeous Cally!! And I proposed.... And she said yes!! Wooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
  3. Exactly Highlander The engine wiring loom is connected to the car via 2 connectors near the battery and one underneath the intercooler. The engine then lifts out complete with the wiring loom on the inlet still connected to all the injectors/sensors etc. So the engine might of blown before, old owner pulls old engine out, puts new one in and plugs together the connectors. Car starts - He is happy! Marvellous TBH a replacement engine in older cars isn't uncommon. See Highlanders pic for 2 loom connections
  4. Well worth it << 22m ARB >> Blimey thats a long ARB mate
  5. Prob a simple explanation - Your car had an original engine. It blew up. The previous (or one of the previous) owners went to a scrap yard, found an RA there, didn't know any better, bought the engine and put it in. Voila car runs so he is happy << However, the ECU DOES NOT operate them and they DO NOT WORK on road going cars. >> The second part is true yes. Subaru used the OEM ECU for rallying from 92-96, so it will operate it if needed. 97 onwards they switched to GEMS ECUs and possibly Pectels later.
  6. As Phil says show use only due to they are not E Approved.
  7. << How do the WRC cars make 500ft/lb and 'only' 300bhp...is it due to certain restrictions? >> Due to the 34mm restrictors on the turbos they run out of power at 5000rpm making most of their torque lower down.
  8. Does this mean I can get off the steps of Buckingham Palace wearing my Batman uniform and remove my banner saying "Reinstate Dan to the SIDC?" Welcome back mate
  9. Depends how you do it. Using either a brand new EJ257 block STI from the states or using a used EJ25 NA block again from the states. Up the compression ratio, headers, exhaust etc. etc. and you will be looking at 220bhp reliably. Its something different Depends how long you keep the car etc. etc. etc. Bare in mind you can get an Estate WRX for circa £3-4k now.
  10. Just got in from work, will reply shortly. Jon.
  11. Yeah change to 7's. Leads sound fine then to me.
  12. How old are your plugs? Definetely worth doing. Gap to 0.7mm. Leads an uprated set are £110 for a set of Magnecor so whilst they are off, why not. The car is 5 years old now so normal wear and tear. Nice times though last year
  13. Very nice Thats a Skoop isn't it? Stuart Knight makes them? Top notch
  14. Revolution in Gateshead Give them a call. Depends on your budget but the Mille Miglia T12 Wheels looks awesome. Especially when they redo them diamond cut.
  15. Yes it will. All you need is the rear diff.
  16. << << think Jimmy is considering turning to the dark side also. I have felt a disturbance in the force that I have not felt since being in the presence of my old master... >> It's true, my path has wandered since a Scoob last graced my driveway BUT YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE!! Don't know what i'll do to be honest boys. My payrise was not too good (better get my head out my a$$ and do some exams!LOL!) So i'll have to see how my finances are come July time. Am thinking about Integra Type R as a backup plan until a new Scoob can be purchased. I don't want a UK turbo! When and where at the weekend, I might pop down and show my face! >> UK Turbo 1999 = £6500 VF28 Turbo - £350 ECUTEK Remap - £500 STI Intercooler - £200 = 300bhp+ and a very fast car With suitable gearing not stopping at 140mph.....!
  17. Sorry to hear that at Heazille Towers Hope she is ok.
  18. He was correct Bob Here is an English translation for the DCCD hope this helps Link to DCCD Manual Enjoy the new car
  19. << well sorry to the people that i have seemed to upset on here you know who you are >> Me?
  20. Right I spoke to Ade and agreed terms this morning. Apologies for not calling sooner as I was out last night and phone was left at home. This is purely between me and Ade, NOT Dan or anyone else. And unless I don't stick to these terms we set, then it is kept off the forums. I am quite happy to hand in my SIDC Membership if that is how other users feel and move on in the world. Ade, deepest apologies to you and Ronnie for this. I can't say anymore than that. I am happy for this thread to stay open. Regards, Jon. *Edited - Due to making comments to Steveeeeeeee which were unfair and untrue*
